chromeboy: I have not jumped in colorado but the cities of denver and saltlake are aproximately the same elevation. That being said we have three dropzones in the area ranging from 4000 to 5000' above sealevel. the normal jump altitude here is usually 12000' agl give or take a thousand that puts us at 16000' to 17000' msl. That may seem extreme to those of you living at sea level but for those that are aclimated to the altitude the thinner air is not noticeable. If you are coming up from sealevel you may whant to make sure the dropzone has suplimentary oxygen on the plane, I know the dropzone I jump at does. Don Death is so permanant, and just not ready for that kind of committment.

0:2:0 got one on saterday and one on sunday. It was cold as hell on saterday 25 on the ground -15 in the air, and ground winds at 12 to 18 out of the north didn't help. The olympics that is. I can jump this weekend at last! I haven't been able to jump for a month now since the airplanes have been grounded here in Utah. Not only that but I was called up for duty with the national guard for the month. You might think that would be ok to be on duty for the games, but we were stuck out in dugway proving grounds and not alowed to leave. Not only that but there is no tv service out there so we could not even watch the games. Oh well its over now. On another note I read in skydiving mag that there will be a competition at elkmeadows ski resort. I just about droped on the floor laghing from the article when it said the skiresort closed down last year just for them to jump in and test it out. The fact is the resort never opened last year at all. If there is anyone on here that will be there let me know I'd like to meet you.
