  1. I am doing the same, should have my A licence in 2-weeks time. Where are you doing this at? Sheri ~~Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it!~~
  2. I live in wisconsin but I travel for work all over the lower 48 Ah - I see now why weather would be a factor. Good luck and I hope you get there soon! Sheri ~~Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it!~~
  3. Where are you located? Sheri ~~Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it!~~
  4. Hi Sam! I am having surgery tomorrow so it will be 4 weeks before I can get back at it and to a DZ ... but I will come find you!
  5. Thank you tred and riggerrob! I went with the same TI twice, and I do have his name and information. He will remember me for several reasons! He did allow me to steer and gave me quite a bit of instruction/explanations on our second jump. When I returned home to Washington I found myself at a local DZ doing another tandem. She (TI) was aware of my plans/goals, and allowed me to navigate part of our freefall (360s & forward backward) and steer the chute as well. So far my fear is minimal, however the though of my initial jump with no one attached to me does make my stomach leap a bit! Again - thank you both so much to taking the time to reply and share your thoughts and input! Sheri ~~Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it!~~
  6. Thank you - I think I will I had NO idea that my tandems would count, according to the CAT A (jump 2) at Skydive AZ lists jumping with two instructors. I did some additional reading on USPA, and did see that the tandems count, IF I follow certain procedures - which in both cases I did not - BUT - GOOD to know from this point forward! Thank you for the information linestretch - and I am aware, I need to listen to only my instructors. Just trying to gain as much basic info as I can. And yes - the sky is awesome, which is why I am here and going for my license(s)! Thanks again all! Sheri ~~Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it!~~
  7. I know there are already several posts about logbooks, but couldn't seem to locate the answer to my question, so ... here I am. So here's the scoop. Initial tandem jump was 8/28/16. I immediately knew this was for me (hooked) and needed to continue, so went again a week later on 9/3/16. As soon as I returned home from vacation I went again on 9/15/16. In addition I have had a few minutes of tunnel time. I am going back to AZ to begin my ASP on March 19th 2017. In the meantime I will continue to jump when I can, and get as much tunnel time as I can. So - my question here is .... when do I get and start logging in a logbook? Now, or wait until my first ground class on March 19th? Sheri ~~Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it!~~
  8. Thank you all for the welcomes and input! I know I have a LOT to learn and am looking forward to every bit of it! Sheri ~~Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it!~~
  9. Thank you for the info trafficdiver ... I guess my Goal #2 really should be my "end goal" as I am sure I will have many in between, and most important ... just jump when I can! I appreciate the reply and input!
  10. Where at in Arizona are you? We have a vacation home there, and I will be frequenting skydive AZ, in fact going for my A license in March of 2017! And congratulations BTW! Sheri ~~Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it!~~
  11. Hi all, I finally pulled the trigger and made a tandem jump while on vacation @Skydive Arizona. I was immediately hooked, as I am sure many of you were and know the feeling. Needless to say, before I flew home I was back @Skydive Arizona for a second jump and tunnel time! I flew back home to Washington State and found myself @Skydive Snohomish for a third, then off to iFly Seattle for more tunnel time. Hopefully the weather will hold out this weekend so I can give Skydive Kapowsin a try. If not, money saved I guess. Goal # 1 – A license. I am scheduled for the ASP @Skydive Arizona March 19th of next year. I hate the wait, but need to save the pennies, and this is all my work schedule will really allow as the ASP is close to a solid two weeks. In the meantime, I will continue to jump, get more tunnel time, read and educate myself the best I can to prepare for my ASP. Goal # 2 – Camera Flyer I already love photography and have professional cameras, so for me, this is a perfect fit. I understand I will need a couple of hundred jumps before I can proceed with this … but this might just be perfect timing for me. Hopefully husband will be retired by then, and I will have something to do when we move to our AZ home! Anyway, wanted to drop a line, introduce myself and get to know a few of you as I continue on this journey! Sheri ~~Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it!~~
