I feel your pain. My teammate, SBS, tried skysurfing a large board a few times and , well... Scene 1: SBS: "Here. Give me the board and let me show you how to do that trick!" Me: "Okay." Cut to me on the ground watching the board land two minutes before SBS. Then to later in a team room watching the video of SBS doing the trick and then launching into every other trick in the book...capped off with a really interesting fast twisting spin and a board chop. Scene 2: An exact repeat of scene 1, but the board landed farther out. Scene 3: Ditto. Scene 4: Me: "Let me fly the camera!" SBS: "No."

All weekend--one of the most beautiful weekends of the year ()--AND Saturday night, I was chained to a desk working on another mission-critical project for a client who knows nothing of what Blue Skies are really about. Anyway, while burning the midnight oil late Saturday night Andi calls me from the Bombshelter to tell me what an incredible skydiving day I missed, that I'm crazy to miss out on a killer Halloween party, and that her costume was one of the best there. I tink Lucy got sum splaining ta do.

Paul, Since when do camera flyers fly with booties? The bottom line here is that if you want to fly on every axis with perfection, your get a FireFly suit. And if you want to relive your childhood and wear pajamas with da booties (or rip points on your belly) you get one of dem suits with the rubber baby buggy bumpers on 'em. Lawrence

I think a FireFly suit would resolve any questions of perfection. I've personally seen your stuff, and there are but a handful of camera flyers on the planet who can do what you do. (what can I say, skysurfers turn good camera flyers into great ones!) And with a bronze medal from the 2004 Nationals, I think you would have some pricing leverage. Lawrence

I was under the impression that Loftus experienced the mal while holding a waterskiing tow rope. If so, then that's not a "regular" skysurfing jump. And Harris died in Dec 1995 shooting that commerical, but he wasn't skysurfing at the time. Man, Ron, to recall all those folks...you've been around the block a few times! Lawrence

Ron, A skysurfer went in in 2000? Do you know any details other than those in the clip you posted? How much skysurfing experience he had? Who the guy was? The reason I ask is that all the top skysurfers who've died have done so while not skysurfing. I don't include Loftus as a "skysurfing fatality" since he was doing a special stunt at the time.)
