  1. Why not? It illustrates the institutionalized nature of their behaviour.
  2. Because those facts show that they have a history of killing people in error.
  3. You've got to be kidding. If you're hit with a metal baton it will only "lightly hurt" ? I'll get hold of a metal baton if you'd like to try it. Now whos the one getting alittle emotional about this conversation? hmm Andrew step away from the keyboard and back away from the debate.. you've obvisouly lost the battle to remain objective about the whole conversation. Just take a break dude... When you can explain to me how getting hit with a metal baton (or in this case, with several metal batons for 10 minutes) only "lightly hurts", then I'll take a break.

  5. I will kindly disregard this personal attack against my intellegence and view it as you loosing your temper. Get ahold of your emotions and join the discussion with constructive debatable facts. Mmmm... smell that passive aggression. I will reiterate my point because you failed to grasp it. You have said that past events are irrelevant in this case (your post #33). To my mind, you are therefore choosing to be ignorant of the facts. The prior events in Cincinnati where black men have been killed by Cincinnati police are not irrelevant to this case, nor are the millions of dollars that the City of Cincinnati have paid out in compensation for those cases.
  6. If you're going to state something, state the FULL something. Yeah, but he is also dead because he was beaten with batons for 10 minutes.
  7. How can you say that the past is irrelevant? I suppose ignorance and irrelevance are synonymous in your mind.
  8. Those statements are a confusion of the situation and unrelated to the facts. I have no idea what the circumstances behind the previous 17 incidences were, or the facts behind the settlements. What I do know is, I saw the video and the guy was hit in his legs and lower torso in an effort to stop him. The police were careful not to hit his head, and his cause of death, last I heard, was unknown. But it might have something to do with his enlarged heart and the dust and coke coursing through his veins. BTW, I'm an outspoken liberal. But I don't try to distort facts or bring up unrelated issues to make a point about a specific event. How did I distort the facts or bring in unrelated issues? If a black man is killed by police, is it not relevant to investigate prior occurances of that event?
  9. Oh, those "outspoken liberals" and their "race card" are an abomination aren't they? But how about your gross over-simplification of the situation and your ignorance of the facts? - Jones was the EIGHTEENTH black man to be killed by the police in Cincinnati since 1995. - The City of Cincinnati have had to pay out over three million dollars in settlements to the estates of two black men shot by Cincinnati police in incidents in 1999 and 2001. 10. The first set of people who made the claims against him accepted his proposed settlement. If they wanted to go to court there was nothing stopping them. They chose to take his money instead. He could have rationalized his "buying them off" as you put it like this: "Well, even though I'm innocent, the media has tried me anyway, so there's a very good chance the jury won't believe me even if I provide proof, so I'll go to jail in any case. So, while it's not a perfect solution, paying someone off without actually being guilty is better than being found guilty even though I'm not..." People make false accusations all the time and it ends up destroying people's lives because people like you are so happy to lap it up.
  11. The only stereotype I was refering to was the steroytype of someone who will happily convict someone before their trial. (That would be you, since in your posts you describe how you want him to be put into a cell with other prisoners so that he'll get his face "broken in two").
  12. He hasn't been convicted, and yet you have already convicted him in your own mind. How about if we just string him up? I bet you'd like to give him a good old fashioned hanging, right?
  13. Oh I see. You want to start a conversation about Michael Moore's new book, but you aren't willing to summarize anything in the book for the readers here, so that we have something to talk about. That kind of leaves your little thread dead in its tracks. Have fun talking to yourself. Pardon me for daring to show interest in a liberal theory. Why did you bother to mention it (in bold type), if you weren't willing to talk about it? Mmmm... you really are from Texas aren't you.
  14. Your comments weren't 'called for' either but it didn't stop you from posting. Seems like a hypocritical double standard to me... And how does me not replying make me a 'little shit'? I think that says more about you... not me.
  15. It's not about killing people? You and I obviously have a different definition of war. Is this how we "help people who have no one else to help them?" - Up to 15,000 iraqis killed in Iraq invasion: http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,1073070,00.html Over 1,500 violent civilian deaths in occupied Baghdad: http://www.iraqbodycount.net/ibc23sep03.htm Iraq faces severe health crisis: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3259489.stm
  16. You'll see from my post that I wasn't refering to any of those events, I was refering specifically to the current events in Iraq. I don't believe 'freedom' has ever been realistically threatened by Saddam or Iraq, hence my post. If anything, I think that the US forces being over there is encouraging more of a threat to come into existance than was previously there.
  17. That's strange, I don't remember asking anyone to go over to Iraq and kill people for me.
  18. I have to say, I agree entirely with this sentiment. The pragmatic reality is that the social and political dimension that always exists means that the proposed rules would only rarely be enforced.
  19. There's this crazy idea called privacy, which apparently you disagree with. The forum rules don't require anyone to post ANY public information about themselves. Your post is a flagrant attempt to create a culture whereby people are ostracized for not posting their info - which they are NOT required to do by the rules of the forum. It saddens me to see people's opinions being shot down on these forums over and over again because they "only" have say, 100 jumps. To propogate and to attempt to institutionalize the idea that everyone should post their jump numbers and other information out of "politeness" only contributes to that viscious cycle.
  20. If you look at BR and CR pcs youll notice a different in the mesh.At least my 46´zp av pc from CR and my 42´zp av pc has different mesh(CR use bigger holes) also the BR pc s i have has a different zp than CR(looks like CR use more "new"zp than BR) i dunno if theres has been reserach in this. The pc´s i talk about are the once you helped me whith Tom,so they were brand new both as i discovered this.I had no problems by either of them. Following on from this, does anyone have a preference for which vented PC they prefer? Tom?
  21. Er... huh? What are you talking about? You're making zero sense.
  22. Well it is 2AM here, give me a break. What was the question?
  23. But you DID say that about "french genes" back in post #126 of this thread: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=718243
