  1. My husband and I went to AAC this past weekend. It is an incredibly fun place to fly. There are no walls, which presents a challenge, but flying in and out of the airstream adds to the fun of flying there. The air is fast and clean and the view is awesome! If you haven't flown there, do yourself a favor, book the time, and make the trip. jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  2. http://www.bodyflightconcepts.com/ might give you some constructive information about this, but from what I have learned, you are looking at AT LEAST a million. jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate

    Perris

I was there this past Thursday. If they are closing the facility, there is no outward indication of it. In fact, the evidence suggests otherwise. The instrutors had just gone through a training session. I had a very positive experience while I was there and some great instruction. So, thanks Steven and others. Keep up the good work. jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  5. We just got back from the Perris tunnel. The instructors were very friendly and helpful. We got instruction in sit flying and back flying from the instructors. We stayed to watch "employee playtime" and they were spotting each other head down. One mentioned that they had just finished some training. We had a very positive experience and the Perris tunnel. If any Perris instructors read this, thank you Steven and the others who were working on Thursday evening, June 8th. jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  6. Hello all, I have to go to CA for business in June. The tunnel is about 30 miles north of where I will be and I will have some free time. I was thinking of booking some time there. I can't seem to find rates on their website. Anyone know the cost of block time there, like 15, 30, or 60 min blocks? Does anyone know how quickly they fill up? I know at SVO during peak time, they fill up weeks and even months in advance for block time. At SVO, the instructors were really awesome about helping me progress with my back and sit flying though I bounced off the walls a lot. Are the instructors at SVP as good about letting people try new things even though they might be like a ping pong ball in the tunnel. Are the good at working with freefliers or better with belly fliers? Are they willing to let 2 skydivers with 3+ hours of tunnel time each fly together in the tunnel? Thank you in advance. jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  7. Happy 1 year anniversary Tunnel Pink Mafia! Thanks Paige, Dawn, Rosa and K8 for all that you wonderful women do! Thanks for creating such an awesome, loving sisterhood! Lets keep spreading the love! jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  8. If I wasn't 16 hours away, I would be there in a heartbeat. People, you should go to this fundraiser for a variety of reasons: 1) The adorable kitties at the tunnel are there because the charity was kind enough to get them spayed and neutered 2) The charity needs funds in order to continue their awesome work 3) Tunnel flying is fun! 4) You get to fly AND help a charity for less than the time would ordinarily cost 5) Paige, the organizer, is awesome! Nuff said, so get registered for this event and have a blast! jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  9. I second that! Have a great day Paige! You rock! jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  10. Very sad. Terry was a great mentor for me as well. I'm glad I gave him a big ol hug the last time I saw him a few weeks ago. Fly free Terry! You will be missed. jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  11. DEFINITELY get some coaching from Paige. You would be foolish not to. She is an awesome coach. I learned so much from her!!! She is really easy going and encouraging too, so if you get frustrated with your flying, she will pick ya back up, dust you off and make ya smile while flying in the tunnel. jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  12. My best educated guess is John Suiter. See this thread at TunnelFlyer.com for details! jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate

  14. I actually remembered that my husband and I saw this rugrat at SVO the last time we were there. I don't know who he is or how old he is, but his dad was in the tunnel getting some training. This kid just had a blast! I am sorry for the quality of the pics, but they were taken through the glass. If this is your child and you don't want this picture posted here, let me know and I will remove it. Or, if this is your child and you want better copies of these pics, let me know. jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  15. Wow. I love this thread! I don't have any pint sized cuties to post pictures of, but keep on posting people. I love looking at these pics! jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  16. Don't worry. Paige is small but mighty. She will be able to get out of your way if she needs to. She is an amazing flyer and an amazing person. You will have tons of fun! jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  17. Has anyone else been getting e-mails about the Argus AAD from the e-mail address: william@argus-aad.com If so, do you have any idea how this person got our contact information? Also, do you know how to get off of their mailing list. I am not interested in this information or this AAD. I don't want to simply reply to the e-mail ask to be removed because I don't want to show "william" that this is a live e-mail address. Thanks for the help. jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  18. I am NOT a tunnel rat, by far, but I have some skydiving and some tunnel flying experience. It is FAR easier to fly in the sky. There is a much larger margin for error in the sky. So, if you can do it well in the tunnel, chances are that you will be okay at it in the sky, but not necessarily vice versa. jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  19. I am a skydiver who migrated to tunnels via my skydiving. I was excited to try out the tunnel and amazed at how quickly I was able to learn things since I didn't have to stop what I was doing and save my life every 60 seconds. I think it is safe to say that most skydivers view tunnel flying as an extension of their skydiving, maybe something to do when it is to cold for them to jump. After my most recent visit to the tunnel, I caught the tunnel bug and have since done a lot of research and make some friends who solely tunnel fly, or have some jumps but don't really care to make more since they have a tunnel available to fly in. Tunnel flying is a great way to get people who would never try skydiving to learn just how amazing and enjoyable body flight is. Tunnel Flying/Body flight really is a seperate sport and a seperate entity from skydiving, though some people enjoy both sports. I can honestly say that I have seen many more amazing and talented body pilots in the tunnel in the short time that I have been tunnel flying than what I have seen in freefall in the 7 years I have been skydiving. You can take my opinions as you will, but I wanted to shed some light on the subject from the point of view of a skydiver who enjoys tunnel flying much more than jumping. jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  20. I agree that being in good overall physical shape makes it easier to survive multiple tunnel sessions in a day. LOTS of stretching also helps. I tend to fly the tunnel in bulk because I live so far from a tunnel. I take 200 mg Advil before a session and 200 mg after a session and that keeps me relatively pain free. jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  21. Booties in the tunnel work just fine. However, if you end up on your back or intend to do anything other than belly flying they can become a pain the arse very quickly. My husband was knee flying with booties and knew it was a possibility that he would end up on his back at some point, so he duck taped the booties around his shoe. It seemed to work well for him. jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  22. It is nothing that some antibacterial soap and a color touch up with a sharpie can't fix! jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  23. A face full of snot looks just fine as long as you are smiling while passing Barbie. The goggles will protect your eyes from the goo. You will have fun. Don't worry! jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
  24. I went to the tunnel last month. The good majority of my sessions in there were with a terrible cold/cough. I took lots of cough medicine, Day Quil NyQuil and Airborne while I was there to try to help. All in all, I still had a blast. Since I have a full face, I didn't even snot on myself once!! jenn Tunnel Junkie Since November 2005! ;o)~ TPM #46 Paraclete XP TPM Delegate
