  5. All that and............ RPC owes BEER!
  6. Everyone's given you lots of good advice here about tunnel camps, skills camps, etc. One other thing to look into after you get all these new skills is a "Rookie Class" competition in your area's skydiving league. Last year I was on an Introductory Class team in the Carolina skydiving league. The rules were that everyone on the team had to have less than 300 jumps except one person who could have an unlimited number. The meets for this class were only 4 rounds, and the dive pool consisted only of 8 random formations. The first point was always a meeker and then there were 2 more points for 3-point skydives. The skydives were simple enough to allow you to be successful and see steady improvement throughout the year. Plus, we had a BLAST. All the Open Class teams are more than willing to help you engineer dives because they are so excited to see new people competing. (Of course, in the Carolina Skydiving League, we're extra lucky to have the Golden Knights as coaches!) If your area league doesn't have this "beginner" level, talk to your league director and see if he/she would consider adding it on a trial basis. Have fun and blue skies, Michelle
  7. Definitely take AggieDave up on his offer to demo those Sabre2's. I've put about 250-300 jumps on mine (135 wingloaded at about 1.2:1) and I love it. There are folks are Raeford who get incredible swoops on their Sabre2's, and there are folks like me who just want to fly their canopy like they're a grandma driving a big Cadillac! Everyone I know with a Sabre2 LOVES it - from people with a few 100 jumps to people with many, many thousands of jumps! Blue skies, Michelle
  8. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, of course!
  9. I really should have studied harder in my English Dialects classes. I'm not entirely sure I know what this means but I know enough to be SCARED!
  10. Yo, Pusher, can I get me another hit of that nylon crack? Check it!
  11. No worries for civilians. Kate and Tony always put together a civilian team to compete unofficially - Raeford Military Academy! But the weather hasn't cooperated the last few years with wind and rain. We weren't really excited about paying to jump in the miserable conditions so we just hung out at Aviator's and drank beer and watched all the crazy people who just couldn't stop jumping because it was free!
  12. Well, SkyOne came to our camper Monday morning (10ish?) saying "We are here. Give us your beer!" I think it was an early Trick-or-Treat thing! We are NOT sucking in Raeford!
  13. MMMM Crack is GOOD! Our Crack Pusher ROCKS!!!! Michelle
  14. There are old skydivers, and there are bold skydivers. But there aren't very many old, bold skydivers. Michelle
  15. We miss you too, ! It was great to see you. Can't wait 'til you're home for good! Be safe over there and keep smilin'! Love ya, Michelle

    Yoga!

I've been doing Ashtanga for about a year now. I totally agree with what Zennie had to say about Ashtanga being a great all around workout. It's also forced me to learn to be more patient. My teacher says you have to think about progress in your yoga practice in decades! I find that funny 'cause most of the people I've met through Ashtanga are classic Type A personalities like me! In my opinion, it is best to find a teacher. I tried yoga at my local gym and that wasn't really cutting it. Then I tried books and videos. A good book on Ashtanga is David Swenson's "The Practice Manual." It is spiral bound so it easily lays flat while you're trying to read and do the poses at the same time. His videos are also very good. I suggest starting with his "Short Forms" video. After these, I was hooked on Ashtanga and found an ashtanga yoga studio and teacher. I enjoy the "community" practice much more than videos. Good luck in your practice! Michelle
