"the flip flop jumper"
strollerweb replied to blueskiesbill's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I used to jump with the open sandal, landed in long grass once and managed to get grass cuts between my toes!! Drove me mad waiting for them to heal, Always jump in trainers now and booties on top Totally Free Skydiving Software/blue] www.strollerweb.co.uk www.gravity-power.com -
Upsizing is something I’m thinking about, having badly damaged my knee twice when younger those no winds days are not so fun anymore. Firebird has brought out a canopy using a material that is said to be 35% lighter and thinner than normal, the biggest canopy I can get in my rig is 135 so having an option to go up to a 150 can only be a good one. http://www.flyfirebird.com/catalog/information.php/info_id/92 Totally Free Skydiving Software/blue] www.strollerweb.co.uk www.gravity-power.com

Goodbye "Skydiving Magazine"?
strollerweb replied to Madison's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
With over 15,000 subscribers and a readership that is probably five times that figure, even more! Skydiving had to be the most read Skydiving magazine on the planet. I find it hard to believe that it has finished due to the current finical crisis, but to just shut with no notice seems very strange! I'm sure the full story will come out in the fullness time, but hopefully someone will be able to pick up were Skydiving left off. Thats really cool, how many skydivers are there in Ireland? Would be interesting to see which country has the biggest ratio or is that the smallest ratio? total jumpers to national record participants. Totally Free Skydiving Software/blue] www.strollerweb.co.uk www.gravity-power.com

Right-mouse click this link and Save the Target to your local computer (in IE at least, it's Save Link As in Firefox). Now if you drag and drop the saved file into a browser, it should work if you have the plug-in installed (which you will have if you've been browsing it online). You'll need to download the link if Dave updates it though. Craig, I did ask that people only hotlink to the apps page you can download the app from the Download page by right clicking there, that way I can keep track, if it appears no one is using it then I get bored and delete it Totally Free Skydiving Software/blue] www.strollerweb.co.uk www.gravity-power.com

Would you still jump with your.....
strollerweb replied to napvid's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Good question made me stop and think and realise how my opinions have changed over the years. I jumped for almost 20 years without one and did not have a problem with that. Now I think I would properly jump without one if it was with people I knew and at my home dropzone on a Sunday afternoon type jump, but if I was heading to a Boogie or training camp I would look to borrow one. Hopefully with my Vigil 2 this should not become an issue. Totally Free Skydiving Software/blue] www.strollerweb.co.uk www.gravity-power.com -
Who has the HIGHEST cutaway ratio?
strollerweb replied to UDSkyJunkie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
In deLand in about '92 when the South African (can't remember if it was 4 or 8 way) team was training, they all had Pintails. We used to make it a point to be out of the packing hangar as the Otter came around on jump run so we could catch the mals as they happened. It was a regular event, no fewer than one a load. Sometimes more. Mike in manifest would announce it. Ah, Pintails. Thanks for the memory jog. It was ok if the canopy inflated before the brake lines came free from bungee on the slider. I didn’t find out about the bungee trick until I chopped it twice, which was the 5th and then 30th jump. On jump 95 one brake line set got free way too early and round the front they went. Same happened on jump 96, but after one fast rotation they slip free I chopped that one when I landed and bagged it after removing the risers and bag etc. My ratio workouts at 1 in 316.75 that’s 8 over 2550 jumps, but 3 were on the Pintail and 2 from CRW. That leaves two line-overs and a Sabre that turned itself into an 8 cell after a very snappy open. Totally Free Skydiving Software/blue] www.strollerweb.co.uk www.gravity-power.com -

I was convinced they had balloon legs and arms, so was surprised when I got hold of the photo showing straight legs and arms. Is yours really a balloon suit version? yep, balloon suits, has 24 magnet people, great for doing 7-way with video Now that is what I remember them looking like, cheers for posting that I thought it was the first signs of old age creeping in Totally Free Skydiving Software/blue] www.strollerweb.co.uk www.gravity-power.com
