I thought it was hilarious when he got asked that "unscripted" question about what his biggest mistake was. He looked like he was going to cry.
-
Damn, which means my question asking how high that wall is in the video got deleted :-( Anyone know how high that wall is down to the height of the ledge that he tracks past?
-
Very true. I use all the recommendations you make on my own wireless LAN at my home. It's also worth noting that, from my personal perspective, the "risk" of someone attacking your WAP and breaking into your network via that route is much less than through conventional channels (i.e. vanilla network connectivity). I have performed over 100 penetration tests in the last 4 or 5 years and I have broken into over 80% of those companies. In only a few cases did I find that a company had *only* a wireless weakness, i.e. there was always another easier way to access their network. The threat of someone sitting in a car outside your building is overplayed by the media because it is a populist idea. My 2 cents.

Underloading an Eliptical?

My Cobat at 1.33 feels a little underloaded to me. I get end cell closure on opening fairly regularly. My 2 cents. -
They're all pretty much within walking distance of the bridge. You can always look them up on mapquest as well.

The TOP 3 Things People Seem to Lie about....but why?

The 28th of March? That's my b-day. How cool is that? That's kinda freaky....that makes 3 of us...3-28-76 here.. Mike You might be interested in this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthday_paradox -
True. I was making the point that the example of learning climbing by "bouldering" at 1000 feet doesn't really apply, since you can BASE jump with much less risk than that.
-
But assuming that someone else packed for you, you could jump a round from a span over water as your first ever parachute jump, and you'd probably be okay. The risk would be minimal. The analogy of "extreme bouldering" therefore doesn't hold, because the situation isn't as black and white as your example suggests. If you read BASE 311's post, he seems to be saying that it can be done (BASE without skydives), since he's walking talking example. I applaud D-dog for challenging conventional wisdoms. Ultimately however, each person will make their own decision as to how to prepare for the sport: either by skydiving or not. The discussion is therefore somewhat moot...
-
So did you skydive subsequently?
-
This seems to indicate that you don't think skydiving is life and death. IF you really think that way, it's probably a good thing you don't skydive much. Do you think driving your car is life and death?
-
Totally agree. Really nice to see positive publicity.

Yeah, it's dissapointing from BR. Still, they released the tailgate into the public domain, so I guess they're about even :-/
-
I'm still waiting for the pilot-chute analysis that BR did on the hundreds of jumps off that particularly big building... Never been published, as far as I'm aware :-(
-
That's initially counter-intuitive but then makes perfect sense. Really interesting stuff.
-
I read somewhere (I think it was here) that the only reason BR don't recommend the tailgate on silder up jumps is because they worried about the tailgate catching on the mesh of a mesh slider. Given that, would there be an advantage in using a sail slider with a hole (like PD use with their reserves) to allow the use of a tailgate on terminal delays? I'm not sure of the rate of incidence of a line over, slider up, and so I don't know if it would be worth it or not... Any thoughts?

Well there's this little thing that the US administration has built called an "alliance" (albeit a small one) which includes both US and UK soldiers. And by the way, I live in the US and only about 100 of my jumps were made outside the US.

What did you want to be as a kid when you grew up?

Maybe when you're 90. i.e. 10 years time. -
Your argument is so full of holes it's practically collapsing in on itself in a gigantic black-hole of bullshit. You're saying that the relative validity of an argument that is described in a book can be determined by how old the book is? i.e. if it's an older book it must be more valid? That is absolutely absurd.

You're so funny. Come on. You believe in what you are saying? Tell us where you jump so those of us who disagree with you can avoid that DZ. You aren't going to have much credibility until you tell us where you jump. I never said that I smoked. For the record I don't. The people I was referring to in my examples actually jump at a DZ on the other side of the country. And there is no way I'm telling you what DZ I jump at. If for no other reason than you want to know :-P -

Well, not everyone reads every single post on all the forums. If you're going to slag off the Democrats and you feel similarly about the Republicans - at least take a second to say that. Otherwise, people might think you were biased or something ;-)

The only claims he made are about the budget and deficit. Are you disputing that? Check his post history. WHy do you keep on saying that? If you want to say that I've not substantiated something, kindly link to the specific post and I will address it. You're the one who sounds like a troll.
