To anyone considering donating money to the museum......

The fourth Skydiver is Mike Johnston. He's been managing DeLand for decades. Can we get this thread back on subject ? Because of efforts here and on Facebook, dues paying USPA Members are asking WTF about the construction of a Skydiving Museum next to a wind tunnel that might never be built in 6 years maybe. The Museum did have a place at Dulles Airport Smithsonian Air and Space in 2001. One man at the Air and Space was helping Bill Ottley and Chris Needles get a location and Government funding---he died. No one else at Air and Space was interested in a Skydiving Museum and the whole effort was gone. The main issue is using USPA Members money to keep the boondoggle going day to day. They have one paid employee. I Jumped with the guys who invented Skydiving. -
Just found this. Doug disappeared from Skydiving after 1971. http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/postgazette/obituary.aspx?n=douglas-r-metcalfe&pid=187011389&fhid=26373 I Jumped with the guys who invented Skydiving.

I have Two Racers from http://www.plabsinc.com/1.html with NO dual sided RSL. It's an option. If you want a Racer with a single side RSL just ask for one. I Jumped with the guys who invented Skydiving.

Rich Grimm wrote an Excellent letter about the Skydiving Museum Boondoggle. It's in your October 2018 Parachutist Magazine on page 6. The title of the Letter is "Are Our Dues Spent Wisely." This takes you to it https://uspa.org/p/Article/letters-57 I Jumped with the guys who invented Skydiving. -

USPA has to be financially secure for the next big Lawsuit. We always have one coming, either from a student that sprains an ankle, or worse the next Skydiving airplane crash. Bill Ottley was always concerned about a huge Lawsuit with slick lawyers for the plaintiff that could wipe out USPA. It's already happened to Drop zones. The USPA Membership elects the USPA BOD and has nothing to do with the Skydiving Museum. Just the facts please. I Jumped with the guys who invented Skydiving. -

In 2002 the USPA BOD wanted to make sure that USPA Rank and File Members would not bear any cost of building or operating or maintaining the International Skydiving Museum. At the last BOD meeting Nine members voted NO to any donations. I Jumped with the guys who invented Skydiving. -

I never wrote the Land in Orlando was free, the land in VIRGINIA was. Ifly is donating storage space, that’s all. The issue is USPA Members Dues being used to keep the boondoggle propped up while they find multi million dollar donations somewhere. At the July USPA BOD meeting nine members voted NO ! Just the facts please. I Jumped with the guys who invented Skydiving. -

From the beginning of the Museum and Hall of Fame project all agreed NO financial burden would be on the USPA Members. The Museum and Hall of Fame would stand alone financially from donations and charging admission. Building cost started at $5,000,000 on FREE land next to USPA HQ in Fredericksburg Virginia. Now it $16,000,000 on land that’s not FREE in a second location in Orlando. Know the facts before voting. See the attachment ! I Jumped with the guys who invented Skydiving. -

I was on the National Skydiving Museum Committee with Bill Ottley and Chris Needles from 2002 to 2005. Giving our dues money to the International Skydiving Museum and Hall of Fame should be voted by the Members, not by the BOD who are supposed to represent the Members. Don’t let the USPA BOD waste anymore of your money on donations to the International Skydiving Museum (boondoggle) in Orlando. Here is the vote right from the BOD meeting, this is available to all USPA Members right here https://uspa.org/BOD . Look up USPA Meeting Minutes, BOD 2018 Summer Meeting (Jul 2018) and scroll down to Motion 14, what you will see is attached. I Jumped with the guys who invented Skydiving.

USPA Board of Directors Elections 2018

I forgot to include these in the above post. Ballot and the Rules: https://uspa.org/Portals/0/files/election/ballot2018.pdf Also, Jay Stokes is a Write in for National Director this time. He was busy Skydiving and forgot the date and time to declare his bid for Reelection and missed getting his name on the ballot. Don’t let the USPA BOD waste anymore of your money on donations to the International Skydiving Museum (boondoggle) in Orlando. I Jumped with the guys who invented Skydiving. -

Most of the USPA BOD are on Facebook. When the Candidates Ballot is published on the USPA website their Email should be there. Email will take you to their page. I suggest a New Subject and Thread get started on just this. I Jumped with the guys who invented Skydiving.
