    Do I owe beer?

All this talk about beer is making me thirsty. Qustion: What is the beer of choice at your DZ. With my DZ, as long as it is wet and contains alcohol, it will be drank. For my first case of beer I went to a local gas station and got a case of a local brew called Dead Guy Ale. Had a picture of a skeleton sitting on a keg. Not bad beer.
  3. If you BASE jump off the empire state building and your chute doesnt open, go limp. then you'll look like a dummy and someone will try to catch you because hey.......free dummy!! Where have I heard this before. Was it a deep thought by Jack Handy???

    Quincy

I was in the same boat last year with only around 70 jumps before Quincy. I was concerned, But had no problem with the amount of people. however, it is something to be cautious about. As long as you are safe and use good judgement then you should not have a problem, I think the minimum requirement is 50 jumps or the equivilent of a B license. I hope to see everyone there
  5. Got one Small family lives out in the country. One morning the mother and son have an argument. The mother tells the child before breakfest he has to finish his chors. He walks outside slamming the door. while he walks to the barn a chicken crosses his path and he kicks the chicken. As he strolls near a pig the kid throws a rock at the pig. When he enters the barn he slaps the cow. 1/2 hour later he walks inside and finds a dry bowl of cereal waiting. he says what is this. The morther says I say you kick the chicken so you get no eggs, I saw what you did to the pig so no bacon, and I saw you slap the cow so you get no milk in your cereal. That evening the two are sitting on the porch when the father comes home from a hard day in the field, as he walks up the stairs their cat runs in front of him so he kicks the cat across the porch. The little boy looks at his mom and says, "should I tell him or do you want to"

    Quincy

Just got my Quincy 2000 video and it took me all of three sec. to get it into the VCR. I can't wait till Quincy 2001. Just wanted to know who was going and if we were going to set up a DZ.Com jump(s). Counting down the days Blue skies
  7. It is odd, I watched that movie last night. As for the post, keep em cumming, a sense of humor has never killed anyone. Well except for that roger rabbit movie where those toons died from laughing.
  8. While reading posts I noticed that our home DZs are all very different. Just wondering where everyone's home away from home was located, how big it is, plane, and anything else. My DZ is about an hour 1/2 south east of Nashville, and is relativly small. We used to jump a DC3 but are now down to a c182. I can drive the other direction into Ky for a larger DZ, but enjoy the regulars at TSC.

    Do I owe beer?

You have passed the final test. You are now officialy a sky god. Anyone who will go through all that and still make another load earns my respect. Go forth and teach. As for the beer, it could never hurt.
  10. I have been looking at both the crossfire and the cobalt. How does the nose of the cobalt compare to that of the crossfire. I know that the flare is deep with the safire and crossfire, how does the cobalt compare. Sorry never jumped a cobalt.
  11. I have put around 100 jumps on my sabre 150 and most of those have been psycho-packed. My openings are quick but not at all hard. I do not roll the nose either. I have had one slammer, however I was still in a track when I threw my p/c, so it is hard to blame my sabre. I have heard stories about the sabre being vicious, but if you treat her right you should have nothing to worry about.
  12. Did anyone get to jump angel falls? I myself did not but a buddy did and said it was unbelievabe. I could only imagine.
  13. My first rigs were used and I have had absolutly no complaints with any of my gear. It is however time to downsize. I know what I am looking for and do not mind paying a bit extra for new gear. If I could find what I want used than that would be my first choice. I do agree that used is usually the best and cheapest way to go, especially for a new jumper.
  14. I will soon be buying my new rig and would like to hear stories and opinions from others. I have contacted a few dealers (Square 1, Sky Kat, Pier LTD) and have gotten quick replies. Price is always an issue but so is customer service. Please share your opinions good/bad and experiences.
