Creswell / Eugene skydivers/Wright brothers
tetra316 replied to EricTheRed's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
We are back up and jumping. Just landing in a nearby farm. Still trying to work out the airport issue. -
If you are interested in the excitement of off dz jumps come by Eugene Skydivers We are currently jumping into a nearby farm.

There is a car company that has a lower age limit, 21. I rented from them when I was back east but cannot remember who they are. It was one of the major ones though.

I know several people who have sidemounted a HC32 with no problems, although doing so with a box might be an issue. I'll be side mounting mine when I go digital. And yes the HC32 does have a lanc.

I like the current one without the background bsp. And like someone said I would change the font.

My cat won't drink milk unless it's sweetened with sugar (the leftover milk from cereal).

Is that a USPA DZ? -[/reply Yes it is ..At the end of the year there were 25 students and only one AFFI.I did all 7 levels with one AFFI I would say one vs two AFFI is dependent on the type of AFF program you have. I know a lot of USPA dz's who have students do 1-3 tandems before AFF. Then all the AFF jumps are done with one instructor. Otherwise straight AFF usually uses 2 instructors.

That's what my dentist told me to take 2400mg (for swelling) daily with the Vicodan (for pain). I only took the Vicodan for about 2 days though. They told me to stay on the Ibuprofen for 5 days.

Doesn't answer my question. It only says may cause hives and not to use if you have an allergic reaction to other medicines. I'm not allergic to it. Actually took it once after with no problems. Just wondering if it increases my chances of hives from heavy usage of it.
-
Are you still competing this year on your Katana? What is your wingloading?
-
I know taking too much of this can cause hives, which I got taking it after I got my wisdom teeth removed. I have taken Ibuprofen many times prior with out having any reaction. I just think it was because I took more and for longer than I ever have before. So should I stay away from it now, or would it be okay to take it again, just not that much? I have used it once after with no problems. Would I be more likely to get hives again from it? (edited for clarification)

Nice! I'm going to try it this year

Can someone explain what the simple differences are between the models in laymans terms. I thought the lower numbers were the more expensive models but the 10d are cheap compared to the 30 and rebel numbers. But the 30 is a lot more than the rebels. What the difference between the rebels and non rebels. Help!

Maximizing front riser dive performance?
tetra316 replied to matt3sa's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Before grabbing your risers fly in half brakes, release, then grab your risers. This will alleviate a lot of the pressure. Just be careful how fast/hard you pull the risers down as it will be a lot easier to get it into a dive and you may end up diving more than you wanted to. -
Raw ground meat in Italy. Kind of like hamburger. Couldn't get over the raw part. Also had raw prosciutto which wasn't bad.

Re read what I wrote. I will not take a passenger who is resisting me. I will take someone who isn't totally sure though as long as they are not resisting. (shouldn't have used the no word.)
-
Relax. I do agree with you. My wording wasn't the best but I simply meant I would still take someone even if they were unsure or didn't expressly say they want to go as long as there was no resistance. I've seen too many people be glad they went who were frozen in the door. Just because they weren't all gung ho in the door and screaming yes doesn't mean they don't want to go.
-
Once out of 300 tandems. It wasn't so much as her saying no as it was her fighting me as I tried to move towards the door. I think I would still take someone out even if they said no as long as they were not physically resisting me.

Square 1 had some really awesome deals on new katana's they had left over from before the price hike. They were $1584 and I was planning on calling yesterday and ordering one but ended up putting it off till today. So of course they said the deal is no longer any good as the canopies all get sent back to pd today. I thought I was pretty impulsive but apparently I'm not impulsive enough. Ruined my day! Oh well maybe I'll find a good deal on a used one.
-
I would agree except I've put about 800 jumps and two linesets on these toggles and never had an issue before. That's why it makes me think it might also be because the loop is so loose installed. Of course maybe wear and tear is maybe causing the grommets to become deformed even though they look and feel fine.
-
See the second picture. The loop itselt is about 1 1/2 inches long but the toggle is probably only 3/4 inch wide hence the 'play'.
-
why not? I would put the knot to make the loop tight looking at the picture it seems possible Not possible because the brake lines are preset and bartacked. If I put a knot in it then it makes the brake lines too short.
-
I had a new lineset put on my katana about 40 jumps ago. Hma line with the lower brake lines finger traped and bartacked at the factory. This doesn't allow for a knot to be placed behind the toggle like their pervious linesets so the line is loose on the toggle. Anyway I noticed this wearing on the line, it's cutting it in half. And in the same exact place on both brake lines. Called pd and they recommended I replace the grommets and they would send me a new set of lower control lines. Very attentive and awesome service by the way!!!!!! They think it's due to a rough grommet however it seems to me and my rigger that its also because the line is allowed to move all over the toggle on the side. So will get new toggles and see what happens. Anyway just wondered if anyone else had this happen to them from the new preset lines? Or maybe it's just me and my bad grommets.

Can any tax people help me out here - you can only use the credit for your first two years of undergrad right? Not for grad school, even if you've never used it before? At least that's what I think the publications say.

Just pay it yourself and go! I've been known to do that on occasion when I was working. It's better than having to pay for the entire ticket to get there in the first place. Although airlines suck in general for this policy
