  1. What do you mean, you get weightlessness whatever you're jumping out of, whether it's a 182, otter or balloon. Relative wind is a horizontal component, and is independent of the vertical acceleration and velocity.
  2. No, the forward speed does not restrict acceleration. In vector addition, there are two components, horizontal and vertical, and both components are independent. You would accelerate downwards as fast jumping out of an otter, 182 and baloon (assuming you have the same position)
  3. Does it count if I do a 1 man Asian bigway Never thought I'd hold a record in my life!
  4. Congrats, great to hear you had fun!
  5. Former iFly Singapore regular here until I moved
  6. Wait, do you mean Special Operations Forces Industry Conference? Cool
  7. You're asking for Google Glass, and either way people don't want a low quality camera (even a GoPro has 'good' resolution) I'm sure there's the technology available, just that no one is willing to spend the money. We have stuff that trains astronauts. You realise how massive the first project will have to be? Engineers, physicists, parachute consultants, sure, we can have it, but find someone to pay the money.
  8. I don't agree with the direct styles of the above two posters, so let me explain it to you
  9. And don't you wish you could be one? Sparky What do you mean? I'm the head lemming
  10. Yes. At the moment I actually take their shuttle but I hope I don't overstay my welcome, especially once I'm no longer on student status. Haven't found anyone to carpool with though. To the rest, if you can or know anyone who can carpool, would appreciate any help! (:
  11. Maybe it has to do with the fact that in a headstand you're supported by your head while flying head down you're supported by your legs
  12. I can't comment about tunnel, but you realise an aeroplane jump is maybe 30s of freefall? I don't think people pass out that fast. Also, I wonder whether the fact you're exercising (using your muscles) has anything to do with keeping the blood circulating to all parts of the body.
  13. You're kinda right, but you realise you're only arguing from the paperwork perspective? That's why we should have minimum standards. Why do you think auctions have a minimum increase, else everyone keeps on increasing by 1 cent. If we could have state records from 1 skydive a day to 10 skydives a day, each record breaking the previous by one, you think anyone will take this seriously? Is it really that unreasonable to have a minimum of 12 skydives to qualify for the "most skydives in a day" record?
  14. I can't really remember my dreams very well, I'm sure I've had quite a few weird dreams like just completely random stuff happening but nothing like REALLY REALLY crazy
  15. Everyone seems to know each other I don't know anything about airtwardo other than he's a demo jumper and has grown kids
  16. You must be kidding me. There's no way being a packer is better than being an engineer. Sure, if you're in Australia, plumber/electrician is a good alternative but comparing a 'bad' physical job like a packer to whatever a degree has to offer is plain wrong.
  17. You know, after all this discussion, working in a tunnel does seem like a much much better way to start.
  18. Thanks for the info, sorry my bad. I stated above, my experience was with Guinness World Records and their rate of $20,000 to break a single record sounds like a money grab to me. But what Boogers says about a person being a bureaucrat and not a record holder still stands. At the very least minimum standards should be moderately difficult to achieve (eg, minimum of alternate loads in a day).
  19. I second your opinion. And I suggest you ignore the other user, who 1) hasn't addressed your concerns about having a signature on the profile or 2) tried to change the topic by asking why you haven't filled your profile (you're not obligated to).
