  1. Nice sentiments. I think you have some very valid points. I love my wife, but I have a deep and abiding love for several very dear friends. They touch me and guide me and nurture me. I love many. I sleep with my wife. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." Doc Ed “A person needs a little madness, or else they never dare cut the rope and be free” Nikos Kazantzakis
  2. My beautiful friend Pat. Not a great picture, but she a great person. Not a jumper, but I won't hold that against her. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." Doc Ed “A person needs a little madness, or else they never dare cut the rope and be free” Nikos Kazantzakis

  4. I had one of my ESL students ask me one day, "Mr. Eberly, do you have a bike?" and I said , "Yes, I do." And he said, "Do you ever take it off any sweet jumps?" And then I realized what he was talking about. At least he's using English. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." 5. The plane holds seven, but that's a squeeze. Three tandems, or two with video, on one load. Experienced jumpers the next load. Or two up-jumper loads and then a tandem load. If there aren't enough tandems, free-fly guys or low time students/novices doing a solo. Everyone goes to the same altitude and pays the same price. Tandems out last. And you have to refuel after 3 loads anyway, so there's an extra 10 minutes to organize. I've seen that plane do 24-25 loads straight to 12 grand without a shut-down, flying mixes of tandems with and without video, free-flyers, wingsuit jumpers and bellyflyers. I've sent notice of this thread to the previous owner of the plane. Maybe he'll respond. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." 6. English and Russian fluently. A smattering of Spanish. I bit of Italian. And a few words here and there in about 15 others - I teach ESL and try to learn a few greetings and the like in the languages of my students. I want to relearn Swahili (I was pretty decent 25 years ago) and work on the Italian. I like to think of myself as a cunninglinguist, too. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." 7. Terracaching is a good way to practice, too. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." Doc Ed “A person needs a little madness, or else they never dare cut the rope and be free” Nikos Kazantzakis
  8. Personally, my back is causing problems, which the chiropractor almost has in order enough to jump. Otherwise, we have a 'new' Caravan this year that is still in the process of being retro-fitted for jumping, and it's been a lengthy process and nobody wants to jump out of the 182 regardless of what beautiful weather we might have. If it weren't for the back I would be shaming someone into 182 jumps. It's time to get back in the air. Next weekend for sure. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." Gas Prices?

I just gotta tell someone this. On Wednesday, 2:00, I go to an appointment and pass the corner gas station. Unleaded Regular - $2.35.9 Forty minutes later, pass the same station and it's $2.39.9. This morning, two day later, pass by it again and it's jumped to $2.49.9. In two days it's gone up 14 cents. How the heck is that? And I put in the mid-octane in my car, so I'm paying $2.59.9 It's madness, I tell you. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." 12. I do. I tweaked my lower back this morning drying off after my shower, of all things. So today, I am sitting very straight, doing all my bending at the knees, the ol's golf tee bend to pick up things, and to top it off, I can't have any painkillers because I'm having an upper GI tomorrow. My back really hurts and it's starting to make me cranky - that and not being able to eat anything today. Arrgghh. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." 13. So, it's kinda like living in the north or in Canada. Weather holds for months at a time. She should just pretend it's winter and she has to wait. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." Doc Ed “A person needs a little madness, or else they never dare cut the rope and be free” Nikos Kazantzakis

    Waterbeds

Yeah, still have a water bed. I bought it in 1976 and I've had to replace the liner, mattress and heater all at least once. I love it and can't imagine ever getting rid of it, although I know someday I probably will. It's warm in the winter! Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." 18. I think he uses whatever comes standard on a DIgi Rebel. I think a new lens is on his wish list. The DZ is West Plains Skydiving, located in Davenport, WA, outside of Spokane. Vint . . . . . 19. Our local video guy, Billy [url] owes beer. He got published in Parachutist, pg. 42 of the April issue. It's a still of another of our video guys hanging off the plane. Billy does good work and I always look forward to jumping with him, and not just for the camera. Although, he did shoot the pic I use for my avatar. Vint . . . . . "Make it hard again." 24. Oh yeah... Danny Elfman. Now composes movie music, an' did the Simpson's theme (and Tales From the Crypt). Movies such as everything and anything done by Tim Burton (Pee Wee Herman's movies, Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorshands.) Spiderman 2. Mission Impossible 2? That movie with Deniro chasing down Charles Grodin who was a mob accountant. His first movie sound track was for his brother's movie, and Danny played the devil. But they were the Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo back then. My family is commanded to play Dead Man's Party at my funeral. And if I get to Google him, or merely go to my music collection, I can add a ton more. Did you know he just had a classical piece performed at Carnegie? It had been commissioned, and the premiere was in February. spoiler alert: Some movies he's composed for are referenced. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4515287 Anything else?
