I'm glad you made it. My Dad passed away about 2 years ago. I have 2 mementos I take with me on every jump - his old dogtag and a piece of his WW II parachute. Welcome shu. I am relatively new to skydiving too. I started with tandem because I didn't really think I was going to like it as much as I do. By the time I reached the ground on my first jump I knew I was hooked bigtime. I guess what I'm saying is try a tandem. You can go directly into the AFF program from there. Good for you. I drank WAY to much for WAY too many years. It ruined my marriage and almost ruined my relationship with my son. I admire you very much for having the courage and willpower to say No. I quit for 3 and 1/2 years and although I now drink again, I (so far) have been able to keep everything in perspective. Did you figure out what triggered it? My X got them big time. She learned to avoid red wine, brandy, chocolate, salt, MSG, perfume counters in Dept stores, and later she found bananas and raisins were also triggers. Hope this helps.
