  1. Just wanted to say hello to everyone and give a shout out to my instructors. I'm on jump 9 now but I've had two cutaways. My first one involved my brake line breaking when my canopy opened up. The line that ran up had broken where it goes from the single line to multiple lines. I had a good canopy overhead and tried controlling it using my rear risers having just worked on that the previous jumps and realized it wasn't going to happen. My instructor talked to me on the ground, they looked at the chute and said I did a great job. I went up again and my next jump was great and I landed on my feet. The very next jump I did, 2 days later, had a toggle fire. The kid that packed it didn't set the brakes and I had a line twist that i couldn't get out of and was 360'ing to the ground pretty quick. Once again I did my EP's and got a good canopy and landed on the ground safely. My nerves at that point were pretty shot and all I wanted was a drink. The most important thing that my instructor did at that point was get in touch with me the next day and say let's jump next weekend, we can do whatever you want. If it were anyone else I don't know if I would've gone back out. I'm not calling anyone out and I love the DZ, the DZO and staff. What happened to me was just shitty luck but everyone there was about as professional as could be and it's their attitudes that will bring me back there and keep me in the sport. If I have another cutaway before jump 100 I may need a bigger bottle though...
