  1. Thanks for bringing all the demo Wings containers out last weekend Colon and Ankie! And we'll be giving out your "50% off Wings container" certificates this weekend. Hope to see you back at ASC soon! Later, Mike ChutingStar.com
  2. One of the instructors at ASC brought an old Wonderhog out of his closet last week and I have a "rigger-in-training" who is interested in packing it a few times to build up some pack jobs as well as practice on a round. It has a Phantom reserve. I've searched this forum as well as a some other rigging web sites, but have been unable to locate a manual for the Wonderhog. Anyone have one that I could get a copy of? Thanks, Mike ChutingStar.com

  14. We are using reserve Slinks which are thicker than main Slinks. We have been unable to create the problem you have described with the Mirage D-bags. There could be issues with deployment bags that have larger grommets. Hope that helps, Mike ChutingStar.com
  15. I feel like an old grumpy man sometimes! Ahhhh...the hazards of getting into rigging.

  17. Rigging Innovations uses a split ring that has reduced or eliminated that type of wear. Another option we've started using at Atlanta Skydiving Center is PD Slinks. We're using Slinks on the bridle attachments inside Mirage main deployment bags. Mike ChutingStar.com

  19. Well I can't complain about the wait between the 1st and second load since I held up the 1st load 20 minutes by showing up late! What an awesome way to start off a day at the drop zone! The turnout for the BCCP was the best ever...14 of us crazy morning canopy pilots! Jim Vance gets the most improved award with his 3 pond swoops...and actually touching water...he can do it! We're on again for next Thursday, 8 a.m. See you then! ChutingStar.com
  20. Yeah, every Thursday Shimell! Don't you notice when your roommates leave early every Thursday morning for the BCCP? See you next week...shimellnator. ChutingStar.com

  23. This past weekend was its first official weekend in operation. Longtime Atlanta Skydiving Center Instructor Darren Doyle is managing the new location. A Cessna 182 flew 20 loads the first day with staff, fun jumpers and 1st-time tandems. A Porter will arrive soon and other aircraft will be brought in from time-to-time. It is a USPA drop zone with fulltime AFF and tandem instructors. I made a bunch of jumps there this weekend. Good fun. Hope that helps, Mike ChutingStar.com
  24. Rain and low clouds kept the BCCP on the ground...but there was still free Chick-fil-A biscuits for everybody. We're on again for next Thursday...looking forward to clear skies! Mike ChutingStar.com
  25. Thursday, April 1, (no joke) was the inaugural day of the Breakfast Club of Canopy Piloting at Atlanta Skydiving Center. The Twin Otter was wheels up at 7:30 a.m. with our first load of hop 'n pops! Thanks to Tyler, Dan and Mike for making the first week a success. The idea for a once-a-week early morning session of jump was the brainchild of Tyler Lawson of Team Flatline (BCCP #1). So here's the scoop: Every Sunday night, a day will be determined for the BCCP to meet that week for early morning jumps from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. One person will be in charge of bringing breakfast: doughnuts, Chick-fil-A biscuits or whatever. Wheels up will be 7:30 a.m. on that morning out the Twin Otter or Cessna 205. We will keep jumping until you have to leave for work (or play hooky and jump with us all day long!) We invite all skydivers with "real jobs" to come sneak in a skydive or two before heading to work. Come get your adrenaline pumping, work on your accuracy, practice your swoop, meet the requirement for your PRO rating or just throw yourself out of the plane for the pure fun of it! Canopy coaches can help you with your skills or help you sign off the requirements for your A License, and our S&TA will be available to sign you off for your PRO rating. Make some jumps and then head to work. Our next meeting of the BCCP is set for Thursday, April 8 at 7:30 a.m. at ASC. See you there! http://ascskydiving.com/atlanta_skydiving_news.html Mike ChutingStar.com
