Hi all! Our club's plane crashed in Norway not long ago... And we are thinking about foundation of new dropzone for the next season. Accordingly a question about new jumpplane appears … We need an aircraft that is able to take 4-5-6 jumpers to 10000-12000 ft. Main version is to buy/to rent a used Cesna-206 but nobody from our pilot/jumpers has experience in flying it and can’t explain how long time is needing for climbing to 10000-12000 ft with C-206… Any suggestions? Is C-206 useable for regular skydiving (RW, tandem, AFF) or there is a better choice? (I assume by reasonable price…). And other question: haw many jumpers may jump out at once (in one formation)? It is quite important for RW training… Thanks in advance for all opinions! Eric

Big thanks to all! It seems that I need send my canopy for patching and reline nevertheless… Eric

I’ve heard that repairs with ripstop are harmful for ZP. My canopy has such repairs in two places and one of them is pretty large (6-7 cm circle from both sides). The canopy has good lines and I haven’t another reason to send my Tri-190 to manufacturer, on the other hand. The matter is that there isn’t any good rigger in our region for repairing with normal patch. You opinions? Eric

Oh yes...demo canopies... A "small" problem is here - I'm living in Eastern Europe....Latvia...

Thanks to all for responses! Unfortunately, I didn’t find my canopy (Tri-190 98/02) in Sandy’s chart. Looks I have simple to buy a new canopy (Spectre-170) later and in case if it will not fit in my container – to change the container. Only the practical experience may help here… Eric

to Shark: What will be bigger in reality – Spectre or Sabre-2 ? We haven’t any Spectre in our club and I really don’t know…
-
My Tri-190 is 98/02 and I think it really has volume 396, because my rig was created for Stilleto-170 (volume 385 cu in)… That couldn't be 509….
-
correct is Spectre 170 - 455 (my-skyworld)... but Tri-190 is right - 396... that is why 455 - 396 = 59 cu in :(( It isn't really - press in my contayner so bigger canopy... Although I have Tri190 now and think about smaller Spectre ...170...
-
>Where did you get the numbers you are presenting here? Everywhere… for examples: http://www.paragear.com http://www.square1.com http://www.my-skyworld.com and somewhere else… Thanks for response Eric

Why Spectre –170 has the packing value on 20% larger then Sabre? For example - Spectre 170 has value 455 cu.in. !!! , but Sabre 170 – only 364… As I know Spectre is a 7cells and should be a bit smaller… or no? It is larger than 7 cell Triathlon even! I have Tri-190 at present and that fits to my container very tight. I was about downsizing to Spectre-170 but have founded out that Sp-170 is bigger than Tri-190 per 59 cu.in !!! Why??? I don't understand...

Dipping of the main canopy in non-salt water.
ekezick replied to ekezick's topic in Gear and Rigging
Hi! I had my third cutaway last Saturday (181 jumps in total). The main Triathlon has fallen in a nearest pond and has become fully wet. Does anybody know – wetting with sweet (non-salt) water is dangerously for fabric or not? Thanks Eric -
-Wings from Sunrise or Mirge with all options. -Spectre 170~150, jumpsuit, helmet, pro-track etc. -PD 176R -Cypress And own aircraft with pilot... Cesna~210 or KingAir :) Well, best of all - own dropzone :))))) It is my choice today - this maybe different later... Eric

Thanks, ooohhhno!!! Yes - yes, I have recollected. We then have still laughed, that the slider is similar to female underwear more ;)) But where it is possible to get one such bikini slider? I have checked out some web sites and haven’t found anything similar… Eric

Many thanks for helpful hints. However I would like to hear opinions from those jumpers, who use (or have used) the Raven as main actually. And still. One my familiar had a similar Raven as main. And it had very soft openings, as he said. We jumped together and I saw, how the slider of its canopy slipped downwards only after a tension of steering lines. Most likely, that I should accumulate some more money for a used Triathlon or the Spectre… Thanks, Eric

I have few money for a main at the present moment. (I’m not living in USA; I’m from East Europe). At the same time I have very big desire to jump. I have hardly more than 150 jumps; my weight is about 210... My once injured back requires soft opening also. And I consider an opportunity to use a Raven - 2 as the main. The canopy is with no jumps and has 1987 release date and it is very cheap accordingly… F-111 and dacron lines, of course… But I do not know, whether a fabric has lost or not the quality during fifteen years of standing in the container? And I need any experience from skydivers who has jumps on the Raven. Any opinions? Thanks Eric

.... "waffle stomped" - Means it what you count the case when one skydiver deceives another skydivers, is trifle?

Thanks for your response. The question is that I do not live in USA: actually I am in the East Europe. And I can’t apply to FBI or police from here. I do not know, whether can make it someone instead of me in USA. I have doubt… I already tried to find his traces through forums. It was successfully to me also (only one person knew him in all Arizona) and I even spoke with him. But he has again disappeared and any more does not approach to the phone and doesn’t answer for e-mail. So he knows my coordinates at present very well…

Unfortunately, but this guy is already out of sport from 1998. And his number is only cell number.

Yes, RemiAndKaren rights. Therefore money were sent through the Western the Union :(

What can buyer do, if the gear seller was a trickster? Some time ago I have bought a canopy from an Arizona’s skydiver and have transferred the canopy costs to him. But straight away this man has changed his phone number and e-mail address. I had luck to find out his new phone number, but it seems now that he does not answer me knowingly since he sees bell acting from abroad. I do not live in USA and I do not know, how it is possible to force the person from America to carry out his obligations. I know only his name and cell phone number. USPA knows a bit more about him, but they answered only that contact information for theirs members is considered confidential. Can anybody give me a piece of good advice?

Knows somebody how to find the skydiver through the USPA or another way? Any time ago I have bought a canopy from Michael Bentley, who lived in Tempe City in Arizona. It happened at November 2000. But unexpected error occurred through UPS fault and the canopy was forwarded backwards. By that time Michael had changed his living address and phone number. And now UPS categorically refuse to send the package again until then Michael will call on UPS. I know only that his name is Michael Bentley (C-25452) and he was a Senior Parachute Rigger (seal # SF9).

And now UPS categorically refuse to send the package again until then Michael will call on UPS. I do not live in USA: actually I am in Latvia, it in the East Europe. I ask to understand me correctly - 300-400 dollars are the monthly average salary in our country. And this Raven receiving is very important for me. I'm sorry for my appeal to you by Internet but I have not of another way already. I ask all Very much - if someone knows Michael, inform him, that Eric from Latvia has a problem with the UPS and with receiving a canopy. Let he communicates with me to this mail: x_jumper@hotmail.com His mail and phone number was the following at that moment: Michael Bentley C-25452 rmcore@netzero.net Tempe, AZ 85280 (602 or 480) 966-9287
