  1. Got a new TRV camera (the 27) and a Bonehead D-box. Most of the cameras I see in boxes still have the hand strap on them. This box doesnt seem to have the room in there for the hand strap. I would rather not remove it if I dont have to. Its one of the new Bonehead boxes with the hinge on one side and the hinge looking closure on the other. On the older D-box, the top nested in the bottom, right, and you held the top on with a couple of fastex straps. Any ideas? I might just do what I did with the PC9 and fabricate an L bracket and pad it so I can leave the hand strap on. I dunno...
  2. I'll be there Saturday. Hopefully filming some of those chicky dives...
  3. Hmmm, lets see... My Kawi ZX12R Ninja - goes faster than a speeding skydiver. My rifles of course. Just got me an Accuracy International, probably the tuffest, most accurate sniper rifle out there. Hey Deuce, send me a PM on that M1A... JC

  5. At SD Dallas: tandems run $199 (group discounts apply) Video or stills only pays $30 Video and stills together pays $40 JC
  6. I'll be there and I already have my (second) balloon jump scheduled! It'll be my gf's first si I'll prolly get suckered into videoing it. Thatll be cool too tho... JC
  7. THIS is the kind of statement made by people who have never been in a moving gunfight before (since there is no such thing as a STATIC gunfight). Gunfights are not the pull-your-pistol-shoot-one-round-the-bad-guy-drops affairs you see on TV. Its not as easy to get a one round hit (or any hit for that matter) during a moving, in the dark, people shooting at you gunfight. Its not as easy as Mel Gibson makes it look. Also, we're not trained to shoot people in the leg, shoot guns out of people's hands, or shoot to wound. We're trained to shhot for center mass, ie the torso. Front, back, side, whatever... JC
  8. Thank you, I'll pass that along to the other Southerners that we lost the Civil War. Lord knows we can barely dress ourselves in the morning much less read fancy 'ol history books. I'll just crawl back into my double-wide, get some good lovin' from Daddy and iron my rebel flag. *** Heeee, that made me laff!
  9. They did restrain him....with bullets...
  10. Im gonna have to call this one like I see it: Yes, youre going to DIE! And youre going to trash a very nice bike in the process. Ive been riding bikes (mainly sportbikes) for since I was about 10 (im 39). I currently ride a Kawasaki ZX12R (Ninja 1200). Look it up, its the number 1 or 2 fastest bike in the world depending on who's writing the story. At any rate, no way in hell would I need to be on this (or the 'busa) without some serious experience. Unfortunately, this is a lot like skydiving and downsizing, youre probably not going to listen. My advise: get a 'beater' bike for a year and learn to ride, then get a 500 or 600cc sportbike and learn some more. Those'll go plenty fast enough to kill you too. JC
  11. Nicely done. Congrats. My brother has his PBA card and has several (sanctioned and non-sanctioned) 300 games. He's still stoked every time he gets close. JC
  12. OK, am I the only one that thinks this makes no sense at all? Youre still wearing a camera on your head, but its not running during freefall? Does this make it any less of a snag hazard because its not running? The only advantage I see is that youre not dividing your concentration between flying the camera and watching out for other skydivers. However most people I know would still "fly" the camera as if its running thereby voiding that issue. JC
  13. 2 in 650, but those 2 were in the first 100 jumps.
  14. If its really Irving. Youre about an hour away from SD Dallas. Come on out and jump with us!
  15. About 3 minutes Unfortunately its about to change to 20 minutes or so. What am I gonna do with myself!? Im gonna hafta get books on tape just to get thru it!
  16. See? And I wanna START hauling freight. Thinking about taking the course late this year or sometime next year. As long as I can keep doing video too!
  17. Ive got a fairly extensive (and expensive) knife collection,,mostly higher end stuff, but I also have several I use for daily carry. I also have a SWAT knife. I have it on my pistol leg holster and its more of a "beater" knife, meaning that I dont mind if I lay on it on the concrete and it gets scuffed up and I wouldnt be devistated if I lost it. For carry use it gets more expensive. I usually carry my Benchmade Darkstar or Benchmade CQC-6 (Emerson copy). If I'm feeling especially froggy, I'll whip out the big boy and carry my Spiderco Civilian (one evil looking knife if youve ever seen one). Its not a bad deal for what you paid for it but dont expect it to hold up forever. JC
  18. Way sorry to hear about Brutus. I ve been there and its one of the hardest decisions Ive ever had to make but in my heart, and yours too, you know it was the right thing to do for your friend. JC
  19. Nothing wrong that a good RESERVE wont fix...
  20. Ok... If a single pin fails 9 months ago do you really expect the manufactor to recall all other pins with just a single issue? At the notice of a second failure Mirage started the ball rolling and got the cause investigated.*** Thank you. I was just about to say this. One of my rigs IS one that is affected, so I have a direct stake in this. My only complaint is having to pay for a replacement if I dont want to wait. I'm not necessarily blaming Mirage for that, I'm just impatient, greedy, and dont like to part with my money. Whatcha gonna do? Send it in and wait or pay and dont wait (and get your refund later). JC
  21. Ya, its good. Well worth the money. Most of the tunes are kinda the same tempo as Bring Me To Life, but some harder and some softer.
  22. OK, I was doing just fine until you said: ....I was the only one with clothes on! Then I got an instant visual of: ...AggieDave hanging (um...literally) from our cheststraps. And it all went downhill from there...
