IMHO, I disagree. Both disciplines complement each other. Both require an awareness of flying your body which will help out with the other. Have you ever seen Omar fly on a rw jump? He is awesome as are other top freeflyers flying on their bellies. Why would that be? Liz

Yup, they were talking about it a couple of years ago. I can't remember their names though. Liz

I have a selection of good ones: Look Busy, Jesus is Coming (with a pic of Jesus) You're Just Jealous Cause the Little Voices are Talking to Me. The Liver is Evil and Must be Punished. Earth is Full, Go Home. Don't P##s Me Off, I am Running out of Places To Hide the Bodies. Please Talk Slowly, I'm Blonde. Liz

Like you I don't get most American humour, although there are a few programmes out there that are really funny - House (new medical show starring Hugh Laurie), Family Guy, Malcolm in the Middle and Arrested Development. Haven't got cable so don't know any others that may be around. I think that the difference is in the use of subtlety. Liz

3rd Annual Dropzone.com Skydive Arizona Holiday Boogie
skykittykat replied to sangiro's topic in The Bonfire
Put me down as well! Liz -
I am going to dig myself in deeper here For some reason when I picture the bishop I call it the knight - always have done since a child. I thought when I dyed my hair back to brunette I would lose the whole blonde moment thing - obviously not

Not all in the same move - I was talking about my first 3 moves. I do understand you only get to play one piece per move.... Liz
-
Depends upon whom I am playing against. A couple of pawns and then either a horse or a knight. A Spanish sunset, chilled glass of white wine and a game of chess, mmmm. Not quite at the championship/geek (

Have you seen the last edition of Star Mag - some of these celebrities look rough as without makeup - they would scare children and puppies. Liz

I think that everyone should have a choice. Airports for example, should have smoking room. Hell, if I had a pub, I would have a separate smoking room. If people want to smoke, they go in there, if not, stay out. Why should smokers be discriminated against when there are obvious solutions for keeping everyone happy and in a healthy environment. You choose whether you smoke or not. The thing that bugs me is people who want to give up blame everyone else, ie other smokers, smoky bars/restuarants, etc. If you want to give up, give up. It is all about will power. No excuses. Banning cars - too much money in oil to ban them, but I do see Red Ken calling for the banishment of Chelsea Tractors in London, through higher taxation.

When the fire alarm goes off at my Backpackers (always a false alarm), it is usually at night. Everyone is gathered on the pavement outside in their pyjamas clutching their passports and cigarettes/alcohol. Yup, those are the most favoured things to save according to travellers Liz

Vote for DJ Mick Knutson from BLiNC Magazine/The BASE Board
skykittykat replied to mickknutson's topic in The Bonfire
Hey Mick How ya doing? You got my vote. We met last year at Eloy when you were doing the instructors course. Anyway, I was the chick in the bunkhouse. Liz p.s. the vote e-mail is going round the UK as well from a friend of mine. -
Where to go at the end of January?
skykittykat replied to JohnnyZ's topic in Events & Places to Jump
The Exotic SkyAdventures Boogies are awesome. Their next one in Uruguay is from Feb 18-Mar 05. If that is not an option - Eloy!!! Not only does Eloy have awesome facilities - planes, hangar, landing areas, bunkhouse/team rooms, bar/restaurant, etc, it has the weather, fantastic load organisers/people and of course, the tunnel is due to open fully on 1 Feb. OK, I am biased.... Liz -
I missed the All Blacks vs France on bbc.co.uk, sob, sob. What a score!!! Anyway, BigWay, you put your money on the Aussies and not the All Blacks - traitor - see where it got you Liz p.s. my job is cool - I don't work day to day anymore, get paid and skydive whenever I want!!! Seriously, owning a Backpacker's rocks and love working there and having built it up to where it is now am on an extended holiday.

I was being lazy in asking on line

A Kiwi batting for the Aussies??? Just joking. Am an avid All Blacks suppporter and I suppose if they aren't playing, then go for second best.... I think it will be a close game. I wish I could watch it instead of doing the live score thing on bbc.co.uk. Liz

Just a question - why is it this year you need a minimum of a USPA temp membership to jump at the Eloy boogie when in the past it was not needed? Has the USPA changed it's rules? Liz
-
Definitely won't be open by the Xmas Boogie. ETA is middle to end of Jan. Liz
-
Am planning to introduce his Santa song at Xmas in Eloy, although I think the Bent Prop would be a better idea due to the fact that the hangar may contain kids... 2nd favourite is the kids demanding a smoko song. Liz

Richard Branson did start his AFF in the UK. On his first level, instead of pulling his main, he pulled his reserve (it was a one handle system). He also did the same thing on his repeat jump. Apart from his lack of awareness of which handle to pull, he did some amazing gymnastics, got away from his instructors and pulled on his back. He didn't finish his AFF at that time. If you can watch the Wally Gubbins videos then Richard Branson's AFF is on there. It is one of the funniest footage ever taken. Liz

Thanks Rosa, but the weather hasn't held. We didn't even get one jump in today as it was cloudy, then windy. The past 3 days we did 8/9 jumps a day, so that was good. All in all, the camp has been great and we all did some awesome jumps and got pushed out of our comfort zones, which was challenging to say the least, but lotsa fun . Liz

RANT AND RAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
skykittykat replied to dgskydive's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hey Dom Anyone who knows you, would not think for a moment that you would have sold someone something totally wrong for them. I know you are an honest person who cares for jumpers and their safety. Liz -
Thank you sooo much Emma - will pm you with my needs! The camp is going really well, although we were weathered out for the most part of two days . Back into it tomorrow for round two Liz

As far as I know this is the only dz in the UAE as Sheihk Mohammed owns it . They are generally busy on their weekends (either Thursday and Friday or Friday and Saturday - can't remember which two days it is). Try phoning them when you get to the UAE or just before. Liz p.s. check out the gun club across the road - you can shoot AK47s, hand guns, etc.
