  1. Hey But isn't climbing out and hanging off the strut REALL a HANGING exit, still...? Can you DIVE off the strutt??? SOmehow, I can't picture THAT. That is what I AM doing now, But gotta do the DIVING EXIT soon....! Ya'all be safe up there and out there... AND HAVE FUN! Blues!- LiLa.
  2. Weird... Why wouldn't they schedule a night jump for a night with a FULL MOON...? Wouldn't THAT be a better idea for a FIRST TIME Night Jump???? Hmmm? Blues! - LiLa.
  3. PHREEZONE- Thanx! I'll be sure to check into that in the future. I really appreciate that info. Blues!-LiLa.
  4. KIY- REALLY, MAN! Ya seriously need to MELLOW OUT. For crying out loud- You live in the SAME TOWN AS THE DZ... You can easily GO ANOTHER DAY- Like ANY ol' WEEKDAY! Take your time. Enjoy what you are doing. Really. It's ALL good...
  5. Hmmm. VERY WELL PUT. I can understand THAT! PS I'm NOT trying anything new OR risky any time in the near future, TRUST me on that... BUT- Can you explain the procedure and factors involved in landing in a swoop? It'll give me something else to think about & MAYBE I'll try it too someday AFTER taking canopy course...!? Blues!
  6. Our's is a very small dz out of a hangar at a municiple airport. Please do not be so quick to bash the dz. We are not high tech with all the electronic gagetry of some of the super-duper dzs that some of you all are jumping outa. Sometimes it really is just a major blunder due to breezy winds at ground level and high ones at altitude. This seems to be common in our part of Michigan. In defense of Kiy. Who I know... He actually is a good jumper, who most likely got blind-sided by the real strength of the winds. PS Kiy- Be SAFE... If in doubt- DO NOT jump! -LiLa.
  7. How WILD!!!that MUST be... Only got weighless once in a cessna as the only one on...wasn't a jump run, either... That might make a difference. Getting ya up to get ya out...NOW that might be cool, But I don't like getting that queasy feeling in the pit of my stomach... Doesn't that make ya feel pucky to the point that it interfers with your jump?
  8. WHY/HOW would "launching" make me flip? Could I dive off, like a swan dive, without tumbling? Ya know, with body arched, arms to side, BUT with keeping my feet on butt. Would THAT keep me stable in a diving exit??? Winds have kept me grounded lately! But continue to visualize this diving exit... Ah Autumn and the "joys" of the impending COLD! NOT! Gonna HAVE TO get in aWEEKDAY JUMP! b/c somebody must be "ordering"up these blustery weekend winds! Whoever's doing that KNOCK IT OFF! Blues!
  9. Cool. Just read thru Dan Poynter's & Mike Turoff's book...and will be sure to check out Brian G's next. Blues! -LiLa.
  10. Didja get YOUR project done? You shoulda seen the group of rough looking rejects that stumbled into class this morning! We all looked around at each other and laughed! That's what we cronic procrastinators get for needing to stress all night to meet a deadline we've known of for weeks! Studid stressing like this! But still it's kinda funny... Blues!-LiLa
  11. Better get your beauty sleep! You'll get hours more than me, I'm envious! But I'm looking at probably another all-nighter to get a report done and turned in by thursday... AT THIS RATE, I'M GONNA NEED SERIOUS SERIOUS BEAUTY SLEEP SO AS NOT TO SCARE EVERYBODY THIS COMING WEEKEND AT THE DZ... Yikes! But can anybody ever really make up for lost sleep? -LiLa.
  12. Switzerland! How COOL! But, Ah, duh...I should've figured that out... I must be sleep deprived or something...! Think I'm gonna head out into the cold (we had a frost here last night!)and drive home to try to get a quick "nap" in. Nighty-Night! You Euros have a good day... &Wish me sweet dreams! -LiLa.
  13. HI i'm pulling an all-nighter trying to get a research paper done. It's done, and due in 5 hours. Wow.! I probably should go home to sleep, but now I don't think I'd get enough sleep to wake up in time for my 8am class! I BETTER GET USED TO THIS kind of dilemma, tho, cause this semester I begin my upperclass level of university courses and everything's getting harder... ALL CLASSES HAVE RESEARCH PAPERS&PROJECTS! [:/ Anybody sympathize with me? - L.
  14. I know this seems to be something everybody KNOWS... ...But ME! Please inform me, okay? I'm sure that I've seen it...MAYBE? But never has anybody ever talked it over with me or explained it. Somebody fill me in and give me the scoop on the hook turn swoop.
  15. Are diving exits really smooth? I didn't really care for the poised exit, like the hanging better, but still wuffle about some side to side. SO- out of a Cessna, can you just kinda, step out and LAUNCH yourself off the plateform over the wheel? I figure the least amount of time I spend getting ready to do the exit itself, the faster and easier it'll be. At least for me anyways! Blues- LiLa.
  16. Fireflyer- Thanx for your encouragement to jump whether it's solo or with somebody else. Just gonna learn to chill on being so objective oriented in my jumps & learn TO JUST HAVE FUN! I know that sounds funny, but when you've been so goal oriented, it can be different to just soak in all the sensations, just for the sake of enjoyment of the jump itself. It's all good! Be safe, have FUN! Blues- LiLa.
  17. Stable DIVING EXITS...! You're way head of me my friend! I gotta get those down yet. Plan on gettin at that this weekend.... It's all good! Blues! -LiLa.
  18. Heya Craig! Have you tried them yet? I did them a few jumps ago from 12,5 while I had a coach with me video taping it all. Back Loop (easiest for me) went by really quick, I did a pause, Then, tucked up my knees, threw my head and arms forward for a front loop. Returned to Belly to earth stable... Make a motion to roll out a bed, switch arms to continue the roll when youre on your back and then your belly to earth again. I was nervous about, it too. But start to end was only a handful of seconds. Period. FAST! You'll like it! Have a coach with ya could help a lot, maybe? Check it out, they are really awesome fun!
  19. Personally don't have 'nough jumps to do it ths year, myself, but went to watch last night. Very COOL watching them exit, and counting to watch the seperation of each jumper outa the cessna. They did real good last night. There was 6-8 jumpers last night. Fun to watch...Maybe next year for ME!
  20. You're COOL Richy. It was an awesome jump load, huh??? ..When I get it together, we all gotta do a jump together- AND have Mark, Jim or somebody?in on it to make it legite. SEE YA! -Li
  21. Now that I'm down-sized to a 220 from 280 pullin ghigher to practice with the different size chute probably is a wise idea. It REALLY handles differently! But I'm really interested in getting freefall time to get my skills and abilities better. Frankly, I'd love to have it both ways!
  22. Packing lessons started last saturday night with the dz's packer dude. I've made plans to continue learning with him. Sunday was crazy hectic and he couldn't help much. But he's said this dude, KIY, can pack well too... So KIY might need to give me some packing tips tooeven if it does eat into his profit margin! SEE YA! -Li
  23. Awww... They LIKE me...THey REALLY like me! Seriously, thanx Kiy. Did you really see my exit? How'd that look? LATE this fall... Or mayber a warm winter jump? Maybe we can do RW jumps. I think I'll "BE THERE" by THEN! PS: You jumping wed night? Blues- Li
  24. Thank you...You give me a really clear visual image to think about, and that's how this brain of mine thinks thru things of action or process...in moving picture images! I actually understand better, thanx. ...I'll email thoughts for input to my coach and work towards planning on doing those diving exits! Appreciate your input!
