  1. Would this be The Anvil I had the honor of jumping with in Titusville last October? We tried the speed star and a couple of other jumps. If it is, How are ya?
  2. I've seen alot of different ones. I tried alot of different variations of skydiving terms and finally went with "I 4EFALL"
  3. Mine is a virginia plate, I 4EFALL
  4. Jitters? What's that? Just kidding. I've 835 jumps and I get a little nervous on every jump. Keeps me alert as to what going on around me. I really had them in the beginning and they tend to lessen the more you jump, but they never completely go away. Or at least for me they don't.
  5. If there is a no go for you on anything closer to Wise, You are more than welcome to come to my home dz, Skydive Virginia, in Louisa county. There is also Skydive Orange about 20 minutes more. Also Skydive the Point about another hour and a half in West Point, Va. I believe there may ba a couple of smaller ones a little closer, but at the moment, their names escape my mind. Jon
  6. I only know of some near Richmond Va. You may want to check for dz's in Kentucky, Tennessee, or even North Carolina. It would be a heck of a drive to the ones in our area. Good luck on your quest.
  7. Yes, unfortunately. Very good friend of mine. Just as I walked out of the hanger, looked up, and saw it happen. Lifeflight was brought in, and I knew he was gone when the helo shut down it's engines. Nobody at our dz got much sleep that night. I kept seeing and hearing it over and over, every time I closed my eyes.
  8. Hey, I once screwed up a 5 way when I had about 25 or 30 jumps. lol Ok, I've messed up on others too, not just once. I brainfarted on the next point and etc... Well, On this 5 way, my pre-second time jumping with a group, I was jumping with 4 others who had quite a bit more jumps than me. I got on the ground and started my apoligies to them, and One of the guys looks at me and says, If the others in the group get mad because they feel like you screwed up their jump, then you are jumping with wrong people. There is nothing stopping us from going back up and trying again. I've always remembered that bit of advice and to this day when I jump with someone new and they start apoligizing for that, I quote them the same that was quoted to me.
  9. I just ordered the .05, but Max called it the stealth .5x....lol
  10. Re you talking about .3x diamond lens? And you say it doesn't fog whatso-ever?
  11. Ah, but Mike, I do know this about TheMonkey...
  12. I have a sony trv20, and it used to do that when I had it exposed in freefall. I got a box made for that type of sony and cut out the foam at that point for the camera and it's work great till 2 weeks ago. The red light went out on exit. It came back on about 10 seconds into freefall, and I thought I lost the exit of the tandem. When I got on the ground, I discovered that it had kept recording. I found out that if I slightly wiggle it and set the male plug parralelle with ground it does fine. The box does have a hole right where the plug goes, so I can reach it to wiggle, when the camera is in the box, just before exit. Hope this helps.
  13. lol, We actually have that cut from the package and taped up on our student hanger wall.
  14. Supportive parents? LOL My Father wishes I would "take up something safer, like bicycleing" My mother doesn't think much of it. I asked her what she thought and she said, " I don't like it, but if that is what you want to do, then don't let anyone stop you."
