1. Did anyone hear about ST50 Altimeter or something like that? 2. the Alti3-galaxy (of Alti-2): in the pictures it looks like it's very heavy and big and 'high from hand'. is it? thanx' Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

Kuper replied to Kuper's topic in Gear and Rigging
1. are the googles with the small holes on their sides. right? 2. if the price of FlexZ's is the same as 'Blaze' or any other 'ski look' goggles ? does anyone knows if it's possible to buy them (FlexZ's) in any sport store in the US (cause i want to ask a friend there to buy for me)... http://www.orikuper.printroom.com -
Kroop or 'ski' goggles? i don't know what to buy...
Kuper replied to Kuper's topic in Gear and Rigging
i want to buy some goggles, and not to take the one of the DZ's everytime... what do u prefer and why (kroop goggles or those 'ski look' goggles - like Blaze etc.) ???? (i hope the fact that i havn't a helmet of mine yet doesn't change...) i'll appreciate your answer, thanx Ori. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com -
thats right. and as answer for ixlr82+payback462 : i did 2 (not completed) flares, and a turn or two. i saw from the beginning too much lines around the canopy and the risers - and therefore i thought it was maybe a packing problem. i didn't try to solve the problem of the lines on one side, because i was afraid that will cause damage in the other side... i didn't see the torn ends of the lines (just on ground - 2 lines from the nosewere torn) , but i did see the nose of the canopy 'folded in'. it was really a problem of 'not recognize or diagnose' my emergency - TORN LINES@^$#*!# i succeeded to stay at the direction of the DZ so i thought 'ok, i'll land with this thing'. I was wrong. i had to cut away. i had enough time and alti and relaxation to do that... today my entire body hurts, and i believe it'll hurt in the next few days too... i' learned a lesson and i hope next time i'll do the right (CUTAWAY!) thing on time...

i saw the main opens badly. it didn't get a form of normal canopy... i had some lines around the risers. i thought that maybe it was a resault of a bad packing. i didn't know (till i got down to earth) that it is a problem of two lines (from the center of the nose) that were torn... the opening of the main was at alt. of 4500FT, which means i had enough time to break it and pull the reserve. i didn't do that, because i thought i can land with this (NOT) canopy. i landed (if u can call it 'landing') not in the DZ, on rocks and bushes. i got a strong kick in the ass, and my leg hurts too. 15 sec after the 'landing' i was on my feet again, checking i haven't break anyting. when we checked the canopy - there were those 2 torn lines. i learned many things from that malfunction. the main thing i learned is: NEVER THINK TWICE IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH ALTI TO PULL A RESERVE - THERE IS NO MAIN WHICH WORTH A LANDING LIKE I HAD TODAY. AND IT COULD BE FINISHED WORSE !

I did today my first solo! all alone!!! WOW all by myself with no one around (and i was the 1st to exit, and i got out - like someone on the plane advised me - with 'head first' too!) it was great. i had some turns, but it was all under control and i stoped them! i guess IT IS just the experience, which can help u to stay stable... next time i'll try to turn by myself. i had only 2 jumps today, although the weather was GREAT, but i was out of money... so i decided to come tomorrow again. i hope the weather will be ok and i that i'll get up in the noon (i'm gonna dance all night). thanx to everyone here who encourage me and helped me to continue and not give up! it was worth it so much! blue sky to u all and have FUN! Ori Kuper. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

i'm a newbie and just want to be sure in something: i post a number in my profile, near my STUDENT status. that is the number that was written on my logbook when i started the AFF course. i don't have my A license yet, but i do have this number on my logbook. is IT my license number, or did i wrote the wrong thing? http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

the boogie was fun - although i didn't actually take part in it - because i'm not jump by myself yet... the day after, (saturday) i tried AFF7... it was SO BAD!!! i did a 'connected jump' (i don't know the real word for it in skydiving) with the JM (Ohad). when we jumped out, i was holding his arm and his chest's belt. that part was a big fun (we stay connected for 5-6 seconds) but after i left him - i started again with the turns and couldn't get rid of it. i failed this AFF7 and instead of doing a solo jump in the jump after it, i 'waste' it to try again AFF7 but now with the big boss too (Mordi). i failed it the second time as well, but mordi said that he hasn't a thing to do with me... he said that my body position is OK but i need to relex and stable it (like i succeeded, god knows how, in 5+6). the boss wrote in my card that i finished the course. which means maybe next time i'll try to jump alone...

Because i didn't know who you were ! although i heard there one guy who called 'Ori!' but i didn't know whom he called... do you have a curled hair? or were you with a curled guy and with another one who wore blue-white flowers shorts (i think his name is Tomer...). what were you wearing?! did you jump yesterday? beacuse i think i saw this group coming just before they grounded the plain... but hey - maybe next time (next week... cause today there are hard winds from the east...) http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

hey! i'm really really really glad to hear you fell good and succeeded in your turns!!! i did today (again) a hold heading dive, and my JM caught me twice because i started turning and then while tring to fix it - i just got it worse ... but he still think next time i have to do AFF5 (he passed me AFF4 - god knows why) i mean, he is the chiff of the club - but what will be when i'll be turning from the moment i get out - and without a JM holding me?!?!?! please tell me how you fixed your body position, and don't take it so badly. in the end line - it was the target of this jump, and you got to it!!! besides, my goggles blew up at the 2nd time i tried AFF4 - and yes - it was frightening, but look at this that way: you have this trouble now with your JM. think what would happend if he weren't there? (and believe me - you won't take a 'too big' goggles again from that time) tell me what's going on :) blue sky! http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

I jumped today again. the purpose was again - a heading hold dive. not AFF4 and no anything else. just to fall. the jumpmaster (the chiff ...) left me once, caught me, left me again, i started getting a slow turn, i tried to fix it, and then he caught me again till i pulled... he said i just need to be more relexed, and to 'flow' with the turn - and not be so aggressive. i don't know if it's good or bad, but he said next time it's gonna be AFF5 i'll probably looked like a real mess in air but i hope it still be fun... i couldn't jump again today because 2 minutes before someone checked my rig (after i closed it, and yes. it's still take me a lot of time) they announced they stop all the work for today. something happend to the brakes of the plane (and we needed to push it from the muddy groung back to the road). i hope it'll be fixed by tomorrow. till my next (AFF5!) time - blue sky to all of you! http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

i agree... on ground it can be such a good arch, but on air i can be falling like a piece of wood because of my stiffness . i wanted to jump today or yesterday, but the DZ are grounded because of the wind. who cares about the wind?! @#!* the wind... grrrrr.... http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

thanx :) i hope i'll do it someday. you know something? I KNOW i'll do it someday thanx again, Ori Kuper. http://www.orikuper.printroom.com

because i couldn't control it from the moment i finished the track... http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
-
The last time i failed AFF4 twice. then we decided to do a heading hold dive. and thats what happend: I was at the DZ today, and had 1 jump. I started doing a slow (that's what my guide said) turn, and then 1st thing I took a track. When we debriefed - my guide told me that if I just waited 2-3 seconds, I could be stable and get out of this slow (he says so) turn. well, I started with the track & it was just fine. BUT: from the moment I tried to get back into a belly body position, I started turning again, I was on my back, I was with my head down, I was with my head up – every thing you think about – I did it. The problem, of course, was that I couldn't control any of those positions for more the 0.5 sec. each. The last time I saw the altimeter was at 6500 or something like that. After I saw it, I wasn't stable (still) and then, I tried (still and again) to get into body position. I didn't succeed, and I pulled at something like 4900 in god knows what position (without knowing that I'm there – I pulled just because I knew I was somewhere after the 5500). Next time I hope to be more relaxed. I didn't feel comfort to be in any of those "not belly" body positions. It looks like I always thought about 'Get back to body position! Get back to body position!' and that's why I worked so fast in the air. I needed to 'flow' more with the air, and not to be work so stiffly like I did. Again – I'll tell you when I get there... Till then – Blue sky everybody and have fun!!! http://www.orikuper.printroom.com
