  2. thanks for the advice vidiot, but id spent quite a lot of time on their website already looking for car hire accom etc, but there is no mention that the DZ basically isnt operative there when boogies arent on, i only got suspicious when the contact numbers were in germany!!!
  3. Arse would be the best word now!!!! may have to look at driving to seville if thats the case, otherwise anyone know any lapdancing bars in alvor??? ha ha
  4. Im about 90% through my plans to visit skydive -algarve with 3 friends from 16-19th ocotober 06 when i started doubting if they are open year round and during the week We have other friends attending the xmas boogie, but i assumed like empuria in spain that the boogie was a big event, but the dz was open apart from that, but im now wondering if the owners/operators who all appear to be german just "decant" themselves and there aircraft/gear etc to the airport for occasional events I'm seriously hoping im wrong but would appreciate it if someone could clear it up for me as ive had no sucess contacting the dz by phone or mail and the website seems to have V little info on it re this cheers for any help and ill keep my fingers crossed till then!!!

    Skydive Salerno

Whilst on a "family" holiday just up the coast in Sorrento, i managed to "slip" away one day to skydive Salerno, the dropzone was easy to find as it is located on the towns airport. there is a spacious hangar with classrooms, bunk-house, toilets showers etc included within the building, all clean and well equipped. there is a bar area for after jumping has concluded, as well as a small pool for skydivers to cool down in during the hot summer months between lifts. pack jobs are a measly 3 euros. Kit hire is only of basic student type kit, so i found myself jumping a big old pd210 on a non freefly friendly old vector! so if you have more than the occasional jump in mind consider taking your own kit! The aircraft there in july 2003 was a porter, the website mentions a cessna caravan but i'm not sure why that wasn't there. The only slight problem i had was with communication, i speak a little pidgin Italian, but very few of the people there spoke any english, i was lucky enough to find a very friendly guy called Vincenzo who spoke very good English but he was often busy so i treid not to impose myself on him, thismeant i made a lot of hand signals, gesticulations, and noises to make myself understoood along with my italian/english phrase book!! All in all a very friendly, efficient and fun dropzone, highly recommended!

    FF2

I wish i could agree about the customer service! i ordered my ff2 a couple of years ago now and was quoted 4 weeks, after 5 i rang to see where it was upto "oh just having the liner fitted!!" By week 11 i was beginning to see it It finally turned up on week 12!not good! The fit was hardly comfortable and the camcorder cover didnt fit the extra duration battery size as i had requested. oh and the back split after only a cpl of dozen time of wearing it, from where i eased it open to put it on my head, but apart from that ita basically a sound design which has since been improved especially aesthetically as mine is a very ugly style older one and the dual audible ports are good, bit pricey nowadays though!
