  1. I would never change a safety related skydive item, like altimeters, rigs, canopys and so on. Sewing a patch on a suit or putting some stickers on a helmet, ok, but never manipulate anything which saves your life. Are you sure there are no holes which are now covered with paint? Just my opinion.
  2. I´ve made a warning sign. Feel free to use it at your dropzone (just print and laminate it). Stay safe out there! Blue Skies
  3. Regular rubber bands make sense except for the critical, middle locking stows. And what do you use for the middle locking stows instead? I have a mirage, there are only 3 locking stows...
  4. I switched back from tube stoes to normal rubber bands because they give me much better openings.
  5. What is your current canopy? Differences?
  6. No chance in my opinion. I have a M2 with a PD 160 and a Pilot 168 ZPX (!) in it, and it´s already very tight. I don´t think you can fit a normal 170 ZP canopy in it. Even less if it´s a new one.
  7. You can build a switch which only activates when you cutaway the main. You can thank me later. ;)
  8. I would always choose the quattro. You can also set up only 3 freefall alarms with the quattro (just by selecting the same warning altitude twice). But you can never set 4 alarms with the Optima...
  9. The support of alti-2 really sucks. They promise an update for the NMU software for years now and nothing happened. But the display of the N3 is much better than the VISO, so i keep it anyway.
  10. An altimeter as audible is wasted money in my opinion. Get an Optima or Quattro. You won´t be disapointed.
  11. With the quattro: 1. Wake up call 2. Wave off 3. Opening 4. Last call
  12. As a german skydiver i can say that the germans are very prudent with regulations in every area. If it can be regulated, there is a regulation for it in germany. So if the cycle in germany is 1 year, i´m sure 1 year is more than enough.
  13. Aerodyne says 15-20% smaller pack volume, so a 168 ZPX is about a "normal" 140sqf canopy. The Wings Sizing Chart says a 150-170sqf will fit in the W-11 container. So if the 168 is too big, i guess the ZPX will fit. But better ask a rigger.
  14. lupe = Mexican girl, Loupe = Seeing small crap Good catch. I added it to my collection: http://www.skydivestlouisarea.com/misused.htm Lupe is the german word for loupe... ;)
  15. Just send me one of the improved helmets and i will write a review in german for the german skydivers out there. I mean, just sayin'...
