  1. I've been wanting to get my night SCR. Even better if we could get enough skychicks for a night WSCR.
  2. Flocking in FL is always good, but we left the guys behind and we're back now. Everyone was representing Waller well from what I saw. Susan and Harry were behaving themselves flockingly, but not so sure about the others...
  3. I think you make a wingsuit look fatastical. Everyone loves neon orange, especially mofos.
  4. The Casper Suit!!!!!! MadMax in his Vampire II and Chris in his Casper the Friendly Wingsuit Skyidver!!!!!!! I have no idea why that is so funny to me! Vampire MadMax and Casper the friendly wingsuit - I love it! Kool-Aid, what was in those ribs and corn?
  5. OK, just for you (and everyone else who has at least 200 jumps and has been wanting to try a wingsuit) I'll be giving free first flight classes and coaching at the boogie when not (dis)organizing the flockers... but since this is an AB boogie, pulling high and/or landing off is mandatory!

  8. Nice to have rich friends but remember if your going to do something extremely stupid, get video... . Also announce very loudly "Hey, watch this" Correction: Hey Yawl, Watch This I think what you're looking for is, "Hey y'all, hold my beer and watch this!"
  9. One of those manly injuries - he tripped running out his landing. Best wishes for your healing and rehab, Chris!
  10. So, the "sinking in" feeling doesn't hurt your back more? I have lower back problems and usually feel better in the morning if the mattress is a little on the firm side. We got a cheaper version of the same foam stuff but it's more firm and I love it. I'm not sure of the brand but I can look when I'm home later. The problem came a few months later when my lower back pain (L2 and L3 twisted, disk between is compressed and bulging) was so much less than it had been I didn't do my exercises and threw it out again! I'd suggest going to a big store and trying the different brands. The Tempur-Pedic ones bothered me cuz they felt like I was never gonna stop sinking! P.S. My father also has bad lower back problems and swears by his Sleep Number with a memory foam topper.

  13. I should have my camera mounted by then too, it's just been a busy month! Though I'd bet the other PFI's will take purtier pictures while I'm learning...
  14. I wingsuit with a hinged knee brace after some PCL damage over the years...just plan which way you'll plf to avoid massive bruising
  15. I had to replace 3 leg zippers (one side twice!) withinin 3 jumps on my GTi after about 200 problem free jumps. I think that suit was just a bit short on me and I put extra strain on the leg zippers, the arm zippers on that suit are still in great shape!
  16. 70-ish jumps, 2way sit with AFFI Jane, sunset load, normal freefall & breakoff...I open with a lineover on my Sabre 170 well south of the dz. I see Jane fly over top of me on her way to the landing area yelling "nice lineover!" so I figure at least someone will know where I'm at if I chop. 2500' feet and I'm still trying to clear the lineover... 2000'...1800' I tell myself one more try and it's gone! My decision altitude at the time was 2500' but I didn't want to have my first cutaway on a Sunday evening, didn't want to land off in the almost-dark, and didn't want to fly a 150 reserve, smaller than any canopy I'd ever flown. Luckily on that one more try it cleared and I landed safely. Fast forward 2 months - my reserve is due for a repack, I'm in the loft with my rigger, pull the handle, and I hear a gasp from my rigger...nothing came out! The Cypres cable had tangled with the reserve p/c and it was trapped! I kicked myself for two months knowing I should have cutaway, but if I had done so...
  17. I cut away from line twists with my classic's wings unzipped several years ago. One wing inflated, the other I managed to keep deflated as I went back into freefall, making me barrel roll, so I pulled my reserve quickly as I came around to back side up. There was a scary moment as I watched my reserve slide past my wing, but it opened just fine. The reserve or lines did leave a few minor burn marks on one wing. I really doubt the wings wrapping the container could cause a reserve to hesitate.
  18. Wow, I have a 2000 Dakota with just over 93,000 miles too! Lets start a club for Jennifers Actually got it on December 23, 2000 (graduation) with 17 miles on it, then moved cross country repeatedly through 2003.
  19. 1 - quick packing to make sunset load, put the bag in the tray sloppy, 2 of the right side A lines were wrapped around everything else, spinner! 2 - line twists due to poor body position in a wingsuit, I later learned that my left side MLW had some stitching problems and had lengthened a bit so I was leaning in my harness, ran out of altitude to kick out 3 - lazy pc pitch in a wingsuit, pc handle tucked itself inside the base of the mesh, spinning reserve cuz left side entangled with the pc bridle, happy ending after getting out of my wingsuit and undoing the reserve/pc mess So 2 self-induced and one due to very old gear.
  20. Don, could you (or anyone else) post some more about skydogs and their traditions? Some newer jumpers were asking me and I'm sorry to say I couldn't tell them much. Maybe in the Hutch/Skydog thread in history & trivia so it doesn't get so far lost? Thanks!
  21. I'm sure it had everything to do with a lazy throw allowing the pc to hang in my burble and tie itself up like that. I was jumping a GTi and had collapsed my wings fully to pull but fumbled briefly, then tried going head-low to clear the pc in tow but it was already inside out. I think a longer bridle would have made the resulting reserve/pc wrap worse if anything. I've made over 300 wingsuit jumps with this pc since and have had no problems with it being only 9' in any type of suit.
  22. Yeah, the monkey fist string end has been glued a few times and the mesh is not so white anymore, but that's mostly from Mudfest '05 (sorry J, had to!)
