In reply to I can't believe they played and replayed the jumper's biffed landings though... thats not what the show should be about. Did anyone catch the fact that the guy was front risering the landing. I don't think winds had anything to do with his crash.

A good rule of thumb is: If you have to ask then you already know the answer, just looking for reason to change it. The other thing is why do people think that when you hit x jumps you will be ready for something. You have know way of knowing when your ready to downsize untill your there. I spent alot more time on some canopies than others. I don't know your canopy skills at all so i am not going to say anything like your going to kill yourself. But do me a little favor, don't downsize untill you don't have to ask the question just an opinion

Riser pressure in wind

My suggestion would be it's all in your head. Your canopy doesn't know the difference between 10 mph winds or 100 mph winds. Think of it this way if your practicing up high and the winds at 7000 ft are 60 mph do you actually know that there is a difference in the way your canopy flies. The same thing applys on the ground only this time you may think things are different becuase of you perseption to the ground. Some turbulance is a different thing than just wind and can have effects on the canopy. I am not a physics major just my thoughts -

Just my 2 cents but i love the crossfire 2 my loading isn't as high. But does everything i want it to do and the opening are the bomb best i have ever jumped. Just stay away from a precision built crossfire 1. I havn't had any trouble with icarus in customer service either. -
I am one I go to Southern IL University carbondale I started jumping before i came to college and i think i am the only one from my club that ever looks at dz.com From my experience your totally right. They would rather party than jump. But not me

Ok first i would like to say that i have never flown a wing suit. I would love to learn sometime but just havn't got around to it. With all the talk about canopy choices with the wing suit what do you guy usually use for your wing suit jumps. Do any of you guys use elliptical canopies. Do you normally get a larger canopy for wing suit jumps. The only guy i know that jumps a wing suit started out jumping a with stiletto and still uses it today. Is this really rare

when can someone with a coach rating start coaching students. Do they start after the student has an A or can they start while still on student status

Has anyone or known anyone with a 2 out situation with a highly loaded main and reserve. Did they land without breaking anything? What where the canopies and wingloadings. I was always taught not to flare a two out canopy configuration. But with 2 canopies that are highly loaded i am guessing not flaring would hurt.

Not an expert on how tight stow bands should be but my rigger said you should be able to pick the bag up of the ground with out the coming undone. I personally can't get the bag of the ground all the time but can get most of it. Also if you start getting bag locks i would say your stows are to tight

When i was a studen i think on my 7th jump or so i did the same thing. Flipped right through the risers and had them twisted. I asked my JM if i did the right thing by not cutting away and his answer was "you landed without incident didn't you" Of course i did and i even remember standing it up. He asked me if i did a control check which i did and everything was ok. So if everything works properly even with the twist there is no reason to chop it. -
I don't fly video but just curious how often does someone actually have to ditch there helmet. I know the potential is there but how often does it actually happen

Just my 2 cents but i think your cool where your at for a canopy size. By the looks of it you have less than 100 jumps on that canopy unless the others where just things u barrowed for a jump or 2. Give the canopy a chance you will be surprised on what u can do with a 135. And if your anything like me your wing loading will increase becuase of all the extra beer ya drink at the DZ

Hey broke my femur in 2 places i have 2 metal rods in now. I broke it july 5th 2003 and made my next jumps august 30th 2003. I jumped a large canopy and landed on one leg. -
What is it that the FAA sees as any more like an airline than using twin otters? There are airlines that use otters. The FAAs motto is "If your not happy where not happy"

My 2 cents If you know how to reconize where you going to land by looking for the not moving spot. Then next time your find yourself down wind pull the fronts down for a couple of seconds and c if it helps. Every canopy is trimmed different so it might be advantagous on one canopy and not others -
i have seen someone jump from a 2 place gyro. She was really small. Wasn't alot of room for someone and the rig on the back. The gyro was taken to 3500ft agl and from my point of view didn't look like the gyro had much stability problems the foward speed was next to nothing.
