Does anyone have the original? I'd love a copy. The guy playing Mr. Hicks wrote that scene in college as a project. It was redone and incorporated in Fandango years later. I'm looking for the first edition. We already own a copy of Fandango. I used to have the original college project but that tape is trashed. It was fun to play them together. Hi Mandy - Yeah, I was pretty much crushed to find out I couldn't keep a dog anymore. I would just close up and have a real hard time breathing - (that's right ladies, nerdy AND asthmatic). Three cat breeds to research - good luck (Devon Rex, Cornish Rex, Sphynx). The Sphynx is the hairless and pretty ugly. All the breeds are EXTREMELY social and good pets. (Also, you could research hypoallergenic). Hypo means less or little, not 'non'. I can have the cat around 100% of the time. We wash him weekly and he gets wiped down every couple days to keep the dander down. The only thing I can't do is rub my eyes after petting him. Also, I'd just as soon not have him in my room or sleep on the bed or pillows so we keep that room shut and my workout room also. good luck. ... Freeflying = evolving? I don't think so, it's more like expanding. I don't think of freeflying as something 'more evolved' or 'better', just another facet of jumping. I won't respond to any semantics arguments (even though this is one). Again, all the disciplines are fun and restricting your experience from any aspect is just taking away your abilities. Congrats to the olav types and SDC for recognizing it. Funny picture in Parachutist a couple years ago - Pip R was in a headdown doing AFF with a student (apparently, the student fell pretty fast?). A lot of people wrote in AGHAST at the sight, and "How can someone be so irresponsible" and so on. Pip is better in just about any body position than most are in their chosen field and these guys just didn't get it. he could have caught that student any time from any position. Short is, my RW is better for my freeflying and my freeflying is better for my RW (also, my Crw and swooping help each other out also). FF won't be the death, unless people keep abandoning the other disciplines for it that won't happen, we just need to make sure people are cross trained and not turned off from RW due to too expectations too soon. ... I'm a dog person but can't have one due to allergies. I grew up with pets and it was a "BIG DEAL" for me. This cat is Norbert, and doesn't make my lungs close up (special breed Devon Rex). Now my daughter has a pet like I did - (also a BIG DEAL to me). They are also good with butter and garlic. (added just in case I got too for off the macho scale in the first paragraph). ... That's cool. But mantis is about harnessing the power in your lower body. The booties are pretty important. However, I have to defer to you and the gorgeous VSkyGirl (VIBES for MOM). Better to learn mantis regardless since it's early and time to start building the right habits. So I withdraw the second set of advice other than get booties if you can. About a half hour to the DZ. Cindy - Keep introducing yourself around. At most DZs you will eventually find those you click with. If not, there's other DZs. It's a big family most of the time. And like most, people are usually pretty nice once you understand them. Some just take longer to warm up than others. ...
