Our JFTC feature documentary is on the Discovery Channel tonight at both 8:00 and 11:00. http://www.documentarychannel.com/movie.php?currID=10240&t=Pink-Skies Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Did she live? Yes, but she was broken. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Correction . . . it's worth $1,600 an ounce because some people think it's worth $1,600 an ounce. The metal's intrinsic worth is questionable at best. It's rare, but it's not particularly useful other than as a decoration. Many uses for gold in the medical field. My favorite one is listed on the last paragraph of this article. Perhaps I should invest! You think? http://www.gold.org/technology/uses/medicine/

The heaviest patient we've had at the hospital where I work was 720 lbs. Yes, he could stand. No, he could not walk. Sucked big time the day he crushed one of our nurse's aids. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

What do you want to bet this in response to the gap between the requirements for a Coach rating and the reccomendation for camera flying? If you can be a coach with 100 jumps, but are not supposed to jump a camera until you have 200, there are a bunch of coaches out there who aren't able to video the jumps they do. Many DZs like to offer POV video on coach dives, and the GoPros have made it fairly inexpensive, but then you have the problem of coaches who lack the experience to meet the USPA reccomendation. If I am correct, the worst part about it is that DZOs are lobbying to have the reccomedation reduced for the purpose of putting jumpers with less than 200 jumps in the sly with unlicensed jumpers while wearing a camera. As if the idea that a jumper with 100 jumps should be coaching anyone isn't bad enough, now they want them to fly video too. What would your answer to the problem be, Dave? I know I'm not Dave, however how about hiring a *real* cameraflyer to do outside video. Much better view as well . . . Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

And wuffos ( read my co-workers ) wonder how on earth someone could walk into a prop blade. ( on the news recently and they were incredulous that this could even happen. "Wouldn't they see it?" ). Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I think skydivers would be perfect for a clothing drive! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa7nZ_rQtIo then on an older, no younger, no older note: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pS9sUm5Y0sg and then one for Jason: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcfViklWRsU Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

A bruise is just the cameraflyer's office logo. Speaking of 'creases' being permanent: I had a horse go over on me, backwards, and indent my leg with the cantle of the saddle just above my knee. That was almost 30 years ago and the dent is still there. Didn't break the leg, but the bruise and muscle damage was there for months. Oh, and this happened just the day before my wedding . . . think someone was trying to tell me something! Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

What is the hardest plane to jump out of for AFF?
ltdiver replied to Amyr's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
When starting to skydive I had a built in slow turn on exits (Cessna 182). I tried to analyze what caused it and came up with an elaborate explanation. When I presented this to my instructor he just looked at me, shook his head, and said "You think too much. Just relax!". Years later I got to jump out of that same plane (after becoming an Otter snob) and found he was completely right! That, and looking up at the wing which had a really nice smiley face on the underside. -
I completely understand, and have understood, what you're driving at. Thank you for letting this thread return to what I wanted it to demonstrate.

Yes. And all of these devices at his house operate off of WLAN. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Don't know about you, but at this exact time I checked my iPhone's connection there were 4 other devices playing on the same wire. A interweb TV, 2 computers gaming, and my nephew's wife buying their kids and other family member's Christmas presents! (taking advantage of Black Friday's early deals to avoid having to go out at midnight in all that melee last night)! To say nothing of everyone's personal phones adding to the 'stress'. My nephew actually smiled and said that the connection is usually faster. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

My original post takes this into account, with this "GottaBeMobile" review as my benchmark. This reviewer has the added convenience of having both the Verizon and AT&T iPhone 4s at his fingertips. Then to add here, and why I wanted this thread to focus on just comparing 3G (and 4G) speeds, just look at what my nephew's internet connection bought my iPhone just yesterday! Thanksgiving at his San Diego house . . . and yes, he's a gamer! This is the fastest my little new phone will ever see!!! Wheeeeeee!!!!! Wow, just wow. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Your WiFi rocks!! Your 3G, however, sucks big time. Guess you like hotspots, eh? btw, is your DSL service provider also AT&T? Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
-
That's still the same pic as your 3G connection I'll post mine in a sec. Thanks for the catch (again). Must be this cold weather outside. Think I better head back inside now as I watch the temperature gauge beside me continue to fall. Rain supposed to turn to snow tonight. Fixed now x 2 . . . Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

People: Don't forget to put your service provider in as well. AT&T touts that its 3G service on the new iPhone 4s is faster than Verizon's 3G. I've seen this first hand, yet would like more feedback on this. They also claim that their dual antenna with the iPhone 4s (on AT&T's 3G) is close to 4G speeds. I highly doubt this, but would like to see just how far off they are in this claim. I see that Sprint, as already guessed, sucks at its connection speed. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Yes, and thus the decision of speed vs service is the crux of this tread.

Same here, however every time I call in to my provider they claim they can't get me any faster speed here at my house. For comparison, again here at my home, see attachments below: Comparing iPhone 4s on 3G, iPhone 4s on Earthlink DSL (the fastest they can provide me, they say), and Computer (Macbook PRO) on Earthlink. You're right, Robert. Just wishful thinking on my part, perhaps? Original post corrected. Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

In relation to another thread comparing Droid, iPhone, and Blackberries, the topic of upload and download speeds came into the discussion. For my own education, and perhaps others who are looking at purchasing a new smart phone, lets see how our phones compare. For the interest of comparing cell phone provider's internet speeds, rather than WiFi location hot spots, lets just use pure 3G and 4G only. Turn off your WiFi setting as this will skew the test. Everyone download http://www.speedtest.net/ and post the location where you are testing from. For instance, I don't live in Los Angeles, however that is the nearest hub where this test can ping from. I have an iPhone 4s (which runs on 3G dual antenna). Provider: AT&T Location: Los Angeles ping: 148ms Download 3.03 Mbps Upload: .95 Mbps Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I went from ATT to Verizon. I dont know if its the browser tech on the BB or the networks, but my ATT BB was MUCH slower for browsing then my Verizon Android on 3G. Plus, when I could connect 4g using the Android, WOW.... And now, I'm back to a ATT BB... It sucks. We use Verizon. Guess I should have specified for iPhone. I'm currently with AT&T because of my unlimited data and accumulated rollover minutes. Also with AT&T iPhone you can browse and talk at the same time. Verizon did not offer that on the iPhone. I'd like to start a new thread and have people download speedtest.net and compare upload and download speeds for their phones. Also post their hub location for comparison.
