  1. I did a tandem jump in 2014 at Perris, with no real idea what I was getting into. When I landed, all I wanted to do was be back in the sky. I spent the next couple of months saving money and gathering information and eventually made my way to DeLand in December, to go through the entire AFF course. Much like you, I wasn't worried about freefall, but the canopy flight and landing was daunting (until it actually happened). So much so, that I was shaking as I boarded the PAC. The freefall was great, the opening, smooth. Canopy flight was uneventful. Just make sure you're aware of the winds and your landing pattern prior to the jump, then check the windsock before you turn for your downwind. Your instructor will be on the radio with you, but never rely on technology. Don't be afraid to ask questions and always listen to your instructor. Blue skies!
  2. I'll be down in Franklin for some jumps this summer, for sure. What sort of aircraft do you guys have down there? Also introducing some buddies from West Virginia to tandem jumps this summer, so I'll likely jump in Frankfort and Skydive Chicago quite a bit.
  3. I will be in DeLand as long as it takes to complete AFF and hopefully complete a Muff Brothers jump with Carl or another Muff Brother. The weather was crap during my nine day stint a few weeks ago, so I'm hoping for a better outcome this week.
  4. Hey guys! I'm from Indianapolis, IN and have recently passed AFF levels 1-3 at Skydive DeLand. I'm going back to Florida tomorrow to finish my remaining AFF levels in the coming week. If anyone is located at DeLand or Indy and would like to grab a beer and chat about anything airsports related, let me know. Otherwise, any advice for a n00b student would be much appreciated! Blue Skies
