  1. In Oregon at least it was simple. The forms are free online or at your local DMV. You have a few weeks to actually register the car after you buy it, I think it was 30 days and with my insurance you still have a couple days grace period. Once your lienholder receives the money they should be able to release the title the same day or at least mail it the same day. It also helped that I used to work at a car dealership and knew which forms were required and who to contact
  2. I also sold a car last year with a lien on it. The buyer knew that and she got the money through her credit union. So her credit union ended up paying mine and then they released the title. Piece of cake.
  3. I stopped by there one saturday a couple years ago and no one was there. Is it more of a call first and get a couple people to come out before you drive out there place?
  4. I had 500 plus jumps before I got a video set up. Started doing paid jumps after 10 or so practice jumps. Not the best videos early on but it was either that or no video for the tandem students. I still only have about 40 or so video jumps. Too busy doing tandems.
  5. Well, maybe not 'break' an ankle or leg but a hay field is definitely in my bottom ten places to jump
  6. Maybe the golf ball but didn't a videography actually jump out without a parachute some time ago?

    Cat Door

I would take off the plastic cover at first and just leave a hole for them to go back and forth from. Then when they get used to that put the door back on without the magnets. You might have to do the tuna or sting thing but they should get it soon enough. My cat uses a plastic dog door to go outside and come in when ever he wants. Took about 5 seconds to get him to use it. But then again he really wanted to go outside.
  8. There are no 'real' dz's in southern Oregon. Beagle still does jump though but no students and very rarely. I think you have to coordinate jumpers and the pilot before hand. They do do a Mother's Day boogie though every year that's quite fun. Mostly older jumpers, no younger crowd. Also the landing area is pretty treacherous compared to most dzs. They land right in front of the hanger on a narrow strip of dirt bordered on both sides by trees. Definitely an experience but you won't get in many jumps.
  9. I plan on being there for the camp and 100 ways. Went two years ago and had a blast, even if I did manage to take out Kate on my first jump! Will be looking for people who want to split costs too, car/hotel etc.
  10. I think it makes for a faster wing/less drag...?? A few years ago a guy at my dz took his off the canopy and liked it better.
  11. Try Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I got my own policy directly when I went back to school. $150 month for a $500 deductible. A $5000 deductible was round $100 month. And it's exactly the same coverage as I had through my employer.
  12. You shouldnt have any worries then. As long as you stuck with the physical therapy and strenghtened it you should be in good shape. I have heard of long term weakness problems using a cadavers parts. I've heard the opposite. Your hamstring will never be as strong as using a cadavers tendon. I just had surgery and they told they use the achilles tendon which is several times stronger than any ACL. So by the time you are completely healed the graft should be as strong or stronger than your original ACL. I was told and have talked with others who've had the surger, using your hamstring just results in additional healing time and possible problems later on with your hamstring.
  13. It you want Lanc get the 32 or 42.
  14. Check out this website. Mainly for women's shirts but she has a few for guys too. http://propellher.com/
  15. But the issue there is, what about those who can't or for whatever reason won't have a bank account? Sure, there are "prepaid" debit cards out there but all of them have fees attached. I don't see any reason why you would not have checking account. The whole 'big brother' paranoia thing seems to be a bit over the top for checking accounts to me.
  16. Get a debit card, problem solved.
  17. Looks like he flew into on purpose(you can see him look at it before the wrap), trying to catch it etc. Dumbass.
  18. I jumped a week after I had mine pulled with no problems. But then again I really had no pain except for a bit the day after.
  19. Didn't Tagle do something like 800 jumps his first year? Has anyone done more than that?
  20. I made mention that I was an instructor under the hobbies section of my resume. I think it definitely helped to stand me out from the crowd and was an easy talking point in interviews. Just make sure you emphasize the "professional" part of what you are doing, not just skydiving.
  21. If you don't have to have the lastest digital go with the canon elph. It's a $10 camera and find someone to modify it for you and you have a perfect setup. Granted it's not going to land you mazagine layouts but they are decent pictures for tandems and such.
  22. Large bands doubled up for the locking stows and small bands single stowed for the rest. (My version of the free stow bag)
  23. Do not look up at the canopy on opening! Otherwise I do the same thing as normal.
