I, too, learned to skydive at the GBSPC in 1970/71. I started jumping a 28' flat circular LL (you had to be approved to move up to a 7 gore TU) -- later I jumped an old worn out ex-USAPT Mark I PC. Back then I was really hot jumping a PC. In 1971, we jumped out of an old Otter, occasionally a Huey, and often at Raeford. I was later a member of the Trojan SPC club on Ft Devens (10th SFG). I was at Bragg when the 18th Abn Corp club closed and I will freely admit that although I was in SF, I jumped most of the time with the 82nd club -- almost every weekend! I have a strong suspicion that aircraft flight hours might have been a bigger issue for the clubs than anything else. It's really too bad. Particularly now that Special Forces will be putting 100% of new SF volunteers through HALO (MFF) school and knowing how difficult it is to remain current and skilled at freefall in the various active SF Groups, having the parachute clubs gave us another means of keeping up with our skills. I will miss the clubs...

I started skydiving in 1970 but I've been out of the sport for more than 20 years. I decided I needed to buy a top quality, custom made jumpsuit. After lots of research (I manage a 1200 server, nation-wide IT network -- I live by research), I picked the Michigan Tetris suit. I went to the website and ordered exactly what I thought I needed (note that price is important to me). Almost immediately, I received a note from Mike stating that he had looked at my measurements and concluded that I didn't need part of what I ordered -- he said he had already reduced the price to make the change. When he was making my suit, he sent me a text and asked if the measurement I sent him (a specific measurement) was really accurate and asked that I measure again (I did, he was right, my measurement was off). A bit later, he sent me a text and asked if I wanted some additions (at no cost) for specific colors and components, I agreed with some minor changes and he continued work. I took delivery yesterday -- it's extremely well made, it fits great, it looks great, it was delivered on-time, it's exactly as I expected and more! I never expected to communicate directly with Mike, but I did. This felt more like having a friend make something for me rather than some anonomous vendor. I can't say enough good things about my new Tetris, about the process, and about Mike personally. Mike: THANKS FOR MAKING ME A GREAT JUMPSUIT!!!

Has anyone ever used mini 3-ring risers on a standard sized 3-ring harness? Just curious... Does it work?

I own an older Talon rig that is solid except that it really needs a new/larger harness. Anyone out there have any suggestions about who could do a harness upgrade for me? thx, Scott
