Hi Guys, I have not updated the list but I have made three A's (Which by no means make me think I have any experience.) I have done 1 stowed and two hand held. I am judging by the other posts that B's are for experienced base jumpers. The reason I am interested in this one is that, it is The only tall one near the area. I believe that they (the city) intend to put more of them up. Once again I don't feel qualified to make the type of decisions of what is safe and what is not. I was curious to see if there are no other structures above two stories near it would the turbulant winds be a factor. Also any sort of advise, including don't do it Jack$%& , is invited. I just started but I do believe this is going to turn into a habit. Thanks Mish

Howdy, I just looked through posts concerning buildings, and I would like more information concerning them. Lauch techniques, and wind concerns for example. I am quite sure that off heading openings will be mentioned. Not to sound rude but I already have that covered. The building in question is fairly isolated(the only tall one around) and it is 400'. The people I intend to go with are experienced but I would like to arm myself with as much information as possible. Thank you, Mish

Absolutely, thanks for the reply.

Gotta question, Been flying a 98 Xaos-27 for the summer and I love it. Generally opens great and flys pretty solid for a weak swooper such as myself. Yesterday I took a whoopin like I have never felt before. I was watching a student track after a normal coach dive, I did not track. I threw out and then I woke up. I got knocked smooth out. Fortunately the canopy was flying happily downwind when I came to. I hung out at half brakes while I waited for all of the little stars to disapear and inspected the canopy for rips or broken lines. Every thing appeared to be ok. Finally my question How often do those lines break soon after something like this has occured. Secondly how many jumps do the average HMA line sets have in them. Before they need a changin' Thanks Mish

I have been stowing my slider under my chin for a while now because I dont like the way it feels while looking around behind my head. (it feels like it is riding up without constant pressure) My question is how do y'all lock the slider in place behind the head? Now that I expand my chest strap, the thing about chokes me out. I tried to keep it behind my head with the chest strap all the way out but it still rides up without the before mentioned pressure. I have heard that Brian Germain has a cool locking system on the back of the rear risers. If it is not copywritten I would love some input so I could make that mod as well. Thank you Mish

Other than partying and bigger stuff, what do y'all have planned for jumps. I would love to do some 4 way. If there are any like minded cats out there pm me. Mish -
I just bought a 98 and I am a fat boy(230lbs) I wouldn't have tried it but Chris from Precision, said they fly big. I jumped it for a weekend and bought it. Its that awesome! I was cutting through 20kts of wind like butter. Since then I have flown it in a no wind conditions and I love it. Even when I come straight in, it surfs. The front risers are a little manly to pull down but this is my first X-brace. The openings are great, and consistent too! So far no complaints. Mish

Sorry about the mistake, I was responding to the original querry on the post, and the interpretation I took was he was seeking help with the formations in the dive pool. I appreciate the help though. I knew I could count on a informed response.

Hey Brother, Though I am not a guru of FS, I have found the Motion coach program very helpful, you can get it through omniskore. That in conjunction with Airspeed 99, GK 2002, Marios' web site, countless hours of studying, you should get fairly comfortable with the dive pool. I know that some of the blocks have changed, as well as some of the randoms, but it helps a whole lot better than the very sterile diagrams that the IPC puts out. I do not think thats all you need but it is a start. Nothing can replace a good human coach. Good Luck, Mish P.S. Airspeeds CD ROM is also awesome. If there are any I left out I am sure someone will waste no time in correcting me.

Hey Brothers and Sisters, You want to be careful when purchasing the Michigan suit. Me and my Buddy both bought comp suits. We sent in the measurements with a slight buffer, for the Va. winters. My suit was a little small and the nylon(for the front piece) he used was zero p fabric. I wore it in Florida in January and it was so hot I would sweat through it and it would stick to my skin. My buddy's suit was way loose and the booties sucked also (way too big) My booties were a little loose as well. We were bummed because we went so far as to send a shoe each so they would fit well. Mike also designed the booties to have a spandex strap to keep them tight to the bottom of your foot. I don't like that because at the end of your swoop you gotta slide a little. The strap made taking them off under canopy a bear! The upside to this story was that I called Mike when Iwas down there and he took the time out to meet me in Flagler Beach and he took a few measurements and offered to make me a new suit at cost. ($150.00) with a polycotton front. He said that he had to make a new suit. There was no refund offered but I understand that I got what I ordered. Just call him first if you want a nylon front and insure that he is not using that same material. The suit he made for me has about 300 jumps on it and at least 8 hours in the wind cone at skyventure. other than the bottom layer of the bootie everything is fine with the suit. I know the opinion was unsolicited but I am a skydiver I had to pipe up Good Luck Mish P.S I am not roasting Mike he was very cool and helpful

The latest development in the news about the 1ST ANNUAL NO NAME BOOGIE at Skydive Suffolk, is that it is going to be sort of a Big way camp. Guy Wright is going to be organizing and basically trying to get set up for the Va. state record. So all you big way jumpers from the area should definitely attend. If Big ways arent your thing, there will still be raft dives, hoop dives, other inflatables. Helicopter jumps on Sat and Sun. So put this one on your calender APRIL 4,5&6th Oh yea, I forgot to mention the FREE BEER and Bon fire on Sat. Hopefully I'll see y'all there.

Thanks alot, I am going to try that for sure. I thought about the 3 in and 5 out but didnt quite remember what rear rear was supposed to do. That and I am a vain sob and thought I could pull off some high speed manuvers Hopefully next week I can write y'all back, telling you how great the exits went. Mish

Hello DZ.Commers I need some opinions on exits out of the otter. I would like some detailed bomb proof exit positions. We have recently aquired an otter and you could fill a thimble with what I know about bigger exits. I tried, in vain, to launch a stairstep (4 out and 4 in). Each attempt flailed. Any suggestions are welcome. Peace out! Mish

I was in Sweden last summer, the weather was perfect and we were jumping out of a AN-28(nice climb rate, small tailgate, 20 plus jumpers) The spots were great and I was charged 10 bucks a jump because I was not a member of the club. I dont know what it costs to be in the club. They let me do AFF thereand accepted my USPA credentials. This was at Skydive Stockholm about an hour North of Stockholm. The DZ was friendly and everyone spoke English which makes it easy for a moron like me. I would say that the level of skydivers there was also very good. Nice bunkhouses and a communal(spelling) kitchen. I would go back in a heartbeat. Good luck hoped that helps, Mish
