I have been looking at the Canon site and there is a new camera coming out which seems like a real possible alternative at around $1,000. Does anyone see any pitfalls with the spec? http://www.canoneos.com/digitalrebel/specs/index.html At around $1,000 can't be bad.

Cheers. Not looking to have to send stuff off. Just wanted to be able to play around at home. Using the same tools at the moment (ie a mixed for the music and the camecorder) but replace the VCR with a DVD Recorder. I was hoping to find a way of doing it without loosing picture quality (ie having to a phono input for the video) but it looks like the only way is to use a PC.

Agreed. She screwed her procedures. I'm sure she's not the first and won't be the last. If someone finds themselves in those or similar circumstances are they going to better off with or without an AAD?

Had out latest boogie last week. Weird one - 6 cut aways in a week. The last one was my girlfriend. She has 30 jumps and ended up under a spinning mal. Cutaway, pulled reserve. Or at least thought she had. She had grapped the cable and cable stop and pulled it to the end of the loop. She thought she was going to bounce and started punching the reserve container. Fortunately she hit it hard enough to slip the loop of the end of the pin and open the reserve. She had an AAD (didn't fire) but given slightly differing circumstances (ie being forced not to wear one) and not carrying on fighting she would be dead. Did she rely on it - no. Could it have saved her life...yes. Before you start going on about proper drills and the other things that should of or may of happened differently thats not the point I'm trying to make. People can react differently to what you expect, the mind can play tricks on you, but in this case it would have saved a life. How can forcing people not to wear one be a good thing. Jump like you haven't got one sure. Force them to - No!

Hi guys and galls, I would like to put my new film onto DVD. I don't want to do it with a pc but was thinking about one of those hi-fi DVD recorders. Does anyone know if you can take an Ilink in for the video and use other sources to mix the audio or if there are other ways of mixing audio onto the disc? What about the ones with a built in HDD? Do they offer any useful editing features? Not looking to spend thousands. Al.

Right guys I know you all love your mega expensive canon d10's etc etc but I don't have $2,000 to spare, will not be selling anything comercially, just want some reasonable (3m pix) quality images to stick on a few desktops and the web etc, nothing commercial. What is there in the way of digital that I can use with a bite/tongue switch. I have already been here http://skyelph.homestead.com/Order.html but can't be arsed with all that having to get stuff developed crap. Any suggestions??? I have a 2kComposites FF2 which currently has my PC8 stuck in it. I am also looking for a way to attach it to the top. The stroboframe or whatever is now unavaialable. Thanks! Alun

Jumped my FF2 for the first time this weekend. I have a Diamond 0.3 on it and could just see a little bit of the helmet in the bottom left but it wasn't a major inconvience. Overall very happy with my new baby!
