  1. Well Tim that rig just doesn't want to make a full cycle - I am just about ready to order an Icon/Pilot/Smart - hopefully I won't have anymore of those spinners with that combo - and it should fit nicely on a Vampire. I really haven't had a problem with the cobalt until last weekend most of the openings have been close to on heading and if I had any twists it would only be 1 and clear itself. So yes Tim it was the same rig you used. The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  2. I had one of those on Saturday too! Ted, Bob, Doug and I on a 4 way -- I was under my reserve by 2k. Let me know when those suits come in and we will all fly together again. Voodew The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  3. Man, where do I start.....Yes your wife is having an affair - I know this because it is with me - sorry man I know we are friends, but hey friends share right. Just for the record she does scream your name at that time. I am sorry about the car I had a few to many beers and had to pee I should have known it would be corrosive. Just remember never loan out your car or your chick as your buddy could throw a rod in either one of them !!!!! You post whore!!!!!!!!!! The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  4. I personally own 3 cobalts in the 105 & 120 sizes - you will find as reported there are 2 different kinds of cobalts the good opening ones and the bad. I have seen this and even seen the customer support to there dealers (who quit being a dealer because the customer support sucked). With that being said I love my cobalts and all of mine open and fly great. I would suggest demoing both canopies and then making yur own decision - these forums can be informative in a certain aspect but you must wade thru the bullshit to get there. I personnally would jump/buy either canopy and not be dissatisfied - don't limit your choices to just 2 if you are ready to go higher performance there is the Crossfire 2, Vision, nitro, nitron, and the list goes on. Demo everything you can get your hands on (next spring) The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  5. First off good job in saving your life - you did what was required and no one should second guess you. From your post you don't clearly say that you have line twist- if you did have line twist you don't unstow the toggles because only one might unstow - you would then have a spinning line twist malfunction. From your post you said that the canopy was spinning - at your level you did the right thing - you tired to counter the turn with the risers it didn't work so you cut away--it is possible that you had a toggle come unstowed on opening but with out knowing the canopy type that usually results in a fast turn not a g-force pulling spin. You did what you should have - great job now get back out there and graduate. The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  6. Continue to stay defensive - don't look at what is being said - it will never be productive as long as this attitude is kept by the "instructors" The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  7. Thank you you seem to be able to put into words in one post what I am trying to say. You understand that wingsuits are not mainstream like for instance freeflying/ swooping/ or even RW coaching - and a suit costs $1000 a wind tunnel costs 3,000,000 and never will be mainstream if something isn't done to change it. Thanks for actually opening your eyes and listening Glen at least I didn't piss off every wingsuit flyer trying to get my point across for nothing - too bad your the rebel flyer and not Jari,Scott,Chuck or some other flyer who can actually do something about the short comings. Since the point will never be seen by anyone except Glen or myself (and the ones that lurk and pm me) I will sit back and wait - - I am now tired of the bitching-my fingers hurt - I am disappointed in the defensiveness of eveyone involved when I am just trying to change things for the better. Everyone have a nice week. P.S. - Dropzone.com is not a tool to try and get a point across - it is very hard to write down what is so easy to say - The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

  9. My personal favorite is to have a friend tap your buddy on the shoulder while he is packing when he turns around have your bare ass right where his face will be! Works everytime as ass is funny - nutsack too! The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  10. I have never even talked to you before but you are the kind of ass I am talking about I called Tamer at his house and asked him personally to come to Texas as we had met at Ballunar ealier that year. You were never even in the loop so your trashing of Tamer shows what an ass you are. And for those of you who want to go into the background well here is my phone #512 773 4988 feel free to call -- I do have a family so be somewhat respectful for them as the times of day you call (it is a cell phone I have it 24/7) The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  11. Anyone that has ever done anything for me has always been thanked or compensated in some way shape or fashion - You think you have done something for me? What come to my home DZ and make a few jumps with us poor Texas folks while you were in town- It was fun to jump with you but you didn't do shit for me! Devon Shows taught me how to be an AFFI on his time at our DZ - he is an unselfish great ambassador for the sport - He gets my services for free at anytime (I am an A/C and heating tech) he did something for me. Birdman on the other hand hasn't done shit for me. They didn't give me a free suit or a free alti or a free container or any of the things you were given, I bought and paid for all of my gear. The BMI that taught me came to my house and taught me to fly a wingsuit, went home with the same amount of money in his pocket that he arrived with. Tamer my home is always open to you. The rest of you who feel I owe you or that I should kiss your ass because you were in the right place at the right time in your skydiving need to get over yourselves, remember why you started to instruct in the first place and go back there! And as for the its not all about money thats where your problems lie, its about bring more people to life! If you haven't figured it out yet I don't care how you feel about me - I want you to understand how to make things better - quit being so damn defensive and listen - give a little more of yourself back and help more people taste flight. You cannot tell me that after reading all of these posts you don't see any of the short comings that are being brought up - admit it and try to fix it thats why your one of the BMCIs - you have the power and the pull to talk to the ones in charge - use it! I am a pro wingsuit/skydiving advocate not an anti- anything To Deuce : I know I was harsh I take it back it seems that you actually get it: The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  12. Cross the street if you see me. I hope your not mad now I hate to be threatened -I won't misspell your name again! Sorry Voodew The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  13. Your mis information - I won the certifacte that I have never received fare and square by putting the $70 in raffle tickets which I had planned to put in the wings raffle(didn't have one this year) into the birdman 30% of tracking pants because it was the only thing I could possibly use and no one else other than Ted even dropped a ticket in the bucket so you should get over it. And why shouldn't I win it I'm not a BMI, I don't work for Birdman Inc. I knew that none of you would ever try to help out without making a profit, the writing was on the wall I just called you out. You still don't get what needs to be done and you and Chuck as the ambassadors to the wingsuit have a slight respondsibility to do your job. And the horse is not dead as you wish. You talk and talk about how a BMI is like a tandem rating - well this weekend I would bet over a thousand tandem first jump student took to the air I would bet no more than 10 first time wingsuit pilots. The comparasion is not even close. As for the AOT thing I did it this year I'll do it next year and probably will still pay Todd for all of my jumps(I didn't have to) as I do it for love not money***take lessons! Until the tune changes the horse will continue to get up no matter how many time you try to kill it - If it weren't for change we would all still be jumping rounds! 14. No line was ever drawn I simply said that Birdman should publish all the information as too their recommended training guide lines. There was never an increased liabilty issue, if you pull your head out and go and read, it was a decreased amount of liabilty for me to take up a first time wingsuit flyer vs. an AFF student where it is my job to safeguard thier life. Not so for wingsuit instruction. Every BMCI/BMI and Florida/California wingsuit pilot wants to jump in here and say how great Birdman Inc. has been--look at the big picture the rest of the U.S. The rest of the U.S. gets no support try to get a BMI to a "smaller boogie(you know the ones with 2 otters and a tailgate or just a tailgate)" it is like pulling teeth - you ask birdman they send out an email to all BMI's - you get no response. Than you start to plan how your going to buy/beg and borrow suits since you can't get demo suits. Jumpers are lined up to take there first flight say 7 to be exact and say so on this web site. Than 12 days before the event you have spent at least $500 to pull off this event one of the BMIs decides hey I can make some money here and tries to shoot your ass out of the saddle and ask for money to get there food and lodging. Luckily the DZO already knew the time and money spent to pull off the event from my end and turned him down. I am in the hole about $500 from the event and had the best wingsuit time of my life we taught / we flocked and we rocked. I was asked to publicly say I was not a BMI as to not mislead anyone to think I might know what I am doing. I charged my slot to do this (and execpted tips). Texas will soon have a decent sized hand full of wingsuit flyers and to all the BMIs who didn't want to come to Texas you missed out on 5 confirmed suit points and probably 2 more shortly- Might I have an axe to grind *maybe* am I anti Birdman no, Birdman built the suit I fly, just wish they would like to expand from the coasts. Am I a little anti-BMI-money-hungry-set everything up for me and I will come if I have time--umm hell yes!! I was not able to accomdate all the people who wanted to fly a suit because I can't get demo suits and cannot afford to go out and buy a lot at one time, but I made lots of jumpers smile! I am sure that not all of the BMIs are able to travel but there are a few that do stuff like that every weekend, this is directed toward you. So before all of you big giant east and west coast jumpers want to jump in here and add, look at the big picture(as someone asked me to do) the big picture is the rest of us poor non giant dz working stiffs who on the weekend go out and try to show new flyers and students what we love to do on the weekends. As for you who make a living skydiving well good luck- I was smart enough to figure out what a bad idea that would be from jump AFF LVL 3. The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  15. There ya go Duecey try to taking something humorous and turn it into a slam -- way to go oh thats right once again another east or west coast jumper putting in their 2 cents. And by the way I changed parts of my interests just for you! Go back and look. And since Duece for some reason has posted all of my information if anyone would like my phone number just ask I will make it public too. Duece why would you take that information and bring it to this post are you just having a hard time finding anything worth while? Duece you have a nice day bro. Edit to add: And I never said that there was an underqualified BMCI or even BMI so get you facts straight. What I said was unless they were going to make a lot of cash its not worth their time to help the expansion of wingsuit flight - with the exception of when they are around on other business. 16. As per the 2005 USPA SIM: C. Qualifications and preparation Back to Section 6-9 1. Before attempting a wing-suit jump, a skydiver should: a. have a minimum of 500 freefall skydives; or a minimum of 200 freefall skydives, made within the past 18 months, and receive one-on-one instruction from an experienced wing suit jumper b. completely read and understand all documentation and training information provided with the wing suit c. have the ability to perform exits and skydive in the deployment position described in this outline before making a jump with the wing suit 2. Training by an experienced wing-suit flyer should cover the following topics: a. gear selection, especially canopy choice and the deployment device b. rigging and wearing the wing suit c. aircraft pilot briefing and skydiver heading awareness during wing-suit flights d. aircraft exit techniques e. basic flight techniques for wing-suit flights f. deployment procedures g. emergency procedures Well it looks like the USPA has decided that us 'closet instructors' are good enough. Now since the BMI rating is going to be worthless why doesn't Birdman post all of the information they think is needed so we can all benefit from it. Sorry all of the scare tactics didn't work - as for the liability I assume 10 times the liability taking up an AFF student than I ever would teaching someone how to fly a wingsuit and telling them on the ground that I am not there to pull for them just to give hand signals if needed and feedback when we get down. So I guess I will continue building my own fleet of demos and move forward helping others taste the flight of the wingsuit as per USPA recommendations. Thanks to Tamer Baker for taking his own time to provide me my start, too bad he has left the sport to become a fighter pilot. If anyone wants to educate themselves http://uspa.org/publications/SIM/2005SIM/section6.htm#69 Remember before you instruct know all that you can and confirm it is correct before you pass it forward voodew The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

  20. I would go to alti-2.com and ask the manufacture as an altimeter is a very valuable tool in regards to knowing where the hell I am before I would trust anyone with a theory on this site. They will be very helpful and respond within 48 hrs if not sooner The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  21. As I said before I am done! I will not respond how I feel any longer. The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  22. I guess I am just lucky that my wife is willing to put up with my skydiving--My household will never suffer so I can skydive thats what the second job is for. As for being a fulltime skydiver Texas is mainly a weekend only DZ and I don't consider skydiving as fulltime its not a job its a hobby that helps pay for fun jumps and the 2 children are in my custody for your info. As for the house- so the lawn doesn't get the attention it needs. The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  23. I am done - I will wait until things change - I don't agree and know that others don't either so I guess we will agree to disagree! I am sorry to those I offended it was not meant in malice If any wingsuit pilots want to get a BMI in Texas let me know - Waller crew jump often when your suits arrive ya'll be ready in 6 - 8 months Chuck the offer still stands or to any other BMCI Scott I did have fun that 1 jump I got with you when you showed up, if your ever back in town I will drive to you! (Waller will soon have some good flyers there and there is no DZ in Bastrop) Jason "voodew" Weisberg Skydive Temple Texas USA AFFI The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  24. It is extremely hard for me to be away from my family--during the AFFCC I drove home every night and drove back every morning. Why? because I am married and that is what my wife wants - call it pussy whipped or whatever she doesn't give me to much shit about being gone all day Sat and Sun every weekend so I give her this as she wants. As for students seeking out instructors I don't know what culture your talking about but it damn sure ain't mine - you have it made stay in Florida and Birdman will make you another BMI and soon every DZ in Florida will have 15 BMIs and the rest of us will still run bandit operations until the USPA steps in and changes things because we can't get 3 peolpe together to take a BMI course due to the fact as they are not as popular here because there is no backing. If we had more birdz we would have more who want to be instructors. This is why I would pay to bring them to me - in a way I am seeking out the instructor I am just wanting to bring the instructor to me instead of going to them. The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
  25. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In Reply To -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wingsuits are very popular overseas probably due to a few common reasons First money is a little more freely spent there, but more importantly due to a smaller region and more wingsuit instructors. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think you're a long way off the mark with this. I was mainly meaning Europe not Africa---Sorry to be unclear As for all the BMIs chiming in-look at the instructor list they are all east and west coast with Eloy in the middle. Can I fly to Deland or Eloy yes - will I-- NO! I didn't do it for a coach or AFF rating and I won't do it for a BMI rating. Look at the list of instructors maybe it is time to branch out - why won't you find 3 instructor canidates because there is no promotion in the center of the US Regardless of what day of the week the course is doesn't matter I have a real job during the week to pay for me to skydive-along with a wife and kids that depend on me to be home at night - no I won't leave the state of Texas and shouldn't have to. Maybe Chuck and Scott shouldn't be the ones to come to the smaller DZs where they won't find 3 instructor wannabes may be it should be the ones who would benefit from the sales of the new suits that would follow. Not the ones who use the profits from the instruction courses to pay bills Chuck and Scott you find these threads as a personal attack on you as BMCIs they are not, they are aimed at changing things to further the sport. It seems to me that the bottom line is money-Chuck you said"if I am not likely to break even then I won't come"--Well I personally would reimberse your expenses to come and give me personally a BMI course - at a break even - I will provide you with a 6 month old $20,000 RV to sleep in and take you out to eat each night, flight here (coach) and free beer. You will leave with a free vacation a few jumps and new friends - thats all - now you break even completely I will wait for your reply I would like to see more BMIs to help more jumpers experience wingsuit flight I do not think that the unpaid sponsors of Birdman should have to spend money to do this yet I think the company would benefit from trying to make it easier to get more instructors rated. I also would love to hear about all things I am doing wrong on every jump - do I think I would learn a lot hell yes I do. There is no substitue for experience - you have it I want it! I love the flaming and telling me how I know nothing about anything - of course not I don't live at Deland or Perris The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
