  1. So I have another "new" to me piece of gear, that I am trying to find out when it was made and for whom. If someone can host a picture I have one I can send one. For the life of me I can't figure out how to do it off this tablet. This altimeter is marked: Altimaster II on the back of the casing. - black face with white numbers - no manufacture markings on the face. - large numbers 10-1. ( not the normal 12-1 ) - small numbers 20-11 - here is the kicker. The numbers glow as does the needle, and bright too - Alti is tied to a wedge with white 550. Alone ever run across one of these before? I am guessing maybe this is a Military Alti but am not sure.
  2. Same color and dbag....it may be the same canopy.
  3. The plot thickens. I can't find a manufactures stamp on this chute...granted my house is dark and I might just be missing it but it doesn't stand out, if that's the case. Still trying to get photos ( its still raining here) the material is crisp but one panel has a few line burn holes I'd like to get patched. Canopy is orange blue and white. I hate orange and even I think it looks nice. Propblast
  4. Thanks to all. I'll try to get photos tomorrow weather permitting. It's going to need one small patch for sure and the lines are, interesting.
  5. Wendy, thanks for the quick reply. I can't believe that I really see no info on this canopy around the net. Your response is appreciated. Propblast
  6. I was given a interesting canopy today and I am looking for any info on it. The owner here hadn't had it long and knew nothing about it. The canopy is a sparrow, ( it looks very similar to my MK 1 PC) mounted on three ring risers. My copy of Poynter VII says Whildin Canopies may have manufactured it. The interesting thing is the canopy doesn't use a sleeve(which I am familiar with) or a POD but rather a dbag. This bag has what I believe is a #8 grommet that the crown lines pass through and then a series of stows around the grommet to stow the crown lines outside of the bag. The crown lines have a short bridle and a throw out pilot chute attached. Anyone ever see one of these before or jump it. I'll try to get pics up later.
  7. That is a awesome vid!! A lot of happy people there. Propblast
  8. Terry, I'm not "to" afraid of the landing I have a little over 120 landings on T10 and various other rounds... Well in all honesty I was just curious "if" it had been done and if so how. I know intentional cutaway rigs have been done in the past I had never heard of a PC being used. Purely academic as I figured it was way to big. ETA: just read the post on the phantom. I too have a setup similar to this with a 26' in it. Propblast
  9. Paracommander in a bellywart? Can it be done? Anyone seen it done? Propblast
  10. I wonder if this was Nish Bruce's suit? Propblast
  11. For goodness fucking sake's. It was fucking real. That's how much fucking better than CGI it was. It was fucking real. Kids these days and their xbox's. Kind of my point... Propblast
  12. I was lucky in that my computer didn't lock up during his jump. When he left the platform, that initial drop was awesome! Much better than the CGI.
  13. Still no joy with amazon. Could you PM it out?
  14. I am looking forward to reading it as well. Propblast
  15. I find humor in the fact that my above post is number 223. I just noticed not bad for a decade+ huh? Propblast
  16. For what it's worth... I have built and worked on lots of ARs. I compete with them and probably shoot in excess of 20K -30K rds a year...so I am constantly working on the guns. Most are created equal if....the lower is mil spec. There are two things that will make 1 AR better than another. 1. The barrel/bolt group. These days I build with Kriegers. 2. The trigger. These days I use any of the Geisselle versions. The 5.56mm or better yet Wylde chamber is the way to go. For the OP I like irons and compete with them all the time out to 600 yards. They are reliable and will never fail. That said the rifle optics these days are very good. You just got to go with what you want. That said, Mark and the other companies mentioned above make excellent rifles. Propblast
  17. I personally like EOTechs ( have been using the same one for 9 years) and ACOGs but for a build that won't get run hard, Primary Arms makes a good Micro dot at a reasonable price. Propblast
