Have you ever been injured while skydiving?
TattooedMoFo replied to Clownburner's topic in Safety and Training
Touch wood, no injuries as of yet.....will probarbly spank it in now on my next jump -
Would love to help you out but i'm afraid at 6'3 you would be able to use them as a sleping bag.

freefly question, need advise please...
TattooedMoFo replied to justhavingfun's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I was the same as you, while doing my consoles on AFF I had xperianced FFs(5000+ jumps) ask me what i'm doing,i'd tell them and their reply would be no you're not you are coming with us. I've never known anything else except freeflying and at one stage i also got the mandatory story that you just had. If you weren't getting some form of coaching the I would have been inclined to agree with that guy to a point. FF you have atendancy to track across the sky very quickly without realising it, especially HD, and some people are not aware of this and possibly dangers. But you are getting coaching so go for it girlfriend and bollocks to the rest of them, within reason of course, safety first!!!! -
Depends on who's titties they are in my face, and how long they will stay there, otherwise definitely

When did you go to an elliptical canopy?
TattooedMoFo replied to superstu's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Got my Hurricane 135 ( loaded about 1.6) at about 360/370, one of the sweetest canopies I have owned. -
Ask Square 1 to ship your rig as either "Demo goods" or as "Goods repaired" this will get you around the customs/tax issue. If there is any invoices or forms of the like, get them sent in a seperate envelope and not together with the rig. The only thing with this is the value of insuarance may be lower, but if it is sent via Fedex, UPS etc then you shouldn't have the worry of it getting lost.

2k Composite owners.....may I pick your noggin?
TattooedMoFo replied to jose's topic in Photography and Video
I did the opposite, abandoned my FF2 for a Hawkeye. I had the problem that the FF2 did not fit properly for me and with a camera just made it worse. Met up with a friend the weekend who has an FFX and has the same problem I had. 2K helmets are great, loved mine but make sure it fits properly on your head otherwise you could also end up with some sort of issue. Some replies to your questions: 1: Comes standard I think now with a chin cup, otherwise just a strap under the chin. 2. .45 Yes 3. don't know, but having looked at the lens I think it will catch the edge of the helmet in the frame, ask Steve at 2K for the answer. 4. No 5.No, but then again you now owe beer for asking so many annoying questions:: LOL -
Never had that but it looks like a damaged disk. Take it back and get it replaced.

barrel rolls to check airspace before pulling
TattooedMoFo replied to andy2's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I "think" [remaining open-minded] I'll play by the tried & true rules - if I follow the "mantra" and track flatter, more forward, then I gain more valuable distance. I'll be waving at 2500 & throwing at 2k. ------------------------------------------------------------ It's not always black and white like that. I've had to throw out at 1400 because of a jump go horribly wrong. Throwing out at that height saved my life and 2 others who happened to be directly above me at pull time. -
Where did you see that you need that to jump any of them???? Just checked for the Balloon jump you need to be a B License holder.... Will find out about the helicopter.

Not only is the lighter fluid method an NO NO the Coke in itself is a big danger because of it corrosive properties, unless it's powder form, then you get your mates round to help clean it up for.

peel and pull the reserve, dont just pull
TattooedMoFo replied to Newbie's topic in Safety and Training
Freeflyers prefer soft handles because of some of the exits you can make as well as harness grips that can be taken during a jump. A D ring is very easy to snag and a pillow reduces the risk but does not eliminate it. -
barrel rolls to check airspace before pulling

Check this link out, don't know how to make it clicky but if it doesn't work do a search on Satan666 (usernames) posts for a post called Learn a lesson. Their are 4 pics from a person above him, which shows why a barrel roll is important. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=207075;search_string=search_string;#207075 -
barrel rolls to check airspace before pulling
TattooedMoFo replied to andy2's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It is very important and should be done espcially when in large groups, and you end up with people everywhere in the sky. Large tracking dives been the main culprit. The low man may have the right of way but what if he is a few feet above you and can't get out the way before you dump???? Doing a barrel roll checks for this and gives each of you time to make quick adjustments. I whole hearted agree with Lisa practice them by yourself or in a very small group, you wil be surprised how you can make a 180 degree turn without even realising it , if you are not good at it. For the Vector2 there is a few mods that rigger could do for you to help keep flaps down, but barrels rolls and the like shouldn't force a premature deployment. -
Making a Marriage last - male point of view 1. Two times a week, we go to a nice restaurant, have a little wine, some good food and companionship. She goes Tuesdays, I go Fridays. 2. We also sleep in separate beds. Hers is in Sydney and mine is in Melbourne. 3. I take my wife everywhere, but she keeps findi her way back. 4. I asked my wife where she wanted to go for our anniversary. "Somewhere I haven't been in a long time!" she said. So I suggested the kitchen. 5. We always hold hands. If I let go, she shops. 6. She has an electric blender, electric toaster and electric bread maker Then she said, "There are too many gadgets and no place to sit down!". So I bought her an electric chair. 7. Remember.... Marriage is the number one cause of divorce. Statistically, 100% of all divorces started with marriage. 8. I married Miss Right. I just didn't know her first name was Always. 9. I haven't spoken to my wife for 18 months. I don't like to interrupt her. 10. The last fight was my fault. My wife asked, "What's on the TV?".... I said, "Dust!"

If you decide to leave it packed while stored remove the pilot shute from the pouch, it helps prevent the pouch stretching

Feel too scared to continue
TattooedMoFo replied to JenBubbles's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I had a similar problem myself. I did static line progression up until 5sec freefall, which out of a Cessna 206 and 4000ft scared the living shit out ofme at the time. Due to work issues I din't jump for about a year, but the feeling and love of the sport(even scared) I signed up to do my AFF. Once I was out there and looking at the documents having signed and paid I was struck by a similar fear you have now, but I did it did it and pushed to do the 2nd level. By pushing myself it helped get over it. Fear is natural and even when you have done hundreds of jumps every once in awhile that fear creeps back in, and many skydivers will tell you that. But you must remember you did the training, the JM feels confident in your ability to take you up and let you jump , and yes it is dangerous and yes things go wrong, but the training provided will help over come any of the problems that you may encounter. When you accept all of that, you will wonder why you feared it in the forst place. just relax and have fun it will eventually go away. Good luck and blue skies -
' in Germany that weekend so won't be attending, but I do have the other 2 idiots from my trio that make up the TattooedMoFos and tey will be around to enforce. I will send this on to the Wiggaz as well, i'm sure Matt or Rob could make a point about it.
