Viagra is covered under insurance policies as a normal RX benefit. The problem is that contraception was not always covered as a normal benefit, however, most insurance policies did cover it. I believe that BC is such a big deal because government assistance pays a lot of money in prenatal care, WIC, and food stamps for these women. Abstinence is free, BUT NOT FUN :P Sorry, I am a hotblooded 32 year old female, and like many, I want to get laid. Yes, I would like to get laid sometimes without worrying that I must become a parent every time I get off. Skydiver Survivor; Battling Breast Cancer one jump at a time. Everyone's birth control has a different cost. I have a copper IUD, it was placed by a gyn physician for my office visit copay of 35$. My copay includes office surgery like IUD placement, mole removal, and foreign body removal/stitching. So for 35$ I received 10-12+ years of effective birth control. Wal mart and Target have 9 and 12 dollar generic BC pills for women that use that particular brand. Unfortunately, patches, Nuva ring, and certain name brands are FAR more than 9$ a month. These poor migrants just want passage into the USA
FreefallingCari replied to regulator's topic in Speakers Corner
For the record, I am not a Christian, BUT I am personally charitable and donate to many causes.. I am not certain about where you live, but in my area Churches have been very generous to the homeless. This is without prejudice to their religion, they may be non Christian. I donate to homeless shelters, and donate suits and clothing to the employability projects we have. Suits for interviews, that type of thing. I find that when the government offers charity, or assistance, it seems to occasionally do more harm than good. In this situation, we need PEOPLE to take action. Like I said, I have no clue how to handle this perfectly, but I believe I have a few good ideas. I am not conservative or liberal, I consider myself independent. I appreciate many of the concerns and causes that each side has. I can tell you that I do not blame the children. These young children did not manifest the idea of coming to the US by themselves, they were taught how to do this. I would be more than willing to foster a young child in my own home, to offer my personal charity until they can return home. I have a very special place for children, even though I have chosen not to become a biological parent. Skydiver Survivor; Battling Breast Cancer one jump at a time. Assistance to control violence does not mean sending them CASH aid. The US has a big problem with throwing CASH aid around without a game plan. We can offer police officer training, consulting, etc.. While this requires financial resources, it is not like a band aid of just handing out cash. I am not a strategist, so I do not know HOW to help, I can only think of ways to help that are not a "band aid". I do consider our border crisis to be a BIG problem, and we must take action. This is going to cost us some amount of money financially, but I do not believe in just handing them cash and say "fix it". These countries obviously do not know how to fix it. I never said make decisions, but some people need guidance and a push to care about issues like family planning, education, poverty prevention, and employment. Some people do not know any better because they were never taught any better. Education is power. Encouragement can help break the ice. Maybe someone's parents do not care, but we can encourage and really push others to care. Example: I volunteer to go out to impoverished communities and distribute information, at a 5th grade-8th grade reading level, which is intended to educate the community about healthcare. We distribute vaccination schedules, free bus passes, cards for people to help with employment, and literature on family planning. We give out free condoms, and invite people to take advantage of free STD testing services. This I believe conveys my meaning a little better. It really does not matter who is President of the US, someone is not going to be happy. You cannot elect 1 person which will make everyone happy, someone is going to be butthurt and pissy about it. The answer to this crisis is likely going to have the same reaction. A decision will be made, and some people will not be happy. What *I* would like to see is Churches take action and put their money where their mouth is, offer charity and assistance.. There are a lot of Churches with a LOT of money.. What I would like to see is all of these people who say "Let hem stay", without understanding that it is not sustainable, to help house the people. This is going to take a group effort, this is not going to be something the government or state can singularly fix. Skydiver Survivor; Battling Breast Cancer one jump at a time. I hate the liberal and conservative labels, because they do not accurately define ME. I will give my 2 cents. What if the Native Americans had told the US founding fathers to go back to their shithole country? All types of people have fled shitty existences to make their lives, or that of their family's, better. I believe it is hypocritical of the American Spirit, of our very own history, to push NEEDY people away without regard or help. Does this mean instant citizenship? No. I am not calling for instant citizenship. What I am calling for is a reasonable way to assist these people while we figure out what we are actually going to do to FIX it. Throwing money at these people will not solve anything, but neither will sending them back because they will cross again. We spend far too much money in other countries when we have BIG problems here in the US. Our borders are "under attack", so to speak. What we need to do is handle this crisis with their home countries, offer them assistance to control violence, and make sure their citizens can return home. I am not a strategist, so I do not know HOW to help another country control violence, but I know that helping these countries would help our borders. The fact is that many people may "know better" than others. Yes, I do "know better" than a lot of people, but I also know less than a lot of people. I have a college education, good career, and general ability to think logically. Not everyone can do that, so they may need more guidance and more of a push. Is that the style of question your response intended? I want to make sure I understood your response. Skydiver Survivor; Battling Breast Cancer one jump at a time. I think I love you, simply put LOGIC at it's finest.... I am a woman, but I am going to just blurt out and say it. I am not one for political correctness anyhow. There are FAR too many women that come from emotionally, sexually, or otherwise, damaged upbringings. These women often either do not care enough to take responsibility without it being handed to them on a silver platter, or they simply do not know any better. They see having children as a way of being accepted or loved, gaining attention, and of course "WE" pay for it. "They" do not have to pay, medicaid 100% covers childbirth. The truth is that we have women living in the US that simply do not give a F#@%. They may be lazy, uneducated, or both. Now, rather than have them breed and continuously have children, why should we not hand them contraceptives on a silver platter and pay for it. Logic says "Hey, these people do NOT need to be popping out babies, so as a logical society we need to step in and actively prevent it." The benefits of subsidizing BC are many. BC rx each month, 9-100$. Pregnancy care, childbirth and delivery tens of thousands of dollars! Taking responsibility for self is something I 1000% believe in. What we have to acknowledge as a society is that we have people are too ignorant, uneducated, or lack the drive, to give a F@#$. Sometimes we have to mitigate the damage, and paying for abortion and BC mitigates it. Skydiver Survivor; Battling Breast Cancer one jump at a time. LOL. You will have to excuse me.. I have Aspergers, which means that I tend to take things quite literally UNLESS it is blatant snark or sarcasm. I am a Nurse with a variety of experience. I do volunteer at a free clinic 4 days each month. What I find in many cases is that people will pay 400-500-600$ dollars a month for a car, but balk at spending as much on their health care insurance. Sorry, but IDGAF about cars people drive, they do not impress me nor create internal feelings pf jealousy. I drive a 2008 Kia Rio LX I purchased brand new for 8k. Before that my 1994 Toyota Corolla. I prioritize health ins, and now skydiving, over certain material possessions. People need to learn to prioritize. Skydiver Survivor; Battling Breast Cancer one jump at a time. As a Nurse and a woman who has had 2 abortions within the last 12 years, I applaud this. I do want abortion to be treated like any other medical procedure. You may not realize this, but minors do have certain rights when it comes to healthcare decisions. Birth control, STD testing and treatment, do not require parental consent in any state. If a minor's family does not believe in "modern medicine", a minor can choose to take action to bypass parental consent laws. For example, There are parents that would not allow blood transfusions or lifesaving treatment for cancer, but the minor desires it. Abortion is treated in the same manner. A minor can take action through a judge, called a judicial bypass, to consent for herself to have an abortion. Abortion is one of my soapbox issues ;) Skydiver Survivor; Battling Breast Cancer one jump at a time. I went to my first boogie in May =) I stayed from Tuesday-Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I earned my A license in February, and by May 27th I had 90 jumps. I did close to 30 jumps that week. I got in my first 8 way-12 way. I really love RW for reference. I too was nervous about canopies in the sky, although the DZ is large, but I kept my eyes and ears open. It was a BLAST. Tons of beer, Luau, public nudity, etc.. The typical fun I like to have. -Eyes and ears OPEN -Watch the experienced, respected jumpers. I took myself off of a load when I saw one particular skydiver do so. Enjoy! Skydiver Survivor; Battling Breast Cancer one jump at a time. I am in NC as well. I drive down to the Chester SC DZ, SkydiveCarolina. Great people there. It took me 4-ish months. I did 3 tandems, then immediately went into AFP that 4th week. I went 3 weeks in a row to jump tandem, LOVED it immediately. Weather was crappy during my AFP. Constant rain, low clouds, and days of high winds complicated my jumps. I could only jump Sunday, usually, so that limited my days. I was determined to finish though. I jumped in FREEZING cold weather and loved every minute of it!! Once I was in freefall I felt no cold at all. I am a freshly minted A license holder.

My husband's intense fear of height's?! My husband does not skydive, and while he just cannot get why I like it so much, he 100% supports me. He bought me a NEW rig for the holidays. -

You feel nothing? Do you look forward to it? I can tell you that I just finished everything for my A license, I am freshly minted as of yesterday! I bought my own Rig and gear on AFP level 8. For *me* it is therapy. I feel free, relaxed, and just plain HAPPY while in freefall!!!! It never gets old, and I cannot wait to do it again. Maybe it is not your thing. Try a few more levels, where you play around with instable moves and docking, then see what happens. Skydiver Survivor; Battling Breast Cancer one jump at a time. Not all men want to get clipped. They feel it changes their manhood, or what have you..
