Jimmy & Marta, Good luck with the merger. It sounds like a solid idea to me. So next time we swing through Moab, hopefully you will be up for some "test jumping" with us. From all of us up this way, thanks again for your part in a great event at the Royal Gorge. Well done! Erich
  3. Hey ther. I just attended an Adobe Video Solutions Seminar. Here is what your PC needs to be: Windows XP only Either Dual processors Zion 3.06Ghz or...... single processor P4 3.0 Ghz or better with a real-time video card like the Matrox RT.X100 1Gb Ram, Lots of HD space (i have 3x120Gb HDs) DVD rw is nice too since you have Encore (very nice program) After Effects 6.0 rules. This new Adobe shit really is awsome. AMD is NOT the way to go, unfortunatly, compatability issues.
  4. Try getting a video card like the Matrox card so that you can convert your video out signal to NTSC and then you can biew your video on a NTSC television as you edit so that you can see the actual colors the end user will see when watching it on DVD or VHS. Comuter monitors have millions more colors than TV monitors.
  5. I think that what you would want to do sometime in the future is update your software to Adobe's Video Collection. It comes with Premier Pro and Encore DVD as well as After Effects 6.0 and the new Adobe Audition audio software. The new bundle of software really takes Premier and After Effects capabilties to a whole new level. I just recieved it and the things that you can do with it are amazing. And when you are going to burn to a DVD, Encore will make it easy and allow you to create buttons, first plays, incorporate photoshop layers and a lot more easily to really impress your end user. It makes 6.5 look like a kids program. Highly recommend. The only thing is, you must have the computer for it, 3.0Ghz, 1Gb RAM, vid card hardware excelleration or dual processors, and window XP. So it's a bit off topic but my point is you may want to use and Adobe DVD burning/authoring software tool, AKA Encore. Erich
  6. Sam, My favorite is still the Lazy Lizard Hostel. Especially if you have a group of 10 or so. You can find info on it if you do a search on dogpile.com. Basically its about $9 a night, depending on what building/room you are in. There is either a kitchen in your room or a common one to share. Also, they like BASE jumpers and don't mind you packing on the grass or in your dorms. My recommendation is the unit they call "The Casa." It doesn't have a tailgate but it a 5+ bedroom house that kind of feels like home (if home is a 70's style hippy house). Have fun, I might see you there. Just got back from Moab and can't wait to return. 598

I could name YOU crazy Tom Mau.. if you want. Then your paranoia will be on full alert. Hey, instead of continuing this thread and getting into a flame battle with your friends/neighbors, just give me call so we can catch up on. I haven't spoke to you since you were on a bus to Idaho. Oops, I went and named another place were people may or may not jump. Silly ole me. There I go burning down the world again. You silly nug-head! Save the flames for those actually naming sites instead of those politely attempting to contact locals discretely. E-mail me and I will send you my phone number. We are opening up several new sites here that you may be interested in flicking and we would be more than happy to host. And remember, be nice on boards. Dont be that guy. Peace, E

  11. The Suunto watches are only accurate if the temperature change on the climb is standard. But it is a very sweet tool to have. Its never more than 50 feet off at 1000 feet AGL. I also dig the vertical speed indicator. Try and keep it at 50 feet per minute for 1000 feet. Feel the burn. Who needs a health club membership? E
