But if it keeps the sight open, especially for new jumpers wouldn't it be worth it. How can we hope that other legal sites can be opened (National Parks) if we can't distance ourselves from rogue jumpers. I like the bandit jumps just as much as the next guy (or gal) but I would not risk getting a legal site shut down to try a new trick. A solid built helmet that offers full range of head movement and doesn't restrict visibility. Face and jaw protection but still have the ability to talk and people can hear you with it on. For those times like,"Don't jump, there is a car coming" type things. And use of two way radios. Easy to get on and off are a plus. And must look cool!! Ok, I just dug out the video and timed the canopy ride. It was a little over 7 sec. canopy ride with a one sec. delay. Never timed it before. My bust. "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion" -
Has anyone seen the new Rat Hat from Bonehead. Wondering if it would make a good BASE helmet. Looks like it would offer some chin and face protection with out covering your mouth. I have made several freefalls from 250' with my FOX 285 V-tecs with covers and a BR 48" ZP PC. With no PC hesitation and primed velcro looking at about 5 sec. canopy ride. I haven't jumped my Flik 293 V-tec with covers from anything lower than 350'. I really can't see a problem though. Why haven't I jumped my Flik on the low stuff? "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." MT1-XX? Oh yeah, I remember using those as a young scraping Recon Marine back in the 80's. This is what they are good for. This pic was taken in 1988. Damn I'm getting old. Had a hard time scaning this pic and trying to get it under 60KB. I suck at this computer stuff. Turned out kind of small. "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

I jump 285's and a 293. The friend I normally jump with jumps 205's and a 220. Using the same size and make of PC's, the difference in our opening altitude is very noticeable on go and throws. Hey Faber, Why do you want to take off the 5th brake line? What problems are you having with it? Just curious. I have the 5th brake line on one of my Fox canopies and I love it. I like the 5th line on my Flik as well. C-Ya "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

Just curious what direction everyone is going. I myself have two velcro and two pin rigs. Only three canopies though. (Need to fix that) I'm starting to like the pin rigs more and more but I'll always have my trusty "Vision". I'm talking all around rigs for slider on and slider off jumps. Looks like a lot of you are going to the bridge on Memorial Day weekend. That's great, I won't be there on that weekend myself but I hope everyone stays safe and has a good time. I'm SURE you all will follow the simple rules that the local authorities have ask us to. But let's not forget that a lot of non-jumpers will be there also, watching in awe as a bunch of lunatics jump off a bridge for fun. I can recall a group of three jumpers on M-Day in 2002. Standing on the edge yelling to each other how FUCKING crazy they were while parents were trying to cover the ears of there children or escort them away from the center of the bridge. I hit an "A" last year on a no wind night with a lazy launch. I would have cleared it if I would have had a good launch from the exit point. Three feet can make a difference. It was a $412.00 dollar jump. "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"
