Lost Prairie 2007 40th Anniversary Boogie
BirdWoman replied to Amazon's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Yup, you heard me. I figure since this is going to be the big 4-0, we should put together a nice flock with some smoke. How about it Baby Bird...ya in? (I still need to get you the footage of the smoke flock we did last year ) So, calling all birdies: bring your smoke and let's get a good smokin' flock this year! Good old wind. It was windy here in COS as well but, surprisingly, it was dead calm out at the dz in Calhan. The uppers, however, were hauling pretty good "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

Elaborate Skydiving; Calhan, Colorado
BirdWoman replied to BirdWoman's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Hello Skydivers! As the new year approaches it seems that there is a rumor that Elaborate Skydiving in Calhan is closing. I am here to bring the news that the rumor is just that...A RUMOR. Elaborate is doing better than expected and, as a result, has a lease on a caravan starting 02 January. (Yes, you heard me right...a caravan will arrive for your jumping pleasure on this upcoming Tuesday). Our dropzone has a laid back family atmosphere. Need I mention that we cook a free breakfast on Sunday mornings (waffles, eggs, sausage or bacon and Starbucks coffee)??? If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us at 719-522-9300. Happy Jumping! Stacey C. Elaborate Skydiving; Calhan, CO "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me -
Alienware vs. Dell notebooks for editing
BirdWoman replied to BirdWoman's topic in Photography and Video
I am debating whether I should get an Alienware or Dell notebook. The main purpose is going to be editing. The two that I am looking at are the Alienware Aurora M9700 and the Dell Inspiron M1710. Can anybody offer any kind of feedback from using either of these (good or bad)? Dollar for dollar, the Alienware is a little cheaper but I don't really know what their customer service is like for repairs. Thanks! Don't go getting your hopes up 'cuz you beat my Avs. Oh, wait a minute, go ahead and get your hopes up...the Avs kinda suck this year. "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

Thanks Shell. I guess you know where I've been all weekend... "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me -
You know Phil, if we keep this up I WILL have to come up there to separate Shell from Aud in a cat fight While I'm at it, I can kick your ass too! Don't worry Shell, if you can't steal any of Auds (if it's not all drunk by now) , I can still send you a couple bottles... I can send you a couple bottles if you would like. I think I know how to get them up there... "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

That's the rumor at least. Although I won't be able to have any because of the chocolate Did I mention that while he as at the brewery to pick up a couple of cases, the huck-n-honey was so fresh that it had just come off the bottling line and put into the box?? SWEEEETTT!!! "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

Speaking of Lang beer, my hubby was saying that he tried a new dark beer they are working on. I guess it tastes like chocolate... "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

So, Shannon, you never did tell us what kind of beer you're buying for your 700th...I think your video flyer from that jump deserves at least one. Don't worry though, you can make it up to me next year! (By the way, I am starting the vid tomorrow) AND I did follow through with my promise to my friend Mia. I will post pics here in a minute under the original thread... Feisty "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

Hey Rob, no worries. Glad you could be a part of Kyle's 100th. I should start the editing on it tomorrow.. Feisty "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

That is a very good question. Have you tried to email anybody directly from Mile-Hi, like Pintamo or Brooke? I haven't seen him in a while now... "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

I don't know what you have cooking for jello shots, but I have some kick-ass ones in my fridge right now for those who are lucky enough to partake in them when I get there Friday... I have been teasing Shell with them for a couple of days now. See ya there.. Just keep swimming! "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

Yeah, right. Easier said than done. I can't even get her to Taekwondo. Besides, rumor has it...I'll tell you later. "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

Is anybody from Colorado making a short trip to LP this year that has room for a PAYING passenger? If so, please let me know ASAP. Stacey "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

I guess we need to work on that, huh? Weren't we going to do it to the "Flipper" theme song?? "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

You mean Flipper? Did we ever write a song about him? "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

Me...not over-do it? Yeah, right. You funny girl. PM sent "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

Don't worry ladydyver, I'll still be at LP and would love to hang out with ya! "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

I don't think anything is broken. Here's what happened: About a month ago I was setting up for a jumping side kick and when I planted for my kick, something popped on top of my ankle by the medial malleolus; it was just medial of the midline on the top of the ankle joint. I started taping it with top straps and heel locks and it seemed to help. Two nights ago we were doing a bunch of quick rotating steps and a new pain grew in the same location but on the lateral aspect. Last night we were doing some jumping front snap kicks and on this one particular paddle strike, there was a really big pop in the same location as the first pop with a shooting pain. It was so bad that I was almost in tears. I can still walk on it and right now it's kindof achy. I narrowed the anatomy in that area to 1) the navicular bone 2) any of those little ligaments around the navicular, or (the most likely) 3)inferior extensor retinaculum. "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me

Has anybody here ruptured (or injured) any of the tendons that are ontop of the ankle/foot? I think I did something not so good to something in that area in taekwondo and am trying to self-diagnose what I did "I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me
-
Amazon, don't you know by now that MadJohn is the ONLY one capable of somewhat organizing people to attempt to make a skydive at LP at the same time? Besides, trying to get Shell away from the lake will take a lot of Kokanee on the skyvan Now, if we could organize some kind of lake jump... Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...
