  1. Jumper was seen to have a foot entangled with his main canopies lines and tried to cut the line but was unable to do so. He fired his reserve and it entangled with the main. He was unable to clear this malfunction and landed with the canopies entangled.
  2. Jumper exited at 1200 meters and did not pull his main. The reserve was activated by the AAD but at too low of an altitude to work.
  3. As jy niks konstruktiefs het om te se nie, hoekom probeer jy nie 'n slag jou bek hou eerder as om die eerste afbrekende belediging wat in jou kop opkom uit te blaker nie? BTW - I dare you, hit me with one of your insulting remarks... Safe swoops Sangiro
  4. Jumper was in a swoop meet and appears to have missed a riser or toggle during his approach. This caused him to do an abrupt turn at approx 45 feet and he struck the ground at high speed.

The jumper was making an accuracy jump during the Slovak league competition on the Spiska Nova Ves DZ. He jumped from the plane from 900m. His pilot chute stayed in the elastic pocket, but main container was opened and the main in the deployment bag fell
  6. Jumper was jumping into a beach boogie and did a 90 degree low turn into the water. The force of the impact was enough to kill him.
  7. Deuce my friend, thank you for letting me borrow your second rig for the duration of that boogie. You were a good man and I'm sad that we won't be sharing any more laughs and stories. My thoughts are with your family. You'll be missed. Safe swoops Sangiro
  8. The following scam has been reported: Click here to read more about these kind of scams. Remember: DO NOT do business with anyone who offers to send you payment for a higher amount than your selling price with the understanding that you'll send back the balance. Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be acting on behalf of a "client" or another "customer". Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be from Nigeria or West Africa If you agree to accept a check payment, then do not send anything, gear or "change" before the check cleared. And be careful, if you manage to clear a fraudulent check then you may be liable for the damages if the bank finds out later. Make sure your bank authenticates the check. If it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is.This username has been disabled. Safe swoops Sangiro
  9. Hold your horses there! You're out of line. We spend an enormous amount of time going above and beyond what's expected of any public site to alert our users about possible scams. We've implemented functionality that makes it impossible for users who have registered less than 3 days ago to contact sellers. We post a warning if a seller has only recently registered and immediately placed an ad. We have set in place functionality that makes reporting scams easy and quick. We have a forum where, once we report a scam to it, the post will be echoed on the classifieds page as an alert. We include a link in the footer of EVERY email we send when somebody contacts you via the classifeds to alert you to our Security articles in the help section. Most public sites will put up a page telling you to be careful, use common sense, and then distance themselves from any and all transactions. In the end it is YOUR responsibility to check the credibility of any buyer or seller... not ours. Just like when you buy a newspaper, see a classified ad and decide to contact the person, the responsibility to protect yourself from getting ripped off lies with you, not the paper! That ad was taken down as soon as we were convinced it was a scam. That in itself does not prevent people, who have already contacted the scammer, from dealing with him/her. I receive emails on a weekly basis from people asking me if I think there is a danger in contacting a user to "see what happens" even AFTER we've marked an ad as a scam! We will continue to do our best and err on the side of caution to protect our users from scams and scammers. As a "total newbie" you may want to consider not burning too many bridges up front. 10. Jumper appears to have made a low turn to land in the predeclared landing direction on a day with light and variable winds. The actual wind at landing was coming from a different direction then the declared direction.

  15. The 51-year old man was one of six jumpers who jumped into an event. His main opened correctly. He decided to do a turn on a very low height and collided with an earth wall. He died there in spite of immediately help.
  16. The jumper made an uneventful free fall descent, deployed his main parachute at a suitable altitude, remained ‘up wind’ of the intended landing area until he commenced the final ‘down wind leg’ of the descent. At a low altitude, probably below 150ft AGL h
  17. Jumper exited at 2000 meters, pulled at 1800 meters, flew the canopy as normal until the cross wind leg then appeared to lose consciousness. Landed without any further canopy control input onto the pavement and then collided with a tree.
  18. Details are lacking but it appears he was wearing extra lead for swooping and turned too low for the extra distance needed with the higher weight and impacted prior to getting the canopy level above his head again.
  19. Come up with something more creative or go be bored somewhere else. Safe swoops Sangiro
  20. During an off DZ landing the jumper made a low turn in which the canopy was unable to recover to level flight prior to striking the ground.
  21. This experienced skydiver and BASE jumper jumped off a tandem paraglider in his wingsuit with the intention of flying along a hill side then flying into a valley to open his parachute. After he jumped it took a few seconds for the suit to start to fly, as
