Congratulations BASE 622 on completing all four objects in MO. Missouri BASE #1. Two of which were under 130 ft. You the Man!! See you this weekend with two rigs in hand. Dave O "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

I can say first hand, that after watching Atle track with the smoke pants I felt like a dumb ass for spending what I did on my tracking pantz. He is the man! Hey Alte, I have a package ready to mail to you. Just have to make it to the post office. You will enjoy it!

One can never have enough gear! Got three rigs now and coming up with reasons to buy more. Hey 554, how many rigs do you have? "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

I drive past the arch everyday going to work. I'll stop by tomarrow and see if I can jump over it. I'll leave my rig at home of course. Don't want to stir up the Park Rangers. "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

2018, San Diego, I'm there Nick. BASE 772 "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

That's exactly what I'm talking about! Thanks DexterBase . I just wanted to see other jumpers view on this. I can't see any benefit to wraping the side flap around the bottom flap at the bottom corners of a container. Just my opinion. "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

The open corners that I'm talking about , the packtray won't completely open and lie flat on the floor like the dynamic corners. Although I like the idea of that. I could try to explain it but I wouldn't do a very good job. I'll jump my Vision tomarrow morning and try and post a picture of a open corner. (picture is worth a thousand words) I was kind of hoping Tom would step in and explain it. He's good at that sort of stuff. "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

I'll try to post a picture of a open corner and a closed or semi-closed corner. I'll have to unpack one of my rigs though. I'll do that tomarrow morning. Off the top of my head I think that the Vision,Medusa, and the Wizard are all open corner containers. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Do you feel that containers with open corners give you better on heading preformance, slider off and slider up? "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

BASE 622 does 123ft S/L jumps all the time and he has landed with toggles every jump so far. I tried to attach a picture but it exceeds the maximum attachment size.So if you go to the BASE board photos and click on earth. Look for image named 622. It's a 123ft static line. My 200 lb ass is flying sweet under a Flik 293 now. And BR makes one size bigger.

***you guys definitely have my admiration... I backed down from my first tower tonight. *** Don't be in a rush to do a solo jump. When you jump with friends go last. See how you feel about being the last one off the object. If it spooks you then you are probably not ready to solo. No big deal. I made my first solo on my 69th jump. (Guess you could say I done a solo 69
-
Right now at least 75% of my jumps are solo, meaning no ground crew. Although it's a lot more fun when your jumping with friends, it's also a awesome feeling when you get to the top of you favorite "A" at sunrise with not a soul in sight. Dennis McGlynn would say ," BASE is a inner thing, we do it for ourselves". When I do solo jumps, thats when I know exactly what he was talking about.

I also shot video of that jump. It was a five way. I am the one who ran to the tourist center, rig and helmet on, camcorder in hand and called 911. Happens that fast! Keep you heads on straight people and have fun. It's not fun watching one of us go the the hospital. (especially if your that one) Let's keep this site open!! I own two Fox V-tecs which I absolutely love and would recommend to anyone. I have a Flik on the way. I have never jumped a Flik but my buddy has one and he loves it. The truth be told I have seen great openings and landings on Foxes,Mojos,Fliks,Blackjacks,Aces,Daggers,Ravens, and Cruiselites. I have also seen people bust there ass with all of these canopies. Each canopy has it's own characteristics. But I feel the canopy pilot is the biggest factor. Do your research and talk to local jumpers. See what they jump and what they like. Don't rush into buying a canopy you might not like. This is just my opinion. "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

You guys are thinking way to much about this. You just need to buy more GEAR! Have a rig or two for slider off and a rig or two for slider up. No rigging involved. Just don't forget which one is which! Damm I love buying gear! C-Ya $Broke$ Dave "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

I think I'm in okay climbing shape, but I still find my muscles fatiging after about 1200 feet of ladder climbing.*** Climb 1200 ft. WOW! 350 ft max and I'm gone. I must be lazy. But sometimes I do back up loads, so that would be equal to 700 ft right or does that not count. "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

She suggested the use of a fine mesh slider on these jumps. Thanks Neil, I'm ordering one today!! "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

Wow, that was a pretty long, rambling post, on a topic that you probably didn't really want that much depth on. Sorry. Great post Tom, and glad you moved it to another thread. With all that said, I really have no reason for another vented canopy around here. The only thing that would make a landing area tight on a terminal jump here is if the damm cows wouldn't move. It's still would be hard to buy a canopy with out all the bells and whistles on it. Thanks "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"
