  4. One of my teams had a bag lock where the rubber band (regular type) broke and in so doing wrapped itself around the lines again and they couldn't be released. It is a bit besaar but we have Photo's somewhere if i find them i'll upload them. Situation - totally unavoidable
  5. If you are looking at getting afaster suit the Matter is the way to go. Their suits are based around the principle that you fly the suit and the suit does fly you, as you find with the bigger baggier suits. The more experianced you get the better you will understand this theory, especially as a free flyer.
  6. All depends at which Dz you will be jumping and how cofident you would feel jumping again. If you are a member at the club already and you feel confident just buy a ticket and jump, but first get in a practice harness and go thorugh your reserve drills thoroughly ( this way of doing it is against the BPA rules so it's up to you). Again depending on what DZ you are at and you do it the proper way they should make you go through all the resrve procedures, may make you repeat an AFF level 6/7 or just make you do a level 8 and hop and pop from 5 grand. The only way you will find out which will apply is go to the DZ and ask, or just phone them up. Don't go to Headcorn for this, in the past I was current and just wanted to jump but having not jumped there before it was going to cost me £90, so been un-current will cost you more.....and yes I don't like the place at all.
  7. If i'm going to coach I would like my slot paid for, in return a coach jump, video and a debrief and wouldn't charge an additional cost. Having jumped all over I've paid for full coaching rates but also only a slot, and any coaching can be invaluable. If it was a fun jump with a newbie and I wasn't jumping with anyone else I wouldn't mind paying my own slot, keeps my skill level up to scratch.
  8. Still trying to recover from my brush with Satan in Sweden. Yeah but you had a good time with devil Man didn't you??????
  9. You must be some one they told to fu*k off the DZ because you were a complete tit, that's why you must be pissed at them......wanker
  10. You are right, looked again and you can also notice the the pic was taken at a slight angle, combined with the fish-eye creating the atmonauti 'illusion'. I stand corrected.
  11. Low budget airplanes in the UK weigh your carry on luggage , max weight 7kg (16lbs), and some can be very particular about this as well.
  12. PD were at the Swedish F/F festival doing demo canopies. They had with them bags which locked the risers in place once athe bagged main was taken out of the rig, so unless you have something like this I would also recommend you pack from scratch. Not only is it possible to reverse your caopy but you could also twist a single riser round without noticing it.
  13. Spend the money and get yourself Diamond you won't be sorry.
  14. Was this a "I need my rig back as soon as possible, like today" kind of repack? No it was a case of as soon as it could be done. Lots of DZ's have high overheads, but none that I know or have been to have ever charged this much, thisis a piss take in my books. The loft that used to be behind Square One, Adventure Sports Loft, is now located in a building by the dz entrance. They charge (IIRC) $75 for a regular repack. They may charge extra for "same day" repacks, not sure. Not apologizing for the price, but they do have some serious overhead with the building on the dz, all the sewing machines and the employees. They do good work; until recently that was where I got my gear packed (didn't stop using them because of price but because a friend got her ticket). There are other riggers in and around Perris who charge less and do quality work. It's not like your teammate had no other choice... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> That $90 probably included a rush fee. The rush fee is a result of rigger burnout. Picture this, you have already worked a 50 hour week with no air-conditioning, when someone asks you to stay late on Friday evening to repack his reserve. So you skip the sunset load and happy hour and are grumpy when you report for your tandem job Saturday and Sunday mornings. Oh, and the customer does not return to pick up his rig for three weeks. That is why they charge a rush fee. I used to work in that loft and understand where they are coming from. It happened on the first load and it was on tuesday, so he had plenty of time.
  15. QuoteOther: Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Out Out, KMFDM, Meat Beat Manifesto, Front 242, Collapsing Lungs, 1000 Homo DJs, Delirium Then there are techno groups/tracks that fit this type but aren't really considered "industrial" This is my kind of guy, i'm also into industrial, bit of gothic and the Noise Industrial stuff

  17. Agreed if you can take the time to learn Premiere it is very good, if not try using Video Vegas, if still not trade in your system for a Mac.
  18. When we were out at Perris a couple of years back , one of my team mates needed to have a repack after a Mal. The guy who did it is behind Square 1 shop ( He doesn't work or have any relation to Sqaure1, need to make it clear after a mis understanding before) but he charged $90 to repack it, how's that for a rip off.
  19. You can buy it off their website www.friflaj.com When you can last years video you get the previous years on the same tape as well. Yes it is an excellent Video, some awesome freeflying on it.

    BEER...

I think alot of people are seen to drink beer at the end of a day because skydiving is a very sociable sport, small number of people in the sport so everybody knows somebody who is a friend somewhere along the line and are always sharing stories, stories especially at the end of the day oof how the big one got away.
  22. You're ratio of servers to desktops is kinda... weird. Not really, our company is a finacial institution, so most are Application/Dbase/development servers. We no longer look after the SUN kit (which I didnt include)just became to much so couldn't even tell you what systems they are running there, I know they have just purchased 2 monster SUN servers about $3mil each, but not sure what they are yet, havn't seen them.
  23. Nice job, my only concern would be that cut away ring, that is very loose and very snaggable. You on't want to complete a cool setup to lose it. Maybe a velcro type handle along the side instead?
  24. All nice and neat, i wish my team only looked after that few. Currently have 1500 desktops and about 1000 servers and although the servers are neat the desktops are sometimes all over the place. What machines are those in the Pic any way??
