  1. Greetings, I will be in Boise, Idaho the last couple of weekends of October for work and was wondering if anyone could suggest someplace for me to get some jumps in. The weather over here has been ruddy most of the year and I would like to get in the air while there, as I cant think of anything that I would rather do! Thanks, Kelley
  2. Good evening, I am in the Air Force and recently found out that I am going to be sent to Germany in about four months. I will be going to Geilenkirchen, which is on the western border near where belgium and the netherlands meet. The assignment is for 3.5 years and I am looking for a good place to jump. If anyone has any information about drop zones that are close to GK I would appreciate it. I am also interested in any information on 'large' DZ's or wind tunnels (skyventure type) in Europe that I may visit while stationed there. Oh, and if anyone knows where the nearest ski area to GK is, I would like that info also. Please be descriptive when you talk about where the DZ is, since I am not that familiar with the geographical location of stuff just yet. Thanks and Blue Skies! Kelley
  3. Looney tunes(Bugs Bunny, Roadrunner, etc...) followed closely by Thundercats.... HO!
  4. Congrats on reaching the retirement age, I am still 13 long years away. As far as Oklahoma goes, it is windy most of the time, pretty warm in the summer and mild to cold winter. Sometimes it can be pretty nice, but since I came here from Az (Phoenix) I was really pretty bummed out on arrival. As far as DZ's go, there are three right around Oklahoma City. There is Cushing, which has a wide body 182, Chickasha, which has a regular 182(I have heard, never been there myself) and the drop zone me and my friends usually jump at which is Skydive Hinton. We have a 205 and a 172. There are quite a few experienced jumpers who like to go out there, both RW and Freefliers. All three of these DZ's are under 1 hour drive depending where in the city you live. The nearest drop zone with real airplanes is Skydive Dallas in Whitewright Texas, about a 3 hour drive. Well there are the basics, if you have any other questions feel free to email me or something. Congrats again!
  5. It is all Coke, the product Coke is called Coca Cola and I grew up in New Mexico.
  6. Hey Kuper-- Dont worry about this one little bit! It took me 5 tries, yes that means I 'failed' it 4 times, to get it right. It is probably not that big of a problem, some little thing that is getting in the way. What finally happened with me? I dont rightly know, on the fifth attempt I just didnt spin anymore. I did the same thing that some other people are suggesting, including getting video and there was nothing that stood out in the video to explain the spin, and I spun like a top! I got frustrated as well but kept at it. I also know that it is very hard to relax when you know you have 'failed' a couple of times already, but just remember you are doing this to have fun. There is one aspect which I will disagree with some others on and that is the waiting. I did not wait, I wanted to get back in the air and try it again and again and again until I got it. My jump master made me take a day off, but I think waiting a couple of weeks may be a mistake. I have always been of the opinion that you have to get back on the horse that threw you and the sooner the better. Overall just dont worry about it, you will get it and then you will be so happy you will not know what to do! I know when I got it I landed and just yelled at the top of my lungs and couldnt wait to do it again. Stick with it and Good Luck!!!
