  1. We still have a Vespa, 3 Yamahas (RD-350, IT-175, DT-100), an SSR 125, a KTM 50LC, a Suzuki RMX-250, a Moto Guzzi 850T Interceptor, a BMW R1200C Montauk and a Harley Davidson FXE. The Moto Guzzi and the KTM are due to be sold shortly.
  2. Argumentum ad Vericundiam.
  3. Thank goodness! I was worried there for a moment...
  4. Are you saying it might not?
  5. Terrible president but a wonderful man.
  6. I'm kinda fuzzy on what I'm trying to convince anyone of, have no idea who or what you are, and am unsure what difference it might make whether or not we agree.
  7. Postnatal abortion ensures zero recidivism.
  8. Which one? Gods are as common as dirt. I say the pyramids are pretty clear proof of the existence of Ra. Let's see some atheistic Engineer do better! I'd most certainly no-bid the contract.
  9. LBJ's 'Great Society' turned poverty into an industry, the Law of Unintended Consequences at its finest. Would you guess there's any correlation between criminality/violence and single mother households? Feel free to attribute it to coincidence.
  10. If you look at the demographics IN cities, some groups are peaceful and others are orders of magnitude more criminally violent. Figuring out the lines of demarcation is left as an exercise for the class.
  11. Actually, when someone came in and said they didn't want anything to do with guns, the Sheriff said 'no problem.' Turns out he was cool with people lacking the skill set to use firearms safely staying away from them. The point was to convey the impression that committing crime in Kennesaw was a suicidal endeavor, and the crime rate dropped accordingly. It convinced the unwilling homeowner. It convinced you. Mission accomplished.
  12. The creation of the universe? I mean it's here and everything, so I guess that proves it or something.
  13. Thank jebus you've done your homework. I was worried there for a moment. If you ever get SWATed, I hope you get through it without being shot as well.
  14. Again, in my demographic cohort I'm in no greater danger than in Great Britain or Spain. There are groups that are 100 times more likely to get shot, and I generally stay clear of them.
  15. I suspected at the outset that nominating Gaetz served the purpose of removing him from the equation. If that was the goal, it worked brilliantly. So long as Gaetz was in Congress he could do a lot of damage. Now he simply isn't a factor.
  16. If you consider the demographics, a different picture emerges.
  17. Correlation does not imply causation in and of itself, but such statistics as are published are alarming. I don't know how deep a study of stochastic processes was to your discipline, but there is a difference between healthy skepticism and reflexive dismissal. If you are skilled with the math, feel free to get ahold of untainted data and run the numbers.
  18. Actually, the issue was largely a matter of thrombogenic spike proteins leaving the deltoid and generating fatal blood clots hither and yon.
  19. We have a penchant for confusing problems with symptoms. I suspect that the suppression of progressive sources and accepting the toxicity of the remainder would have been pretty much the same. The killfile function has been a godsend, so skipping over routinely toxic posters, other than moderators, is no longer necessary. Unfortunately, that has resulted in largely empty threads. Thus, the demise of this website has been inexorable and its end will be mercifully swift. I come here in the same sense that I visit terminal patients in hospitals or hospices, where there is no expectation of a miraculous recovery. The people I killfiled weren't always those with whom I disagree. Sometimes people can make a case where the presentation itself is nauseating, like hearing a bad cover to a wonderful song. Anyhow, it's been real.
  20. My E-type was a '62. It was great to drive, but a royal pain to keep it serviceable. I never regretted selling the damned thing, and - though I liked my Mk IX - I have never been tempted to buy another Jaguar.
  21. I'm a fiscal conservative and that's about it. Until a fetus is viable, making sure a child is truly wanted is a very good thing. Ensuring that unwanted chidren are not born is a matter of responsibility, preferably by virtue of birth control. Abstinence is bad, committed relationships are good, VD is bad. Unwanted children are more likely to turn into undesirable adults. Postnatal abortion is thus sometimes indicated when the fetus turns evil, such as with Luigi Mangione. "Conservative application of government" is generally a good thing, since government is generally a poor servant and a terrible master. People who wish for committees to make their decisions for them may not be retarded, but it's hard to tell. BSBD, Winsor
