is there a website or category under DZ.com that tells and/or explains # of skydiving fatalities? it would be easier than calling long-distance..... thanks for the help! ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com

How did u pay for ur rig?
rocketdog replied to FrEaK_aCcIdEnT's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
i bought mine piece by piece because i was/am so damn poor! first year: reserve & container; next year: main; last year (finally): Cypres. although looking back, i would definitely go for a CUSTOM container..... ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com -
HOMER: How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive? see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com

hey my asian brother from another mother.... sorry to hear that you're stuck in LIMBO! give it a trial run by taking a break. the great thing is, you can ALWAYS return to skydiving for fun/$$. it's a start just to realize the need to reevaluate! best of luck! ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com

$35 registration fee..... must have USPA or buy temporary membership there. lift tickets are $21/jump through SWC's online store right now (i think it's a pre-order *special*). there will be round canopy jumps, demo canopies, organizing AND coaching, high altitude jumps, night jumps, early morning loads, possibly extreme tandems from the heli & other shenannigans SEE YOU THERE! ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com

Thanks Amanda -- everyone @ SWC appreciates all the compassion (from EVERYBODY!) We are all wishing Jason a speedy recovery ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com

Can anyone post more detailed info/post a link to the website? Yeah.... that'd be great.... because it would really SUCK if this turned out like the Marco Island "boogie" (or lack thereof)! Cessna = ? They make all kinds of planes from baby 182s to Grand Caravans

if you are single & being on your own with nothing established, i would NOT go to California. i grew up there & just visited in April..... the cost of living is ASTRONOMICAL! Big cities out there are fun but housing & commuting is so expensive and time-consuming. good luck! ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com

NO comparision in my opinion. Threading the jewelry through the nipple: i almost screamed. The piercing + threading jewelry on a hood: cake! Plus, they heal a lot quicker & aren't as sore afterwards! *do it* ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com

misty, i guess it really is all up to you.... but in my opinion a SMALL curved barbell is the best way to go (definitely DON'T get one sized for your bellybutton -- wayyy too heavy). i think the curved barbell is awesome because.... no sickness intended .... the two balls on the end provide pressure but the curved barbell allows the jewelry to move/slide/shift. as far as it getting caught on things (with a curved barbell) i have never had that problem. ok this is getting way too detailed but it's my honest opinion! anyway, good luck, and if you hate it you can always buy a different type. ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com

i voted for Uchenna & Joyce while Rob & Amber are being smart by bringing along native speakers, its really not meant to be a 3-person game. Ron & Kelly seem very mis-matched too -- but @ least they realized it before they got married can't wait to see the finale...... ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com

Tammy, thanks so much for the insight & HONESTY. so do you opt to get them touched up every 2-3 years? or do you let them fade (not that that's bad!)? very cool about the wings too -- how fitting

#1 i think its cool 'cause feet are so ugly... its like painting your toes, ya gotta dress em up a little

maybe people are just getting skinnier or going for the *hot* spandex look..... NAH! see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com

PEACEFULJEFFREY -- you were right the first time: the instep (top) of my foot, a little off-center towards the arch. i agree with you on tattoos being a very spiritual/personal thing! SHOTGUN -- yeah i have a rather large tattoo on my mid-back, left of the spine..... just wondering how a foot tattoo compares. i don't know, but i have an inkling its NOT going to tickle.... think about all those veins in your feet! thats the whole reason for this post :) thanks for all the input... please share any more personal stories/heresay!!! ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com

Choosing a University for Undergrad: What is important
rocketdog replied to SkydiveNFlorida's topic in The Bonfire
i would consider PRESTIGE OF THE COLLEGE (AS A WHOLE). when a potential employer quickly glances @ your resume/application, or when a connection overhears your college, the name should jump out at them -- that may be your lucky break! if they have to ask ("what school again?") or look into the school's merit, i bet they'd view that more as a setback (rather than a positive) .... good luck! ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com -
I haven't been to Skydive Greensburg's main facility in Indiana....however, I did travel 1,000+ miles ONE WAY to make it to their 2nd Marco Island boogie in Florida. Yes, boogies are more chaotic, but the lack of communication, organization and professionalism from the overseers @ Skydive Greensburg was appalling! The landing area was incredibly small, crowded w/ tourists, and had 1 OUT (the Gulf) -- with only a B License requirement!? When the entire event was cancelled ON THE 1st DAY, no refunds for registration were offered, no apologies given (that I heard).... very greedy & shady if you ask me. Overall, the Marco Island boogie that was advertised SO heavily fell to complete shambles. Although it was a boogie, I wouldn't be quick to spend money or my life at anything promoted by this company.

Spidermonky -- VERY cool pic... tell your girlfriend to get on here & tell me how much it hurt. i agree, if i *really* want it, i'll get it. however, if its extremely painful to get the original tattoo, it would make me that much more squeam-ish to go back and CONSTANTLY get it touched up. btw: how often do they usually need touched up? years? months? THANKS ALL! ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com

I was considering getting a golf ball-sized tattoo on the instep of my foot (offset towards the arch a little). my friend has one & said it was no big deal, the tattoo artist said "feet are tough!" ........help me out here......... any experiences? thanks! ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com

oh of course! i'm sure even the best find things that need improvement! i STILL can't get on my head to save my life.... but am making small, sluggish steps towards holding head-down. i have learned with LOTS of solos (or maybe 2-ways with a much more experienced jumper) & just experimenting. like you, i tried early and on-off to learn HD, then gave up out of frustration. but i've found that doing lots of sitting/standing/RW in the meantime has unintentionally prepared me for head-down because now i know how to fly my body better..... make sense? **best of luck & don't jump in a Racer :) ** ~hollywood see the world! http://gorocketdog.blogspot.com
