  1. Yes I believe you can if you contact them before it is cut, you can have any color as long as it is white (for the internals that is).
  2. I can concur that one must turn lower in humid air than in dry air... Not a lot for me (30 feet or so), but definitely enough for me to drop the initiation or vert the entry. Why? I am not sure. But that is not what is important, what is important is scoring the gates!
  3. How many freeflyers dos it take to change a lightbulb...? 5+. one to change it and at east 4 to film it... lol
  4. Rubbish! If a comp velo performed at 69 or 65 square feet then they would have them most likely. The plain and simple is that they do not. There are sub 70 Peregrines I believe because that design can actually fly at that size. As was mentioned earlier, 75's are about as small as you can go and still get any sort of decent distance on a Velo. Even the 75 is much less popular than the 79, if the 71 and 75 flew well there would be many more of them. What ever wins comps and breaks records will sell, and at the moment the parachutes winning comps and breaking records are less than 70 square feet.
  5. IHI Bupa will cover anything except motor racing and Antarctica expeditions. they are an excellent service.
  6. This is where the wings (and a bit of a back track for a couple of seconds) will help you and a bit of practice you will simply stay with them the whole time. Nice one!
  7. The 72 I jumped packed very small indeed, stupid small. My Jvx 74 packs very tight in V304 with longish closing loop needed and the Leia 72 packs very loose. So small that I had to make the closing loop as small as it could possibly be.the pack-job was soft as a sponge. I do not think you will have any issues with having the sail material for the internals. In fact I believe some people are going to have to buy smaller containers when they get their Leia if they have 306 or bigger. what container/size do you have?
  8. Do you think this problem is exclusive to tandems?
  9. So when you remove your arms from the free-fall position and have your hands in to pull handles and deal with other complications you 'might' end up head low. With a complicated mess with little drag behind you and/or a freaking out passenger in front of you, you could even end up on your side or back... here is one incident. http://www.dropzone.com/forum/Skydiving_C1/Incidents_F14/Bag_lock_on_Sigma_P4155226 there are more.
  10. meanwhile in Ukraine the self imposed criminal governmnt is killing civilians with military airstrikes and the west backs them... Who are fucking terrorists now assholes!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjFHYdX-CqQ The first minute of this video shows military aircraft engaging on a urban area, when the government has denied this. http://rt.com/bulletin-board/163248-rtnews-june-3msk/ The following minutes shows Barack fuckwit Obama supporting the government attacking it's own people. It seems they are provoking Russia to intervene... This could get very ugly very quickly.
  11. and you an officially order them as of today No longer a prototype.
  12. This is what the TPP brings to the table. yes tobacco companies suing countries over anti smoking laws, I hope then that the countries will be counter suing the tobacco companies for the extra healthcare costs incurred by thier actions. If the courts were not bought off, unfair and unjust, then I would not really be opposed to this so much as it would probably balance out. But since companies like Monsanto have their ex employees and officials in the courts and FDA etc and similar occurrences from other large companies... Then this sets a dangerous precedent. I say put criminals in court, and those that abuse their roles however powerful should be exposed, tried and incarcerated (paid for with their own money).
  13. It does in fact impede popping up to a point where it is not as easy to pop up without scoring a 0/3. To stay low for 50 metres will inhibit your potential to rise so high, especially if you do not know what you are doing. Not like it used to be. I think the 50m bollard is a nice balance between stopping people popping up too much and injuring themselves and allowing people to pop up somewhat to get the longest distance possible. I think it is only a matter of time before the stay low 100m bollard will be implemented however as the distances are getting huge again. Just imagine how far the top dogs would be going with the old rules now...
  14. Totally agree... In the past before the water touch, these incidents were also happening. One thought they could attack the gate and get more distance. Now you know you have to touch so will be more inclined to set up for more horizontal movement while passing through the gates... Well that is how I see it anyway. I also believe the 50m bollard has saved some backs and ankles. But I do not think anyone is disputing that rule being good or not.
  15. Get a wing jacket. the is so much more range with wings. I can film anything from a 50kg tandem master with a 43kg passenger to a 105kg tandem master with 95 kilos on the front. flying in head up is the best for sure. you can get right underneath the slow ones which is not so easy on your belly, and for the fast ones you can get rid of the drag by bringing your elbows in and getting your feet right under you. It does take some practice but after a short while you will find much more range in head up than in belly. You can also practice folding the wings in and flying more with your back and head for drag and presenting for grips on the medium speed ones, which helps your head up flying on freefly jumps. Go front float as well.
  16. Hi Bill, Love your work. I prefer to have skyhook on all my descents now be it tandem or otherwise including camera jumps. one thing however is the weakness of the RSL/Skyhook Collins lanyard in a bag lack situation. Releasing the RSL in a bag-lock should be (imo) an integral part of training which it is not. There have been a few situations now that this procedure would have avoided ugly situations. The recent one in Romania comes to mind. Without a main it seems this system does not have enough pull force to shear the Velcro when a head low position is achieved. Can you comment on this to clarify your view of the matter?
  17. Did you ever try to get a Petra? maybe see how long the Leia list is in a weeks time... Sexy is sexy, you might like horned beasts but most of us like a sexy minx.
  18. There are also numerous cases of little tarts calling rape on guys they have seduced. There are likely many, many more legitimate cases of sex offences but all is not cut and dried. I feel sorry for the guys that have been seduced by these shallow little bitches. Imagine being lumped into that basket. I believe that if it is found that the girl (or guy for that matter) has lied about consensual sex and has lied to protect herself or for any number of reasons, then that person should be condemned to equivalent punishment of a sex offender. This is more common than many will be lead to believe.
  19. though a calculator is very easy, this is also very nice. A nice addition might be a lead weight and a total weight calculation so swoopers can adjust their weight according to an eight gains or losses.
  20. Yep more akin to a air bag in a car than a plane, when your air bag light comes on, you go get it looked at. Same goes here. I would like to know their rationale of not adding a speed option.
  21. Having jumped a Leia about 8 times I believe this attitude will change in time. Liea is a beautiful canopy and very predictable. Much like when the VX, Velo, JVX and Comp velo came out they were the best in the range and not for everyone... Same goes when stilettos came out (before my time). Like chris said, they are an efficient wing and feel bigger than they are. I demoed the 72 and usually fly a JVX 74, I will order a sub 70 Leia for sure but with a JVX I would not be so sure about that. Looking up at it is surprising as it looks so much smaller than it feels. I foresee that people will order Leia 90's etc and very quickly downsize to 79 etc. It is not that I do not recommend jumping a JVX or velo or similar first, it is just that this is what I see happening. The market for used Velos etc will become huge as people with them canopies now with lots of experience on them will upgrade to Leia and this will allow most people get their experience on learner X braced canopies like a standard Velo and for cheap. The 'new' market for these older style canopies will decline very significantly would probably a more correct term to describe what I foresee.
  22. Looks like both JVX and Velocity will become a thing of history very soon. Why would anyone want either of those anymore?
  23. Looks like this point is starting to take shape... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFHT68-nAM4 The rhetoric about RT can be left please. An intelligent person will address the subject...
