  1. I went to Empuriabrava in Spain for my AFF and some consols. Great place, great scenery v.friendly many bars
  2. I think I've been through the same trepidation as yourself, in fact with about every jump on my AFF there was always something new to learn, something to worry about, from going out not being strapped to someone, to going out and doing different exercises to first solo jump.I can tell you with my vast number of jumps,19 now, that it just gets better and better. At various stages I would be thinking, I'll just finish the course then I won't do any more, then I'm thinking I'll only do the 1 or 2 to keep in date, then I'm thinking I'll only do the 2or 3 today and now I absolutely cannot wait for my next one.
  3. Good effort on persevering with it. I've got a total of 19 jumps but I know how it feels to struggle with it. I started out doing static line years ago but decided this year on AFF and it's been the right choice for me. My exits are still not good but as long as you relax into your arch it will happen. The important thing I think is to believe that by just arching and not overcompensating you can achieve a stable freefall. In fact, on my AFF, I was happiest doing unstable back loop exits because I knew the arch and stable position would happen anyway, so it was one less thing to worry about. Good Luck and stick with it.
  4. Just wondering if you are doing what I was doing. I've just finished my AFF and then had a 4 week gap. When I came back for the first jump my freefall was crap, because I was bouncing. I knew then that I was overcompensating and instead of trying to correct a feet down position I just relaxed into the arch and accepted what was going to happen, and lo and behold it worked. 4 or 5 jumps later my freefall is great, I'm really enjoying it and I'm now very confident. Good Luck
  5. Hello Everyone, Just introducing myself. I've just finished my AFF in Spain and wondering why I never started this years ago. Or I did start it years ago on the static line system, but what with lack of money, bad weather in UK and going out of date all the time I never kept it up, except for military jumping. Anyway, I'm working towards my BPA A licence now, just the hop and pop to do, or redo I should say. My exit from the Beech was not great but at least I'm nearly there, 19 jumps now. I had such a brilliant time in Spain including meeting new friends that I just think how could I ever leave this behind, and the guys at Dunkeswell in England were great as well. I'm really pleased I took this up.
