quick story, round jump #85, I was sit flying in some borrowed gear. all of a sudden it felt like there were no leg straps, I flipped onto my belly. At pull time I grabbed onto the risers thinking that perhaps, incase something went weird & they fell off or something I'd be able to hold on. I believe that's the gear fear you speak of. I KNEW those straps couldn't've come off, they can's slip off your ankles w/o noticing, but still.... happy to say, everything was fine, just the too big for me gear was much more loose than I was use to. I check, double, triple, near 12g, on jump run, walking toward the door & sometimes even in free fall... you can never check enough I believe. That's not to mention the intense going over the gear gets at least 2x/day to see if there's any snag/pulling/freying or tearing happening. There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. I understand that the seller is in possession of my payment description in the amount of $xxxx to be considered payment for this gear. Seller will not cash such payment until I've instructed them to do so, until 2 weeks have passed without my communicating with them or if the gear is damaged while under my care. or [a specific date giving about 1 month to demo] has passed. If buyer does not want to purchase the canopy, return shipment to the seller will be paid by buyer (insurance included). This is a much more simple paragraph, however it leaves the buyer's position open a bit. I agree w/ you and do prefer this language (as the seller obviously). There is no can't. I'm goal oriented, but that's cause I'm so new, everything is a goal to me - YEA A 10 POINT 4 YEA, YAHOOO!!! Now my goal is 11 points. But in the mean time I also want to get in a sit jump w/ at least 6 cross-front grips & learn to do cartwheels, so that 11 point belly dive'll have to wait. I have at least 400 more jumps & 2 yrs at least before I have to worry bout ratings & the like. I don't know what goals to go for after that cause I don't think I want to compete - this is my fun sport. Adtually, my original contract stated that the payment would be cashed if there were any damage to the equipment - the only prob is if the seller then wants extra money for depreciation due to 10 demo jumps or the like. It can get fussy & small claims court is a bi*ch considering smaller sums of value. But I thought it was a nice contract to give generally good people piece of mind. I'm not 100% sure where this post belongs. I'm just sharing it to hopefully ease some pain/concern in buying/selling gear to someone you don't know. I purchased used gear from a skydiver far far away from me and had a shorter version of this signed. Now I'm in the process of selling such gear. I've also asked a few people if I could demo their gear; their understandable reluctance influenced me to wright a more complete contract. The person I'm currently selling to helped me refine the contract. Here it is: I, Seller's name (Seller), am in receipt of $xxx in the form of a [type of payment check, money order, etc.] (check, number xxx, etc.), from buyer as payment for [specific gear, ie. Saber2 150] (gear identifier ie. serial # colors or something similar). I will not cash/deposit said check unless instructed to do so by buyer, or if there has been no word for 2 weeks and said gear has not yet been returned, or [a specific date giving about 1 month to demo] has passed. Buyer will be responsible for any damage or loss of the gear while under buyer's care. The gear will be considered under the buyer’s care upon safe arrival of gear at buyer's dz or other local and until returned to seller's dz or other local. I, buyer's name(buyer), will take possession of a specific gear (gear identifier) upon its safe arrival at buyer's dz or other local. I understand that the seller is in possession of my payment description in the amount of $xxxx to be considered payment for this gear. Seller will not cash such payment until I've instructed them to do so, or until 2 weeks have passed without my communicating with seller or returning gear to seller's destination or [a specific date giving about 1 month to demo] has passed. I totally agree w/ you on the non-rocket science. He just didn't like to bother & would rather go buy some cheap t-shirts if he ran out. For me, it's fine, I hate laundry too, but his is only jeans, shorts & t-shirts, everything is washable execpt his 1 suit & that oges to the dry cleaners. Other than the time it takes (1 night/week), laundry is much better than cooking (every night) imo!! Our relationship is all about splitting the sucky stuff evenly (both good & bad suckysucky). Wow - very similar to the situation I've got set up. Execpt he only cooks & does the floors, but those are the 2 worst home duties imho. I do laundry & dishes. The rest is split bi-annually. I'm not kidding you, my 30 yr old b/f took his laundry to his moms home 1x/week until I started doing it - the man has done 2 loads of laundry in his life!! I've only seen a ripcord deployment system @ a dz in another country, I didn't even know what it was. Wow, I've done so many of those - thinking it's jumpable & remembering I'm @ work & can't jump is the biggest one. Also reaching to do practice pulls on my backpack, before realizing it's just a backpack. My fav oops was this: after getting off the commuter train from work, I was trying to cross a road & this guy in a car stopped to let me cross. Have fun - I have 4 screws in my little finger. The scar tissue healed to the ligament ontop of the finger & it will never be able to bend as far down as the other fingers. If I punch w/ it it hurts bad!! It hurts in the weather & if i rake my finger accross something - I'd rather have it cut off. Well, if you have slots available & this jumper wants to come pay you money to make fun jumps - what's it matter if that person works for taco bell or another dz? this jumper is not making the dz any more money than some random instructor that happened to move into town. there's a difference between business & relationships. you can have a business relationship & a friend relationship; it's how you handel the 2 that decides if its a friendly business relationship. That is absolutely rediculous!! I can't believe DZ A did that. Here in the close to Chicago area there are 3 thriving dz & one new tandem factory dz in near Wisconsin area. We all share & share alike, tandem masters, course instructors, vidiots...etc. In fact, some of the dzo's of all 4 will go jump @ the other dz if something fun is going on. We pretty much get along. There's never anomosity - well, not amongst most people anyway.

I love & live in my flip-flops!! I hardly make any noise, but sometimes I aggrivate myself w/ the noise & i HATE IT when someone can't control their flop. You just have to learn to walk correctly. I agree w/ Katzeyes - if you know how to do it, it'll be smooth as silk. i have lotsa pairs, you learn what kind of thong will & won't work between your toes, kinda like the other thong that you hope won't give you toes. These ideas are all so great. However the parts protruding feel about 3 inches wide going down (laterally) pretty much the whole reserve tray & they're very hard.
