Out of necessity. The tallest objects other than our A's top out at 210ft. Being tired of the same old thing (and being lazy) we started working our way down the antenna. Lowest s/l and pca- 162ft. Lowest freefall- 300ft. (but I'm working on that). Vents and desire got us our BASE in our home State. And lots of advise and help from some great jumpers in our area (you f*ckers know who you are ).

Thanks guys. Hadn't called any manufacturers to see what people were telling them. Just curious to know if anyone had expierienced any failures due to frequent sl'ing. I'll give Todd or Jimmy a call.

I did a quick( because a;my computer time at work is limited, and b;I'm a lazy bastard.) search and didn't find anything so I'll throw this out there. What kind of usual or unusual signs of wear and tear do you guys/girls see on your canopies from frequent static lining? I check the usual stuff; bridal, bridal attatchment point, top skin, bottom skin, ribs, line attatchments.......am I missing anything? Kinda thinking the center b's and c's are taking the bulk of the force needed to break the sl. ??

Put my 7th. or 8th. on my new RD the other night off a 162ft. B. Static line, nice stand up. My buddy's landing wasn't as.....soft...on his Dagger. Can't really give you any comparisons cuz this is the first vented canopy I've jumped. But so far I'm happy with it.

Could the bent pins be caused from not pre-tensioning the brake lines? I've never had any signs of that and 95% of my jumps are sd. I only leave it on cuz I might get a wild hair up my ass and feel like climbing higher than 300ft. I'm with JaapSuter, I quit caring about how the slider looked going in the container and it hasn't effected my openings.....yet.

They held my 20th at the Clubhouse of the local golf course. So what did I do? Jumped in and swooped the pond beside the Clubhouse. I think I made the best entrance of all my old classmates.Definitely in my top five jumps.

Let me tell you though, if you buy one, you'll wonder how you ever survived without one. You'll probably get in your car and drive around just looking for things to laser. Quote Ain't that the truth. My buddy bought the Yardage Pro Sport (for around $150 I think) and realized our math skills weren't what we thought they were. Definately a must have item if you're looking at low objects.

When you look at airfoil inflation smaller canopies may be faster. I think larger canopies may consume less altitude during opening. I was explained that the size of the lower surface of the canopy is important. Initially it is the lower surface that is slowing you down on deployment (once the canopy is flying the lift takes over). So a larger canopy equals a larger lower surface and more fabric to slow you down. _________________________________________________ If the wing loading was the same would the larger canopy still inflate higher? I ask only because we recently jumped an S(sub-200) and both were pca'd. My 277 opened a tad higher than my buddies 244.We just shrugged it off to packing.
